Naruto: The Medical Shinobi

Chapter 151: Chapter 149: Timeskip

1st-year exams are near, and everyone was practicing hard for the exams. Six months have passed since Ryu acquired a company.

Ryu studied old seals and learned various lightning jutsus from Dan to enhance his combat skills and increase his tactical advantage and did not create or modify any new seals. Kakashi also came a few times to give him a few points, as he was thankful for saving his life through the seal Ryu had gifted him.

He has made significant progress with developing a new device, but it took more time than expected due to technological limitations. Additionally, he had to craft specialised tools, adding to the time investment. But after putting in a lot of hard work, he excelled in his project, and now he was ready to showcase his successful product.

He was currently running on the free training grounds designated specifically for academy students. He looked back with a sidelong glance, a smirk playing on his lips, and with a taunting tone, said, "You all are really slow. Try to keep up."

"Shut it," Saya said. "Don't make me catch you."

"You think you can catch me?" Ryu asked.

Saya struggled to keep up with Ryu, followed by Takeshi Yamamoto, Fumi Suzuki, and Kaito, all running with a parachute tugged behind them.

Ryu has popularised this particular product, sparking a trend among taijutsu trainees. As people saw him using it, they wanted it, so Ryu had an idea to make it properly through his company.

He pitched the idea to the workers of the company, and it wasn't hard to make. Initially they made some profits after they repurposed it as a toy for kids, and then copies started to come into the market. But Ryu's purpose was not money but to make the product available in the market. He was too lazy to make it himself every time his students broke it.

Ryu instructed them to address him as sensei when alone, emphasising the traditional respect in their training relationship, and they all agreed, albeit begrudgingly.

After the gruelling running session concluded, Kaito, sweat dripping down his face, his breath ragged, exclaimed, "Who trains like this? This is torture."

Ru said, "You are the one who wanted to get strong. Let me tell you, no pain, no gains."

Others also wanted to complain, but they did not, as they have begun to show signs of improvement in their taijutsu classes. The first year was about to end, and they had been training like this for the past three months. Unlike Ryu, who completed their basics in about one month, they took much more. Even just hitting the two-hour mark with the leaf-sticking exercise took them two months.

And as Ryu had promised, when they reached the two-hour mark, Ryu agreed to train them.

Once he started to train them, they were crushed by his physical training program designed to bring physical strength into the body along with speed, stamina, and strength. In just one month of the physical torture, they started to see the effects of the training and improvement in their physique. The regular taijutsu duels also seem to start becoming easy even if they did not win against top students of the academy.

The next step was a tree-climbing exercise for improving their chakra control, which took another three months. For a first year with a very small volume of chakra, it was evidently difficult, but due to them trying so hard, their chakra control and chakra volume expanded.

He announced, "After a short break, I will teach you water walking."

Kaito's eyes lit up when he heard that. "Water walking sounds much cooler than tree walking."

Ryu replied, "Cooler and difficult. You were last to learn tree walking; your chakra control is poorest here. You will have a hard time grasping water walking. But if you managed to do it, your chakra control will become better, and all jutsus will become relatively easy to perform. So do it seriously, unlike last time."

When Kaito heard him say all this, he contorted his ugly face and said, "Yes, sensei."

Ryu said, "Do you all really have to make that ugly face when you call me sensei?"

Everyone said in unison, "Yes," while looking at Ryu with annoyed faces.

Hearing that, Ryu made a funny face of his own and said, "ungrateful bitch," and then proceeded to walk. "I will be back in 10 minutes."

This has been his morning schedule for months now. It also helped him not skip training himself. All this training slowed his progress on the research end, but he didn't mind. He had many ideas, which will come sooner than later anyway; it was just a matter of trying. 10 minutes later, he came back and demonstrated water walking. Everyone was amazed, but not Saya.

"I already know how to do water walking," she said.

After she started showing some talent, thanks to Ryu, the Uchiha clan began to take interest in her; someone taught her stuff.

Ryu replied, "Then you keep running."

"Hey, that's not fair." Saya said.

Ryu replied, "Today you keep running; tomorrow I will prepare a chakra paper test for you and start chakra nature manipulation training."

Saya smiled hearing this and said, "Okay."

"Ok, then I will leave now, and we will meet at the academy." Ryu said and left them for self-training.

It was still very early in the morning, around dawn, with a few more hours left before the academy started. He went to his workshop to work on his projects. Upon entering, he saw a young lady and greeted her, "Good morning, Enjomi-san. You are early at work."

"Good morning, director. I am restocking the inventory," Enjomi Kaori said.

"Enjomi-san, I am pleased to inform you that the project was successful. It worked," Ryu told her, exuding confidence in his accomplishment.

As a secretary, she also knew what he was working on even if she was not an engineer herself. She looked at Ryu's creation and thought, 'Amazing. Now I understand why Lord Hokage wants to protect this kid, even going so far as to go against one of the elders and the entire root division. A new future is being built here. From what I have seen him do in the last 6 months, he is not your average kid. He is already stronger than a genin and comparable to a chunin.'

She said, "Director Ryu, you are amazing. This invention would be very useful for the general population, improving their daily lives, and will sell like hot cakes."

Ryu explained, "Yes, that's correct. However, to maximise its utility, I must pair it with another component. While it serves well for a basic demonstration, we need to prepare for the paired product. Please arrange a meeting with Masato-san. Keep the attendees limited to maintain confidentiality for the time being."

"Yes, boss," she said and gave a funny salute.

Ryu smiled and thought, "Where did the Third Hokage find such a young and cute ANBU? She thought she had fooled me, but I deduced her ninja status based on her chakra and physical fitness. Her chakra and her habit of always scanning for escape routes and potential threats in unfamiliar settings gave her identity away."

Ryu had started training his chakra sensing technique after midterms, as he needed more awareness; soon it became part of his peripheral awareness and became his passive ability.

In Leaf Village, the main sensory unit consists of the Yamanaka clan. Even if it's not a major secret, they still don't teach others superior sensing techniques and only teach poor ones, even if someone has paid to teach them.

But fortunately, Ryu had a grandfather who knew two of the best sensors of the last 100 years. Both the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and Mito Uzumaki were world-renowned sensors of their time and were better than most ninjas alive today.

Dan was not a sensor himself, as he lacked the specific talent required for a sensory ninja, but he had been taught the principles of chakra sensing, so it wasn't difficult for him to teach Ryu, and Ryu, being a knowledge sponge, learnt everything at lightning speed.

The training was far from easy, yet it was essential for their growth. It was even difficult with the current training method, and both Tobirmama and Mito had developed many fuinjutsu seals to reinforce learning to become a sensor by making sensing harder during training phases to make the user more precise and ranged when it comes to chakra sensing.

Ryu realised that his secretary was a sensor herself, as she kept her chakra suppressed most of the time, and sometimes she slipped up, as one can't suppress their chakra for very long, and any break in concentration will flare up their chakra for a second.

Ryu instructed her, "Enjomi-san, please schedule the meeting and ensure that it aligns with holidays. I have a 1st-year exam next week. Schedule the meeting after it."

"Yes, boss," Enjomi replied and quickly got to work writing a note addressed to the executives of the company.
