Chapter 268: "Heh Heh Heh! Nine-Tails! I Want You to Help Naruto Train!"

"Uncle Haneda!"

As soon as Naruto saw Haneda appear at the door, he ran over excitedly and threw his arms around him.

"Only three days apart, and you already missed me so much, Naruto?"

Haneda lifted Naruto into his arms and spun him around playfully.

Seeing Naruto immediately go to Haneda, Sasuke pouted and turned his head away in annoyance.

Out of sight, out of mind.

"Hey, Sasuke!" Naruto called out from Haneda's arms.

"What?" Sasuke initially didn't want to respond, but his mouth betrayed him with a reflexive reply.

"Come teach me the chakra extraction technique! I think I made progress just now. I even saw a big fox!"

"Hah!" Sasuke sneered. "You must've fallen asleep while sitting there. What a complete idiot."

"A fox? Naruto, did you just meet the Nine-Tails?" Kakashi asked curiously.

"Naruto wanting to meet it would depend on the Nine-Tails' consent—unless under special circumstances," Haneda added with a chuckle. He then activated his Mangekyō Sharingan, glancing at Naruto.

"Didn't Sasuke teach you the chakra extraction technique for quite a while? Didn't you learn anything?"

Before Naruto could reply, Sasuke corrected indignantly, "No way! I only taught that idiot for a short while!!"

Haneda glanced at Sasuke, amused. Classic Uchiha tsundere, he thought to himself.

Having observed Naruto and Sasuke from outside for some time, Haneda was all too aware of how much Sasuke cared about Naruto.

Smiling, Haneda said, "Alright, fine—just a short while. In that case, how about I take over and teach Naruto? What do you think?"

Before Sasuke could object, Naruto beamed and exclaimed, "Yes, please, Uncle Haneda! If you teach me, I'll learn it quickly, and Sasuke won't have to feel embarrassed anymore!"

Hearing this, Sasuke, who thought Naruto would abandon him, let out a small, satisfied smile.

"What a hopeless idiot," Sasuke muttered. "I was only pretending earlier… Nii-san doesn't even know about this yet."

"Nii-san! You're here!"

Itachi walked in just then, and Sasuke immediately ran to him, grabbing his hand and pulling him out.

"Nii-san! Uncle Haneda has something important to do!"

Itachi gave Sasuke a puzzled look but noticed Haneda's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he allowed Sasuke to pull him away.

By now, Haneda had already entered Naruto's mindscape.

The dim basement-like space had shallow pools of water on the ground, symbolizing the lingering negative emotions in Naruto's heart.

These emotions had built up over the years and hadn't fully dissipated even now.

"Wow, I'm dreaming again!"

Naruto exclaimed in amazement, bouncing around and pulling Haneda along by the hand.

"Uncle Haneda, over there, over there! There's a super big fox locked in a cage!"

"It looks kinda pitiful, doesn't it?"

Inside the cage, the Nine-Tails immediately roared, "Silence! I don't need your pity, you foolish human!"

"Oh, it can talk!" Naruto muttered, wide-eyed. Gripping Haneda's hand tightly, he walked closer to the cage and waved at the Nine-Tails.

"Hi! My name's Uzumaki Naruto. Can we be friends?"

The Nine-Tails couldn't hold back anymore, opening its massive jaws and snarling, "I'd rather die, be sealed again, or rot away than ever befriend a human!"

The fox had expected to scare the boy into crying, but Naruto remained as cheerful as ever.

Pulling on Haneda's clothes, Naruto pointed at the Nine-Tails and laughed, "Uncle Haneda, look! The big fox can't do anything to us!"

"Hey, since you're stuck in there, why not chat with us for a bit?" Naruto suggested innocently. "I'm Naruto. What's your name?"

The Nine-Tails could sense that Naruto bore no malice and was genuinely curious about him. Deciding it wasn't worth the effort to argue, the beast lowered its head and closed its eyes, feigning sleep.

The Nine-Tails had seen enough. With someone as fearsome as Uchiha Haneda around, there was no point in trying to escape.

Better to bide its time, wait for Haneda to grow old and die, and then find an opportunity to break free. As a tailed beast, it had all the time in the world to outlast Haneda.

Haneda watched as the Nine-Tails shifted from aggressive to indifferent, a smirk tugging at his lips.

Just as Naruto can handle Sasuke, he's a natural at dealing with this tsundere fox.

But Haneda wasn't here to watch a comedy. Turning serious, he addressed the Nine-Tails:

"I'm here for one reason. The chakra you're leaking is interfering with Naruto's training. Keep it in check."

The Nine-Tails opened one eye and growled, "Why not just seal me completely, leave no gaps? Then I wouldn't affect the boy at all."

Hearing the Nine-Tails say his name, Naruto lit up with excitement. "You said my name, Big Fox!"

The Nine-Tails twitched its mouth. This kid was annoying but… oddly endearing. Was he really Ashura's reincarnation?

Haneda interrupted, "You misunderstand. I'm saying you should help Naruto instead. Work with him and stop resisting."

Activating his Sharingan, Haneda stared into the fox's eyes, the blood-red sun pattern glowing ominously.

The Nine-Tails shuddered. Haneda's ocular power had grown even stronger—stronger than that man's.

This wasn't an ordinary Mangekyō Sharingan. It was the Eternal Mangekyō!

The Nine-Tails, who had overheard information about Haneda through Kushina years ago, couldn't fathom how someone with no direct relatives could achieve the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

Haneda continued, "You should know by now that you can't resist these eyes. Take this as a threat if you like, but you have no choice."

Seeing the fox remain silent, Haneda tore off the seal paper covering the cage. The Nine-Tails instinctively shrank back, retreating further into the cage.

When Haneda kicked the gate open and stepped inside, the fox was already pressed against the wall.

"What are you doing? Don't think for a second that I'm afraid of you!"

Haneda chuckled darkly. "If reasoning won't work, I'll have to use my fists."

Just then, two more figures appeared inside the cage—one with striking red hair, the other clad in the Hokage's robes.

It was none other than Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki, Naruto's parents.

"Need our help, Haneda?" Minato asked.

"No need, Minato-senpai. You and Kushina-nee can spend some time with Naruto."

Haneda cracked his knuckles, his eager expression causing the Nine-Tails to break out in a cold sweat.

As Haneda approached step by step, the fox had nowhere left to retreat.

"Don't come any closer!"

"Heh heh heh! Nine-Tails! I want you to help Naruto train!!"

Haneda formed an enormous Rasengan in his hand, its core infused with Lava Release chakra.

The sheer intensity of the spiraling energy made the Nine-Tails' fur stand on end.

It didn't need to be hit to know just how much this attack would hurt.

But even as fear crept in, the Nine-Tails growled defiantly.

If it didn't fight back now, what dignity would it have left as the mighty Nine-Tails?
