Eighteen hours had passed since the mysterious attack on Kumogakure. Twilight had fallen.

In the office of the newly appointed Third Raikage, A, the fiery outbursts had been raging for twelve straight hours.

Since morning, the Raikage's office—more akin to a gym than an office—had echoed with a constant barrage of thunderous roars.

There had been 148 curses involving the attacker's mother and 3,200 involving his female ancestors. No, wait—make that 3,201.

A slender, fair hand holding a pen jotted down the number "3,201."

The owner of the hand sat at a modest desk, her long, nimble fingers idly twirling the pen. With her other hand propping up her chin, she leaned lazily against the desk.

She was a woman—a rare sight in Kumogakure—fair-skinned and stunningly beautiful.

Her captivating eyes, framed by long, slightly upturned lashes, sparkled with a hint of mischief.

But the most attention-grabbing feature was the pair of adorable, well-rounded "white rabbits" resting neatly on the desk, commanding the gaze of anyone present.

It was clear that these "white rabbits" must place a considerable burden on her shoulders.

As the sky outside the floor-to-ceiling window darkened, the woman, dressed in a form-fitting pencil skirt and a tailored vest, stretched lazily and stood up.

"Uncle, you've been ranting for eleven hours and forty-nine minutes! In another eleven minutes, I'm off the clock~"

The towering, muscular Raikage A swallowed the curse that was about to leave his lips. Casting a helpless glance at his niece, he sighed and asked:

"Yawai, has anyone reported the identity of the attacker yet?"

At his words, Yawai, who had been lightly massaging her shoulders, shook her head regretfully.

"No. All we've found are 199 specially crafted bricks. According to the intelligence division, these bricks seem to be part of some sort of technique."

"What kind of technique?" A asked instinctively.

Yawai brushed aside a stray lock of her pale yellow, wavy hair and shook her head again.

"The intelligence division couldn't figure it out. There's nothing particularly special about them—just some chakra arranged in a peculiar pattern."

"Damn it!" The Third Raikage A kicked a nearby sofa, reducing the already battered piece of furniture to a pile of rubble.

Yawai didn't even bat an eye. She knew her uncle was already exercising considerable restraint.

If he were to unleash his full fury, the entire Raikage Tower would collapse in an instant.

"Uncle, there's no need to worry. This coward hiding in the shadows must have some ulterior motive. Once he reveals his hand, we'll catch him."

At her words, A let out a heavy grunt.

"Have the sensory units been deployed?"

"They've been sent out. Additional forces have also been stationed at the Thunderclap Temple and the Valley of Clouds and Lightning…"

Before Yawai could finish, the door to the Raikage's office was suddenly pounded on.

"Enter!" A roared.

The door swung open, and a ninja dressed in Kumogakure's ANBU uniform rushed in, dropping to one knee.

"Raikage-sama, the Thunderclap Temple has been attacked again."

"What kind of attack? Explain clearly!"

"Well… it seems to be Magnet Release. Countless cylindrical iron rods rained down from the sky, striking people indiscriminately."

"And the attacker?" A pressed.

"He… he was cursing loudly while relentlessly pounding Master Chikū's bald head."

The ANBU hesitated to add that the sensory units on-site were laughing so hard they could barely function. After all, Master Chikū was practically a living Buddha.

Hearing this, the Third Raikage's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot.

This bastard dared to assault Master Chikū, a paragon of spiritual enlightenment? This was beyond outrageous.

Flames of fury ignited in A's eyes as he turned and charged toward the massive floor-to-ceiling window.

Just as he was about to leap through the glass, Yawai stopped him in his tracks.

"Uncle! Something about this situation doesn't add up. The attacker's behavior is highly suspicious!" Yawai frowned, her youthful face—despite her fifteen or sixteen years—carrying a hint of authority.

"Uncle, let the jonin squads handle this. Send more of them if needed, but you should stay in the office!"

The Raikage's brows furrowed deeply as he stared at Yawai. His voice was low and serious: "Are you saying this is about the Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki?"

Yawai nodded repeatedly, the movement causing her "white rabbits" to bounce energetically.

Clearly, the Raikage wasn't stupid—just a bit hot-headed.

After a moment of contemplation, the Third Raikage nodded heavily. Just as he was about to issue orders to the ANBU, another ANBU ninja burst into the room.

"Raikage-sama! The Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki!"

"Speak!" A bellowed, spinning around.

"The Jinchūriki has been attacked and has already entered a partial transformation!"

"How many tails?"

"One tail!"

Hearing this, the Raikage exhaled a small sigh of relief. He quickly turned to Yawai, who stood poised and graceful beside him.

"Send reinforcements to the Thunderclap Temple."

With that, A abandoned his plan to jump out the window, instead pushing past the ANBU as he stormed out of the office.

Although a strange feeling lingered, there was no time to dwell on it. Yawai quickly issued orders to the ANBU:

"Summon the combat squads in the village. Send the jonin squads to support Raikage-sama at the Valley of Clouds and Lightning, and the chunin squads to the Thunderclap Temple. All ANBU except scouts are to return to the Raikage Tower! I want to see what this mysterious attacker is planning!"

Having swiftly assigned tasks, Yawai left the Raikage's office as well.

Within Kumogakure, the news had yet to spread. Ninjas still in the village went about their tasks leisurely.

Meanwhile, at Raimui's residence, an urgent and loud knock echoed at the door.

Raimui, who had been in the middle of push-ups, got up and opened the door. Standing outside was his teammate, a genin named Ofu.

"It's you. What do you want?" Raimui asked, his tone distant.

Today, however, Ofu seemed different. Normally silent, he was unusually animated.

"Heh~ I came to tell you that the Thunderclap Temple has been attacked. I'm heading there to take down the attacker."

"You?" Raimui scoffed, shaking his head dismissively.

But this time, instead of lowering his head as usual, Ofu furrowed his brows and stared at Raimui with a provocative expression.

"Yes, me. Just because I've been quiet doesn't mean I'll stay quiet forever!

I'll capture the attacker, earn merit, and obtain secret techniques to become a powerful ninja!"

With that, Ofu turned and bolted.

"Coward, stay home and do your push-ups!" he taunted as he disappeared into the distance, heading toward the Thunderclap Temple.

Enraged by Ofu's mockery, the hot-headed Raimui quickly threw on his ninja sandals and dashed out.

"Damn it, Ofu! The one earning merit will be me! Raikage-sama will reward me with Lightning Release Chakra Mode!"

With that, he picked up speed, confident that his ninja-taijutsu prowess made him faster than Ofu.

What Raimui didn't know was that his teammate Ofu had been dead for some time.

Rinjin had successfully baited his target—a reckless little fish named Raimui.

While his clone wreaked havoc at the Thunderclap Temple, Rinjin infiltrated the temple's main hall.

There, he sensed an immense, scorching chakra.

The chakra was so overwhelming that Rinjin could feel it the moment he stepped through the temple gates—even without being a sensory ninja.

The Thunderclap Temple was in utter chaos. Endless clones emerged from spatial rifts, wielding bricks and smashing anything in sight.

And the worst part? Whenever a Kumogakure ninja destroyed a clone, another clone would appear to pick up the fallen brick and continue its predecessor's work.

The ground was soon littered with shattered skulls and splattered brains.

This was Rinjin's first time killing so ruthlessly.

He couldn't afford to gamble. He didn't know if any of these ninjas were sensory types or if they could memorize his unique chakra signature.

Though he wasn't bloodthirsty, Rinjin had no qualms about killing when necessary.

The only head missing from the carnage was Master Chikū's infamously hard skull.

Smirking, Rinjin focused on the Flying Raijin mark he had left on Chikū's shiny bald head.

Suddenly, Rinjin's eyes widened as his gaze locked onto the Buddha statue in the temple's central hall.

His mark was beneath the statue.

"Flying Raijin!" Rinjin formed a single hand seal and vanished.

In the next instant, Rinjin reappeared and was stunned by the sight before him.

A vast underground chamber stretched out before him. Eight massive chains, crackling with wind and lightning, bound a gigantic blue cat.

The enormous feline lay lazily on the ground, its slitted pupils glaring coldly at Rinjin.

The Two-Tails!

Seeing his target, Rinjin cleared his throat and forced a sincere smile, ignoring the muffled cries of Master Chikū beneath his feet.

"Ahem... Miss Matatabi... uh, I mean, Miss Two-Tails, nice to meet you. Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Wang Mazi…"

"Oops, sorry, got a bit excited."

Patting his forehead lightly, Rinjin ignored the increasingly icy glare from the Two-Tails and continued.

"My name is Danzō Shimura. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'd like to invite you out for a stroll and maybe grab a bite to eat~"

If his target had been a delicate young lady, this might have been appropriate.

But standing before him was a colossal beast with fangs longer than his own arms.

Not that it mattered to Rinjin. Who said Jinchūriki and Tailed Beasts couldn't fall in love?

A platonic, spiritual romance—wasn't that appealing?

Well… maybe not.

Either way, this date was happening, whether she liked it or not!

Forced relationships might not be sweet, but Rinjin was determined to take a bite!
