This hidden village, established single-handedly by Orochimaru, seemed modest when compared to the Five Great Shinobi Villages—or rather, the Four Great Shinobi Villages now.

Yet, despite its size, Otogakure boasted everything a major village had. It was small but complete, a microcosm of a true shinobi village.

However, to call it a shinobi village was generous—it was more accurately Orochimaru's personal laboratory. Every shinobi in the village was a mere test subject for his experiments.

At this moment, Orochimaru and Kabuto were engrossed in their research, dissecting the results of the White Zetsu test subjects provided by a mysterious masked man.

Nearby, jars containing perfectly preserved body parts of corpses retrieved by the Akatsuki were meticulously arranged.

A series of deafening explosions rattled the metallic walls and ceiling of the lab. Dust and debris rained down on Orochimaru and Kabuto, who both looked up in surprise.

The ceiling cracked open with thunderous force, jagged fissures running across the surface. Within moments, the reinforced metal casing was torn apart, allowing blinding sunlight to stream into the dimly lit laboratory.

"Kabuto, what's happening? Are we under attack?!" Kabuto stammered, panic flashing in his eyes as he turned to Orochimaru.

"It seems we have some familiar guests," Orochimaru replied calmly, his tongue flicking out to lick his lips, though his narrowed eyes betrayed his displeasure. His precious lab—violated in such a barbaric way—how vexing.

In the next moment, several figures leaped through the gaping hole above them.

"Wow! No surprise that a snake's lair is damp and reeks of rot!" a brash, youthful voice called out.

"For once, I agree with Deidara," Sasori nodded curtly.

"Indeed," Kakuzu muttered, his green eyes glinting beneath his mask.

"This place makes Kirigakure seem hospitable by comparison," Kisame added, flashing his rows of shark-like teeth in a wide grin.

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

The figures landed lightly, the identities of the intruders reflected clearly in Orochimaru's golden, snake-like eyes—Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu, Kisame, and at the forefront, Pain.

Orochimaru's gaze shifted briefly to the edge of the group, where a shadowy figure wrapped in a plant-like structure stood.

"Zetsu… That silhouette is eerily similar to the one who delivered me Uchiha Madara's corpse," Orochimaru mused inwardly. His eyes flickered toward the surroundings, wondering if the masked man with the space-time jutsu might be lurking unseen.

"Well, well, if it isn't the esteemed Akatsuki. So many of you, just to see little old me? I'm truly honored," Orochimaru drawled, a hoarse chuckle slipping from his lips.

"Enough with the pleasantries, Orochimaru."

Pain stepped forward, his cold, emotionless voice cutting through the air. His Rinnegan eyes, pulsing faintly, swept over the wreckage of the lab.

"It's time for you to fulfill your role for the Akatsuki. We're preparing to move against Konoha and Senju Tobirama. Your forbidden jutsu—Edo Tensei—should be ready, correct?"

Orochimaru's smile widened slightly as he formed a hand seal.

"Of course. It's ready."

"Summoning Jutsu: Edo Tensei!"

The ground trembled violently. Black streaks of energy surged from the earth, and wooden coffins began to emerge, creaking as they rose.

"What… is this?" Kisame's grin faltered slightly as the first coffin lid fell away, revealing a lifeless figure within.

"Considering that Senju Tobirama's strength likely surpasses the level of a Kage, ordinary resurrected shinobi wouldn't stand a chance against him," Orochimaru said, exhaling slowly as he gestured to the coffins.

"That's why I've gathered only the strongest—shinobi who could rival Kages in life."

With a flick of his wrist, Orochimaru began introducing his "army."

"First, the former Kage of the Five Great Shinobi Villages. From Sunagakure, we have the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, and the Third Kazekage, famed for his Magnet Release.

"From Iwagakure, the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, and the Second Tsuchikage, Mū, both wielders of the Dust Release."

"Hold on, old man Ōnoki just died! Orochimaru, did you already dig up his grave?!" Deidara shouted incredulously, pointing at the small figure in one of the coffins.

"Technically, no one dug up his grave. I retrieved his body directly from Iwagakure…" Orochimaru responded nonchalantly, his tongue flicking out once more.

"As for Kirigakure, we have the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, who was also the Three-Tails Jinchūriki, and the Second Mizukage, Gengetsu Hōzuki.

"From Kumogakure, the Third Raikage and the Second Raikage, who reportedly perished alongside Senju Tobirama.

"As for Konoha… regrettably, the First Hokage's soul is sealed, and the Fourth Hokage's spirit resides within the Shinigami, making them inaccessible."

"But I have also summoned powerful shinobi who, while not Kage, could certainly contend on their level. The Gold and Silver Brothers from Kumogakure, Hanzō of the Salamander, and Pakura of the Scorch Release."

"What do you think? Isn't this a magnificent display? Each of them can wield 90% of their strength from life, thanks to the quality of their sacrifices," Orochimaru crooned, his voice dripping with satisfaction.

Pain nodded slightly, though the true leader, Nagato, silently marked Orochimaru as a significant threat. Controlling this many Edo Tensei warriors would require suppressing their consciousness, reducing their strength somewhat, but it still posed an immense danger.

"Not bad, but this doesn't match your initial promise of dozens of Kage-level shinobi," Pain said, his Rinnegan narrowing.

"Finding intact corpses of such caliber isn't easy. Many were destroyed during the wars, or their burial sites remain unknown," Orochimaru replied smoothly. "But with these, it should suffice."

Orochimaru's gaze flicked briefly toward Zetsu, a sly smile playing on his lips.

"Very well." Pain nodded, his Rinnegan glowing ominously. "Then let us declare war—on Konoha and its Hokage!"
