Chapter 3: Trapped

---Madara POV---

"Madara-sama, Danzo has finally told the truth to Hiruzen, and the Konoha ninja are now sending reinforcements," reported White Zetsu.

"It doesn't matter. It will take at least half a day for the reinforcements to arrive," said Madara.

"The Root ninja have also managed to infiltrate the island. It seems they're trying to steal the scroll," added White Zetsu.

Speaking of the scroll, White Zetsu had managed to steal and copy several jutsu from Konoha, Uzushiogakure, and other ninja villages. His ability to hide from sensory ninja was top-notch—so refined that even the Uzumaki Clan's kekkei genkai, the Mind's Eye , couldn't detect him.

The other villages managed to reach Uzushiogakure because someone was working behind the scenes. That someone was Uchiha Madara himself, who had ordered White Zetsu and Black Zetsu to assist the other villages. Coincidentally, White Zetsu also discovered Danzo's true intentions—to steal the sealing scroll and weaken the Senju Clan.

Following Madara's instructions, the plan was deliberately leaked to Danzo. For the past month, Danzo had been secretly aiding the other four villages. Even if he had now come clean to Konoha to avoid suspicion, it was already too late for their reinforcements to make any difference.

"Don't worry about that," said Madara. "Just make sure to save at least one child from the Uzumaki Clan or better yet, a pregnant woman and her husband."

This attack on Uzushiogakure was part of Madara Eternal Tsukuyomi plan. He needed a member of the Uzumaki Clan, someone whose body overflowed with vitality and chakra. Ideally, the Rinnegan should be wielded by an Uchiha, but knowing his clan, they would never accept his proposal. They had branded him a traitor and he didn't want to risk someone from Uchiha Clan to betray him once more by telling Konoha about his plan.

If someone outside the Uzumaki tried to use the Rinnegan, they would be drained dry by the sheer amount of chakra needed to sustain it. Ordinary people couldn't bear its power. Right now, only the Uzumaki were suitable vessels.

---At the Forefront---

Even though the Uzumaki Clan was known as one of the strongest clans, their numbers were small compared to the other four major villages.

"The barrier won't hold for much longer," said the Uzukage, his face tense.

Even the elders fell silent. At this point, there was no way out.

Either they fought and died, or ran and died even faster.

"Everyone!" shouted the Uzukage.

"This is our only chance. We may risk our lives here, but in return, our wives and children might escape. We must give everything we have to stop them. This is not training—this is real war."

His voice was met with the roar of a thousand Shinobi.

"YOSSHHHHH, I'LL DIE HERE WITH HONOR!"

"I'LL PROTECT OUR FAMILY WITH EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT!"

Every shinobi on the frontlines was ready to sacrifice themselves. They knew there was no hope of survival. They would either die fighting or be captured and tortured.

Their numbers were too small—too weak to resist all of them.

---Raiken Escape Group---

"Uzukage, we're surrounded. Several large ships have encircled the island," reported Uzumaki Hiroki. He was one of the three Uzumaki chosen to follow Uchiha Raiken. Due to his mastery in fuinjutsu, he and his family—his wife and two children—were selected to flee Uzushiogakure.

"Should we fight them?" asked Raiken.

"I don't think that's a good idea. They outnumber us," replied Hiroki. "The risk is too high. Our group could be wiped out or captured."

Raiken pinched his forehead and sighed. "Let's wait for everyone to arrive, then we'll try to find another way."

Hiroki fell silent. He had scouted the surrounding area and discovered that every route had been sealed off with barriers because the invaders had manage to encircle them, so the only way to prevent them entering is to block the surrounding area with a barrier. That meant they either fought to the end or faced capture and torture by the invaders.

Ten minutes later, everyone arrived. They carried a scroll—meaning all essential items like food, clothes, weapons, and money had been stored within it. Even the other ninja who are to escort them had come.

Uzumaki Arata arrived with Uzumaki Kenshiro. They had just looted the Uzukage office—taking everything, including wealth, money, and valuable fuinjutsu scrolls. They wouldn't leave anything behind for the enemy.

They were among the three master sealers of Uzushiogakure, tasked with escaping with their families under Raiken's command.

"Everyone's here," said Raiken. He stood up and addressed them, "Everyone, keep close watch on your children. We'll take the ocean route. I must warn you, this journey will be dangerous. But it's better than staying here and being killed."

"Yes, Uzukage-sama!"

"We'll remember your words."

"Let's move," he said, glancing at Arata, Hiroki, and Kenshiro.

But before they could move, one of the barriers collapsed and enemy ninja began pouring in.

"This is bad," said Raiken, his expression grim. Am I going to die here, just an unlucky transmigrator? Why isn't there a system to back me up?

Raiken pulled himself together and shouted, "Anyone who can fight—protect the weak!"

Thankfully, not all the Chunin or Jonin had gone to the front lines. Some female Jonin, instructed by their husbands to stay and protect their children, had reluctantly agreed—choosing motherhood over martyrdom.

KLANG

BOOM

ARGHHH!

Screams echoed all around.

Suddenly, five enemy shinobi slipped through the broken barrier and manage to slip from the frontline Uzumaki Shinobi. They are tasked to loot the sealing scroll first before the other Ninja village manage to take it as a spoil of war.

Their vision suddenly spotting the large group of women and children, their expressions darkened, the female Uzumaki member could be forced to breed the child unlike male so they rushed to attack Raiken group.

"Defend them!" ordered Raiken.

Raiken and the others capable of fighting managed to take down the five attackers.

But before they could catch their breath, another wave of enemy ninja broke through.

"Hiroki, put up a barrier—now! Or the civilians will die!" Raiken shouted.

Hiroki and Arata quickly activated their sealing techniques, raising a barrier around the refugees. They were safe for now. But the barrier wouldn't hold forever. Like the outer ones that were setup by Uzukage and his Shinobi, this small barrier would eventually fall.

Think, Raiken! he told himself. If only I had Minato's Hiraishin no Jutsu, I could teleport everyone out!

Everyone looked at him, waiting. Even the Jonin were tense—none of them could see a way out.

He tried to calm himself and focused on the Hiraishin technique. Its name means "Lightning road, the translation of Hiraishin is Lightning rod, summoning jutsu"... a lightning rod...

Then it struck him. He got a new idea. The solution.
