Naruto’s Dump Station

Chapter 3 - Tomb Raider Trash

Chapter 3: Tomb Raider Trash

Bang… Bang…

A burning smell lingered around the large tree, the faint embers still smoldering. Ruofeng frowned as he stepped forward, inspecting the scene.

“What kind of world’s trash is this?” he muttered.

The Three Thousand Dumpster had once again dumped its contents, but whether it possessed any spirit or intelligence was unknown. Ruofeng could only speculate about the origins of this discarded refuse.

Under the influence of the Three Thousand Dumpster, the lingering flames quickly extinguished, leaving behind only a faint charred scent. With the fire out, Ruofeng could finally see the full extent of the tree. It had survived for countless years, its growth rings suggesting at least a millennium of existence. However, within its trunk lay crumbling jade fragments.

Ruofeng picked up a piece of shattered jade, his expression turning contemplative. “No way… Could it be from that world?”

A suspicion formed in his mind, but as he moved, his foot struck against a small jade box. Bending down, he carefully picked it up and opened the lid, revealing three dark wooden pieces within, emanating a strange yet pleasant aroma.

The moment he inhaled the scent, he felt a warm current coursing through his body, clearing his mind.

His suspicions solidified as he examined the engraving on the box. “This should be garbage from Tomb Raider’s Notes… or perhaps King Lu’s tomb.”

The scene before him, from the witch hazel tree to the remnants of the explosion, matched descriptions from Tomb Raider’s Notes. The blast had likely destroyed the tomb, turning its remnants into trash, which then found their way into the Three Thousand Dumpster. Fortune had favored Ruofeng, allowing him to salvage these remains.

He turned his gaze back to the jade box, studying the three wooden pieces. These were likely Kirin Exhaustion, a rare medicinal herb from Tomb Raider’s Notes. It was said that the longer it was stored, the more potent its effects became. This miraculous herb could cure all diseases, and those who consumed it would emit a scent that repelled mosquitoes.

Ruofeng smirked. “I wonder if consuming Kirin Exhaustion will make me immune to the insects of the Oil Maiden Clan in the future.”

He carefully stowed the Kirin Exhaustion away before continuing his search. Since this debris came from the world of Tomb Raider’s Notes, there had to be more valuable finds. More importantly, this discovery confirmed his theory— the trash appearing in the Three Thousand Dumpster was of increasing value, possibly correlating with his growth. Perhaps in the future, when he became stronger, even greater relics from powerful worlds would emerge.

As he pondered this, his eyes landed on an ancient longsword half-buried in the dirt. He narrowed his gaze. “A bronze sword?”

Though an antique, this weapon held little value in a world like Naruto’s. However, it was surprisingly sharp, surpassing the quality of standard kunai. Ruofeng carefully picked up the bronze sword and gathered the scattered jade fragments.

He found it odd that the Iron Mask from the witch hazel had vanished. According to legend, the witch hazel contained a corpse that could still breathe. But since the corpse was missing, it was perhaps better left alone.

With his scavenging complete, Ruofeng took stock of his spoils— a pile of jade fragments, a bronze longsword, and three pieces of Kirin Exhaustion. These were the most valuable finds among the refuse. The ancient tree, though not as precious, could still be carved into ornaments.

Satisfied, Ruofeng secured his treasures and turned to leave the silent realm of the Three Thousand Dumpster.

Ruofeng could freely enter and exit the Three Thousand Dumpster, but each visit drained his spiritual energy. As a result, he could only enter three times a day. Still, this ability served as an invincible escape technique— if he could not win a fight, he could simply retreat into the Three Thousand Dumpster, where no one could follow. It was, in essence, a special space-time ninjutsu.

In the blink of an eye, Ruofeng reappeared in his quiet courtyard. He turned towards his lavishly decorated room, placing the bronze sword in a designated spot before securing the jade box within his desk. At least within this compound, no one dared to intrude.

Suddenly, the sound of approaching footsteps reached his ears. A well-proportioned woman entered, bowing slightly.

“Young Master Ruofeng, news has arrived from the hot springs. Today’s medicinal bath has been prepared. Please proceed at your earliest convenience.”

Ruofeng nodded. “Oh? The medicinal bath is ready? Then I shall not delay.”

With that, he left the room, heading towards the courtyard beyond.

Medicinal baths were a common practice among noble clans, serving to strengthen the foundation of their members. This tradition was one of the reasons why the offspring of prestigious families often surpassed commoner ninjas. It was not just their secret techniques that set them apart, but also the rigorous medicinal treatments they underwent from a young age. These baths enhanced their bodies, increasing their chakra reserves and physical endurance.

Even if they did not directly boost chakra, they improved overall fitness— after all, a ninja with greater stamina could push themselves far beyond the limits of an ordinary shinobi.

Ruofeng’s grandfather controlled two-thirds of the hot spring business in Kiba and was an exceptionally wealthy merchant. This wealth allowed him to procure rare medicinal herbs to prepare Ruofeng’s baths. However, herbs alone were insufficient— the correct prescription was necessary. Each noble clan had its own secret medicinal bath formula, tailored to different effects. It was rumored that the Nara Clan’s baths could enhance intelligence, which, given their legendary tactical prowess, was not hard to believe.

Ruofeng’s medicinal bath formula had an unusual origin—it had been provided by Jiraiya himself.

His grandfather, for reasons unknown, had some sort of connection with the legendary Sannin. Initially, Ruofeng suspected that the trade involved a few copies of Icha Icha Paradise, but Jiraiya was not so foolish as to exchange such valuable knowledge for mere books.

Later, Ruofeng learned the truth— his grandfather had financially supported Jiraiya in his youth. It was common for wealthy merchants in Kiba to sponsor promising academy students, providing them with weapons and supplies. This funding helped lower-class ninjas grow stronger, and if they eventually became powerful, they could return the favor.

Jiraiya had been one such sponsored ninja. Unlike many others, he had no clan backing him. His ancestors may have been notable, but within Kiba, he was alone. It was only after training under the Third Hokage that he began his rise to prominence, and his later encounter with Mount Myoboku sealed his destiny as one of the Sannin.

In hindsight, Ruofeng’s grandfather had invested in a future legend.
