Chapter 8 - Fighting the Trash
Chapter 8: Fighting the Trash
Silent space. Ruofeng’s gaze shone with excitement. Not bad—it was excitement.
Ruofeng had obtained trash five times before, but he had found very little value. Now, this was the sixth time, and this pile of garbage was extraordinary. It was not something that appeared on Earth.
However, within the heap of trash that resembled a small mountain, most of it consisted of rubble, porcelain shards, wood, and dust…
Ruofeng shook his head and muttered, “Even if these stones and wood are from another world, they won’t have much value in the Naruto world.”
Just as he was about to turn away, his eyes locked onto something. It was this very thing that had stirred his excitement. Among the debris lay a beast’s carcass—a wild boar, yet not quite a boar. Its head resembled that of a boar, but it had two fiery red tusks, sharp and jagged. Its back was lined with barbs and scales, and its tail resembled a snake’s head. Most striking of all, its body was covered in fiery red fur, as if it were ablaze.
However, the beast was already dead, its head pierced by an unknown sharp weapon, though the weapon itself was missing.
Ruofeng knew at a glance—this was not a creature from Earth. Could it be some otherworldly magical beast?
He stepped forward and placed a hand on the massive creature, which weighed at least a few tons. The moment his fingers made contact, he felt a faint heat radiating from its body.
Withdrawing his hand, Ruofeng turned his attention back to the rest of the trash. If he wanted to know where this garbage had come from, he needed to see if there were any records among the discarded items.
The garbage station did not just collect worthless junk. Many of the discarded items were treasures that had been misplaced or forgotten. Some came from ancient relics of immortal worlds, left untouched for so long that they had been deemed useless. In the end, trash is simply something abandoned or misunderstood.
Ruofeng surveyed the small mountain of refuse. Most of it consisted of broken wood and stone, but suddenly, his eyes caught sight of some tattered books.
He picked up one of the books and examined its contents. His expression shifted. “This… This world?”
Though damaged, the book contained recognizable words: Doupo Continent, Alchemist, Seven Star Fruit, Xiao Yan…
Ruofeng’s eyes widened. “Xiao Yan? Doupo… This trash came from the Doupo World? The jump is too big! This morning’s garbage was from the Tomb Raider’s Note World, and now it’s from Doupo World? The gap is ridiculous!”
Tomb Raider’s Note involved grave robbing, ghosts, and zombies. But Doupo World? That was a world capable of destroying the heavens and earth! And now, Ruofeng was standing before a pile of garbage from that very world. That meant—
His gaze shifted back to the beast’s corpse. This must be a magical beast from Doupo World.
“I wonder what rank it is,” Ruofeng murmured. “In Doupo World, magical beasts range from first rank to tenth rank… What level is this one?”
He continued flipping through the broken books, piecing together information. Though fragmented, they still provided valuable insights.
After some time, Ruofeng finished sorting through the trash. Among the useless debris, only a few items held any real value.
One of them was a book—though damaged, it contained records of Doupo Continent and Xiao Yan’s time at Canaan Academy. According to the timeline recorded inside, Xiao Yan had already entered the academy.
Besides the book, there was also a notebook and a porcelain bottle. The porcelain bottle contained a green liquid that emitted a rich fragrance. The notebook, on the other hand, was filled with admiration and emotions directed at Xiao Yan. It seemed to belong to one of his admirers, an aspiring alchemist. The pages detailed their experiences with refining medicine and cataloged the characteristics of various medicinal ingredients. Unfortunately, there was no pill recipe, but there was a note about the liquid in the porcelain bottle.
The contents of the bottle were labeled as a type of foundation-building spiritual liquid. It was similar to the one Yao Lao had refined for Xiao Yan, but the alchemist who made this version lacked Yao Lao’s skills. As a result, its effects were far weaker.
Ruofeng picked up the bottle and studied it closely. “The effect may be weak, but this is meant for Dou Qi cultivation in Doupo World. Doupo’s power far surpasses the Naruto world. What might be considered insignificant in Doupo World is invaluable here.”
He regarded the porcelain bottle like a treasure. Although this foundation-building spiritual liquid was inferior to Yao Lao’s refinement, it was still far more effective than a simple medicinal bath. For Ruofeng, an ordinary person just beginning to cultivate chakra, it would be an incredible aid.
But what excited him the most was the corpse of the magical beast.
The creature appeared freshly slain, its blood still warm. Even if it was only a first-rank magical beast, that alone was enough to thrill Ruofeng.
Doupo World contains far more energy than the Naruto World. The creatures born there must be brimming with power. Eating this beast’s flesh… Ruofeng’s eyes gleamed. It would be no different from consuming a high-grade tonic.
He was only five years old, still growing. These tons of magical beast meat would be enough to fuel his physical development.
Chakra strength depends on both spirit and physique. My spirit is already strong, having lived two lifetimes. If my body grows stronger, my chakra reserves will become terrifying.
Ruofeng narrowed his eyes, staring at the massive beast. “The biggest problem now is how to transport it. If only there had been a storage ring in the trash pile!”
Fortunately, items placed in the garbage station remained preserved, as if time had stopped. The beast’s body would not decay. That meant he had time.
“I should carve out some meat first and test the effects. If it works, I’ll find a few sealing scrolls.”
Storage rings existed in the Naruto world too, in the form of sealing scrolls. Previously, Ruofeng had been unable to use them due to his lack of chakra. But now, he could.
Ruofeng nodded. “Tomorrow, I will dissect this beast, store the meat in sealing scrolls, and find someone to turn it into jerky. From now on, I’ll eat magical beast meat every day!”
With that decision made, Ruofeng turned and left the garbage station.
