Chapter 56: 《Naruto: The Ōtsutsuki Bloodline》Chapter 59: Transformation
"Hey, what's up with you? You look... off somehow."
"What do you mean?"
A gentle autumn breeze swept through the streets of Konohagakure.
Naruto squinted his eyes, staring at Kitagawa Minamoto with a curious expression. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
This guy looked the same as always, yet at the same time, he seemed... different.
After a moment of contemplation, Naruto suddenly smacked his right fist into his left palm as if he had figured it out.
"Oh, I get it now! You look whiter!"
"..."
That's all you've got after staring at me for so long?
Minamoto let out a faint snort. To be fair, his transformation had been quite dramatic.
With his bloodline development reaching 20%, his skin had indeed become noticeably paler—a change that had startled even himself.
Thankfully, he hadn't turned as white as Momoshiki or Urashiki, nor was he comparable to Orochimaru just yet.
Given that he'd already been quite fair-skinned to begin with, it wasn't hard to brush off the change.
"Most importantly, I didn't grow horns!"
Minamoto breathed a sigh of relief. If he had sprouted horns, he might've had to take a page out of Madara Uchiha's book and snap them off on the spot.
Although his appearance had undergone some unexpected changes, the rest of the transformation was overwhelmingly positive—especially his Chakra reserves, which had now reached the "Strong Kage" level.
To be honest, the concept of "Strong Kage" left him a bit puzzled.
But after thinking it over, he felt like he understood.
"A Kage is more of a conceptual title. Rasa, the Third Kazekage, was a Kage. So was the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju.
But can they really be compared to each other?"
Obviously not!
Could someone like Rasa even dream of comparing himself to Hashirama?
Of course not—he simply didn't have the qualifications!
Unless, of course, he was shameless enough to try...
"Very few individuals can truly be considered 'Strong Kage.' Reaching this level with just 20% development... the Ōtsutsuki bloodline really is something else."
Minamoto couldn't help but marvel at this fact. Beyond this level, perhaps the next milestone would be "Super Kage."
And those who could claim such a title were likely limited to two individuals who stood above all others...
"Why am I even thinking about this? That's a long way off. For now, I should focus on the fact that my physical strength has improved again."
Shaking his head, Minamoto clenched his fist slightly. He also noticed that his Chakra recovery rate had significantly increased.
"Not to mention, I can now sense Flying Thunder God seals from even greater distances."
Scanning his surroundings, he could clearly feel the scattered seals left by the Second and Fourth Hokage throughout various corners of Konohagakure.
This discovery excited him, though he knew better than to let it go to his head.
"My Chakra reserves have increased, but my combat experience, tactical awareness, and mastery of various techniques still leave much to be desired."
While having a strong foundation was undoubtedly a good thing, a ninja's true strength lay in their ability to skillfully utilize tactics and techniques.
Even without cheats, Sasuke and Naruto had managed to defeat Momoshiki. That Kashin Koji guy had relied on Jiraiya's combat instincts to force Isshiki to resurrect prematurely.
And let's not forget Kaguya Ōtsutsuki—she had been completely thrown off by Naruto's Reverse Harem Jutsu. Minamoto knew he still had a long way to go.
"Hey, why aren't you saying anything?"
Naruto pouted, his curiosity unabated.
"How did you get so white? Teach me! Maybe Sakura will start liking me!"
"Tch, the difference lies in our natural conditions, kid. You can't compare."
Snapping out of his thoughts, Minamoto smirked dismissively. Besides, it wasn't just his skin that had turned white.
Even his eyes had changed!
However, his eyes didn't resemble traditional Byakugan in appearance. Instead, they were more akin to how he remembered Hinata's future daughter, Himawari—features would only manifest when activated.
"Is it because of the Tailed Beast Chakra? Or is it related to the Chakra from the Asura lineage?"
Minamoto wasn't certain. Regardless, it was a huge help—at least he didn't need colored contact lenses anymore.
And as for his eyes...
"They seem to have inherited the traits of the Byakugan while also incorporating some characteristics of the Sharingan?"
He wasn't sure if this was related to the Chakra from the Three-Tails, but one thing was clear:
His eyes not only possessed the capabilities of the Byakugan, allowing him to see farther and with greater clarity, but they also granted impressive insight.
"Most importantly, my eyes have started absorbing Chakra again..."
The "saturation" he had felt before was gone, replaced by the familiar "hunger" from earlier.
Moreover, this time, his bones seemed to be absorbing even more Chakra, providing benefits that were difficult to quantify.
The only downside was that his bones felt like a bottomless pit.
"Looks like this will take a while to fully develop..."
Still, this wasn't a bad thing. After all, the advantage was his to exploit!
"You're such a jerk!"
Naruto scratched his ear, clearly annoyed but somewhat used to it by now. Still, he couldn't help feeling a little irritated.
Minamoto ignored him, his thoughts wandering before he suddenly spoke.
"Hey, Naruto, what do you think about me dyeing my hair white?"
"Huh?"
Naruto looked utterly baffled.
"Why would you do that?"
"Don't you think it would look cool? How about we both dye our hair white?"
For a ninja, changing hair color wasn't a big deal. While the Transformation Jutsu was an option, dyeing it directly might yield better results.
Since Minamoto's skin had already turned white, it was only a matter of time before his hair followed suit.
Rather than waiting passively, he figured he might as well take the initiative!
"Imagine going on a mission with Kakashi and Jiraiya—all three of us with white hair. Perfect coordination!"
Minamoto chuckled to himself at the thought, but Naruto shook his head vehemently.
"No way! I'm not doing it!"
"I'll pay for it. What's the big deal?"
"No!"
Naruto's head swung back and forth like a pendulum. At the mention of "paying," something seemed to trigger his instincts, and he immediately grew wary.
"Wait a minute, who's paying for dinner tonight? And let me tell you, I haven't gotten my allowance yet. Also, you better not ditch us halfway to go on another mission!"
"Why are you so paranoid?"
Minamoto couldn't help but laugh. Had he traumatized the kid that much?
"Those last two times were accidents! But at least I paid for one of them, didn't I?"
"You paid for one, but the other was covered by Grandpa Hokage! And I got scolded for days because of it!"
"Alright, alright, I forgot. But at least I didn't leave you stranded, did I?"
Naruto remained unconvinced, but Minamoto didn't press him further. The two continued bickering as they made their way to the dinner spot.
As they walked, Minamoto suddenly sensed something. He looked ahead and saw Sasuke walking alone, his solitary figure blending into the encroaching darkness.
"Tch, that guy..."
Naruto followed Minamoto's gaze and muttered under his breath, "He's really pushing himself."
"What do you mean?"
Minamoto was curious. He'd been too busy recently to keep up with Sasuke's activities.
"Well, it's your fault. Ever since you told him about 'hardworking geniuses,' he's been acting like a maniac."
Naruto huffed, crossing his arms.
"Every day after school, he heads straight to training and doesn't stop until late at night. Sometimes, he even ends up injuring himself."
"Is that so?"
Minamoto nodded thoughtfully. He knew Sasuke's determination well—he would've trained relentlessly regardless of what anyone said.
Still, he couldn't help but glance at Naruto with a curious expression.
"Why are you paying so much attention to him?"
"Because we got paired up for a sparring class last time..."
Naruto rubbed his face instinctively, as if he could still feel the pain.
"Argh! What a jerk!"
Well, Minamoto didn't need Naruto to elaborate. It was obvious—he'd probably been beaten up during the sparring session, which was why he was so fixated on Sasuke.
Watching Sasuke's retreating figure, Minamoto stroked his chin thoughtfully before speaking.
"Why don't we invite him to join us?"
"Huh?!"
Naruto's eyes widened in disbelief. Though he seemed tempted, he still protested.
"That guy's so cold and annoying. Why would we invite him?"
"Do you really think that?"
Minamoto raised an eyebrow, prompting Naruto to grumble in frustration.
"Ugh, fine! Let's just hurry up—I'm starving."
Minamoto didn't bother arguing further. Instead, he walked toward Sasuke.
With his recent power-up, he could now sense the deeply hidden Chakra within both Naruto and Sasuke more clearly than ever.
However, these Chakras remained dormant for now. Perhaps they simply needed more time to awaken.
"I just wonder when we'll get to go on missions again... and how much development those Chakras will bring me."
