Chapter 267: The Death of His Desire to Show Off Upon Returning to the Village

After executing the feudal lord, Haneda declared to the ministers in the palace that the feudal lord had been executed for treason and ordered them to spread the news across the Land of Fire.

He also announced the defeat of Kumogakure, boasting that he had personally captured the Fourth Raikage and the two jinchūriki.

The ministers, hearing of Kumogakure's miserable defeat, didn't dare refute a single word Haneda said.

Their attitudes toward Haneda became even more reverent.

But Shikaku gave him no satisfying response at all.

Left without a choice, Haneda decided to drop a bombshell to shock Shikaku.

"I just killed the feudal lord and publicly executed him for treason."

"I see. I'll take care of the aftermath," Shikaku replied calmly, as if he had already expected this outcome.

Hearing this, Haneda completely lost the desire to show off.

Feeling bored staying in the office, he thought of Kakashi and decided it was time to find him.

Bragging is only satisfying in front of friends.

With that in mind, Haneda activated his Shinraku Sharingan to locate Kakashi. In an instant, he locked onto Kakashi's position and used the Flying Thunder God Technique to appear at Training Ground Three.

Kakashi, who had been practicing Lightning Release, sensed someone watching him and turned around.

Haneda had returned.

"So the war with Kumogakure is over? That was fast," Kakashi said with a smile.

"Of course, I said three days, and it only took three days."

"Did you blitz through Kumogakure, or did you face them head-on?" Kakashi asked curiously.

If Haneda had played it safe, a blitz would've been the most secure method.

Three days would've been enough to occupy Kumogakure and force their surrender.

But knowing Haneda's personality, Kakashi guessed he'd opted for a direct confrontation.

Having spent a lot of time with Haneda, Kakashi knew his closest friend had a fighting spirit.

Though Haneda's rationality often overpowered that instinct, Kumogakure's provocation was something he couldn't let slide.

Seeing the smirk on Haneda's face, Kakashi chuckled and said,

"Let me guess, a resounding victory, right? Did you capture the Raikage or their jinchūriki?"

Haneda shook his head and replied casually, "One Raikage, two jinchūriki. I happened to come across them, so I took care of them."

"There were also 12,327 Kumogakure ninjas at the time."

"To ensure Konoha's ninjas wouldn't get hurt, I took the lead and fought all of Kumogakure by myself."

Kakashi's brows furrowed with concern. "You fought them alone? That's too reckless. The last time you fought Iwagakure, even True Thousand Hands was shattered..."

"I've gotten stronger, Kakashi. Plus, I know the Flying Thunder God Technique now."

Kakashi replied, "No matter how strong you've become, call me next time. After all, I'm your Anbu Captain."

Seeing the concern in Kakashi's eyes, Haneda instinctively avoided his gaze and changed the subject.

"This time, you were busy looking after Naruto… By the way, where's Naruto now?"

Kakashi thought for a moment before answering, "He went to Sasuke's house this morning. Their relationship is a bit like how you and Obito, or you and I, were back in the day."

"Let's go. He probably misses me. Besides, he's about to enroll, so it's time to address his chakra issue."

"The Nine-Tails?" Kakashi immediately thought of the beast sealed inside Naruto by Minato-sensei.

"Yeah," Haneda nodded, activating the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport both himself and Kakashi to Fugaku's house.

At Fugaku's residence, Sasuke was acting like a big brother, teaching Naruto chakra extraction techniques.

Ever since Sasuke had pestered his older brother to teach him, he'd been eager to show off his newfound skills.

Naruto, who didn't yet understand chakra, became Sasuke's first target.

However, no matter how many times Sasuke explained, Naruto still didn't get it.

At first, Sasuke thought Naruto was just too dumb.

But after countless failed attempts, Sasuke began doubting his own teaching abilities.

"It doesn't make sense. Nii-san only had to teach me a few times before I got it. Why is Naruto finding this so difficult?!"

Sasuke groaned in frustration.

"Idiot! Chakra is the combination of physical and mental energy. You need to focus to extract your mental energy!"

"But Sasuke, you're watching me, and it's making my head all scrambled!"

"You super idiot! Can't you just imagine I'm not here? Just pretend I'm not standing behind you!"

Sasuke taught him again, this time stepping out of the room and sneaking around to the window to spy on Naruto.

"This idiot… Even with me gone, he still can't do it…"

"What a hopeless moron. If I'd known, I wouldn't have bothered teaching him. Maybe Uncle Haneda can do it…"

As Sasuke muttered to himself, he turned around and was greeted by Haneda and Kakashi's smiling faces.

"Uncle Haneda, don't tell me you're planning to…"

"Relax, I'm not here to steal Naruto away," Haneda reassured him.

"Me neither," Kakashi added, noticing Sasuke's slightly resentful gaze.

Haneda smiled lightly. "Looks like you were just teaching Naruto chakra extraction. How's it going?"

Sasuke quickly denied, "No, I was just taking a walk and happened to pass by."

"Is that so?" Haneda's smile deepened.

He grabbed Sasuke's little hand. Though he initially considered climbing through the window, he decided against it to set a better example for the children.

Instead, he took Sasuke through the front door.

Hearing footsteps, Naruto turned excitedly toward the entrance.

"Sasuke! You're back already?!"

Sasuke, noticing the looks from Haneda and Kakashi, felt his face flush red.

"This idiot Naruto…"

Sasuke grumbled under his breath, deliberately lagging behind Haneda and Kakashi as they entered.
