Chapter 99: Attendant of Mother Earth
Katsuro stood over the lifeless body of the now charred Mizukage. It didn't have to end like this, Mizukage. But you left me no other choice
Katsuro stood over the lifeless body of the now charred Mizukage.
It didn't have to end like this, Mizukage. But you left me no other choice, the Senju Patriarch thought, sighing. The fighting had come to an end in Kirigakure. The rest of the Mist Village was silent. All the other Kiri shinobi had been defeated, detained or had surrendered. No shouting. No yelling. Nothing, other than the sound of pattering rain.
But on a more positive note, Katsuro turned to see the large blackened crater that the Mizukage had been lying in. The destructive power of the Jutsu was insane, easily the strongest single attack Jutsu had. A bit overkill for this situation, but this Jutsu will suit damaging large targets like Bijuu's even more than the 9 Dragons Hell Flame Bullet, but I cannot use it whenever I want, it requires the assistance of the heavens themselves and therefore a significant set up. Heavenly Judgement huh, Katsuro thought with a smirk, I am much better at naming things than Minato, even in the moment.
Suddenly, Kaito along with a large group of Leaf shinobi appeared at his side.
"Lord Katsuro, we need to make sure that the Mist Village doesn't try to continue in the war, even after the death of their Mizukage." Kaito stated.
"You're right," Katsuro agreed, "We're close, let's move to Kirigakure."
They moved together arriving in less than an hour, and with the turmoil around the land of water and their forces spent they faced little opposition. Arriving outside the village, their force was obviously spotted and they weren't trying to hide. Their army stopped outside the village as the remaining important figures of elders and clan leaders gathered in shock at the sudden arrival of enemy forces at their doorstep.
Waiting patiently, he let them all gather and prepare, conveying the confidence he had and creating more tension with the suspense. Soon, he began speaking, walking in front of his army towards their walls and used chakra to project his voice loudly
"As you will all know, I am Senju Katsuro of the Leaf. And, as you can see," Katsuro said, holding the head of the Third Mizukage that barely even looked like him - it was unsavoury but necessary. "Your Mizukage has been defeated." Katsuro simply stated, without showing any expression. The Mist Village officials' faces were horrified and deeply enraged seeing their Kage's head being held like a trophy. But, their strongest Shinobi being treated like that also brought in a wave of fear in the regular Shinobi and even the veterans even if they wouldn't show it.
"HOW DARE YOU TREAT LORD MIZUKAGE'S BODY SO DISGUSTINGLY!" one of the Kiri clan leaders roared. A defiant wave of agreement from the Mist followed.
Over the commotion, Katsuro spoke freely, "If you don't agree with what I have to propose, you and your village may not be pardoned. In fact, I might decide to end you here…"
"We will never bow down to you, we don't care who you are! Stormbreaker or not, you can't scare us into submission!" cried one of the village elders, with the other Mist officials yelling in support of the elder, seemingly unfazed by Katsuro's threat. But this was necessary, putting up a strong front together would ensure they stayed united and didn't split under the fear.
"It seems you still believe you have a chance, let me show you the difference between you and I." Katsuro said calmly, putting his hands together, leaping backwards.
"Earth Style Combination Jutsu: GAIA'S ATTENDANT!"
Katsuro performed a few hand signs and raised his arms without much effort. In front of him, a gargantuan rock golem rose from the ground, easily towering over the main three storey building in the Mist village. Lightning covered it, reaching its glowing blue eyes as wind coiled around it. The golem roared angrily. This massive Jutsu rivalled the size of Bijuus and was inspired from Onoki's Rock Golem Jutsu as a base. Katsuro had envisioned a titan that could stand toe to toe with tailed beasts, and managed to create this Jutsu, elevating it easily to S rank.
The golem with sparks of lightning flowing through it and swirls of wind around its limbs attacked, raising its fist with surprising speed for a creature of its size before bringing it down swiftly on the Kirigakure wall. The Shinobi who could escape did so in panic, while those who were unfortunate were crushed along with the wall.
Katsuro, who stood atop the golem with his arms crossed, commanded it to stop with chakra signals through his feet, which created a silence on the battlefield. As the Kiri soldiers and higher ups were completely astounded and fearing for their lives craning their strains necks to look up at the rock golem.
"Now, where were we?" Katsuro said while rubbing his chin. Kaito, the Hyuga brothers and Duy, along with the rest of the Konoha shinobi smiled, seeing how easily their leader had subdued their opposition - an entire nation
"You were about to propose some agreements," one of the Mist clan leaders gulped, shaking - they knew that with Katsuro and the army behind him, the few forces remaining in Kiri had absolutely no chance. They saw how easily their defences and comrades were crushed..
"Right. Firstly, you will put out a message to the rest of your forces to retreat- Kirigakure will no longer be a part of this war. And the rest of the agreements… mostly the usual. Everything will be discussed later after the war. Oh, and in case you go back on your promise, please know that the 6 Tails Jinchuuriki is completely vulnerable and with me alive. If you want any hope of getting it back, you will keep your promises." Katsuro said tenderly, deciding this now would mean that the Third would have a say on the conditions, something Katsuro dearly wanted to avoid as he remembered the last war. Instead he would wait till he was well out of power, it wouldn't be long now - only the war was halting it.
While Katsuro was thinking, a Kiri calm leader nervously spoke up.
"Ahem, Senju Katsuro, what about the weapons of the four of our Seven Ninja Swordsmen you defeated? The twin Kiba lightning blades? The hammer and axe- Kabutowari? Nuibari, the 'sewing needle'? And Shibuki, the explosive sword?"
"What about them?" Katsuro replied, yawning.
"Erm, can we request for their return?"
Katsuro turned slowly to look at the man in his eyes, coldly, with no expression. The clan leader trembled, his heart palpitating, realising he shouldn't have asked.
"You can have them returned if you can successfully retrieve them yourselves, by fighting me for them." Katsuro smiled sinisterly.
The Mist shinobi were about to protest, but looked up again at the rock golem that stood over them, and fortunately stopped themselves.
"Perhaps, one or two can be sold back later, if the Hokage decides so, but as spoils of war, I will be in possession of them for now, if you want them back - stay out of this war." the Stormbreaker replied, now cheerful as he turned away.
Meanwhile…
The Raikage, who had been fighting the three Ninja Swordsmen leapt away from the fight, catching his breath. He had heard from one of his messengers that Sunagakure was being dealt with quite smoothly by Konoha, making him more anxious to defeat the Leaf.
"Lord Raikage!" a messenger's voice called out to him, from the side, "the Third Mizukage and Kiri forces in the Mist village have been defeated by Senju Katsuro of the Lead Village! Kirigakure forces are slowly retreating!"
"What?! Are you sure?" The Raikage was surprised that in such a short time the Mizukage had been defeated, and thinking how quickly the Mist kage had left him to fight three Ninja Swordsmen was quite humiliating.
"I'm certain!"
That one, Senju Katsuro, the Stormbreaker. The stories about him seem to be true… If the Mist has pulled out of the fight, and Suna is probably going to have to as well, Konoha is the next target for us. They're taking the upper hand and pose the largest threat and must be dealt with quickly in order to win this war!
At the same time…
Onoki received a message about the state of the rest of the war. Suna was slowly being crushed by the Leaf and the Mist was out of the war, with their Mizukage now dead along with most of their Seven Ninja Swordsmen, at the hands of none other Senju Katsuro.
It seems like that Senju boy is just as strong as before, most likely even stronger if he dealt with the Mizukage and most of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. I have doubts if even I could accomplish such a feat. Now that Kirigakure is out of the war and Sunagakure is being dealt with by Konoha, we can put more pressure on the Leaf. Besides, the Cloud are most likely doing the same and we've received a report of that possibility, so Konoha will be out of our way faster with that. Still… Senju Katsuro, I have to admit, your existence is changing our Shinobi world.
