Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Perfect Jinchūriki, Cannot Be Copied
Shinki had laid things out clearly: stop restricting Kushina. Doing so would only backfire, and the consequences could be disastrous.
For the Third Hokage, this situation wasn't a cause for celebration. Instead, it was a massive headache. Konoha had gained another powerhouse, but like Shinki, Kushina was unpredictable and difficult to control.
Shinki, at least, was a Konoha native. His roots were firmly planted in the village, and his contradictions stayed internal. But Kushina was different—she had been the little princess of the Uzumaki Clan before being brought to Konoha after her clan's downfall.
Though Kushina was spirited and seemed loyal, no one could guarantee how deeply she felt connected to Konoha, especially now that she had mastered the Nine-Tails' power.
If the village tried to keep her forcibly, it might work before. But now?
Now Kushina held the power to resist—and succeed.
Letting her go was nerve-wracking, but holding her back could spark conflict.
The Third Hokage sighed, his mind racing for a solution.
"Ahem!"
Homura's pointed cough interrupted the Hokage's musings. The elder advisor gave him a sharp look, silently urging him to act rather than brood.
"What?"
The Third Hokage blinked in confusion.
Homura shook his head in exasperation and decided to step in.
"Shinki, your plan has merit. However, Kushina has never left the village and lacks experience in the world. Hiruzen and I believe that, when she does leave, you should personally accompany her. Will that be acceptable?"
"Of course," Shinki replied smoothly, his calm gaze locking on Homura. "I wouldn't feel comfortable letting her go alone anyway. Until she matures, she'll always be under the supervision of myself or Tsunade."
Homura nodded approvingly.
The Third Hokage finally understood. Homura had effectively put Shinki in charge of Kushina, keeping her under a watchful eye while also granting her the freedom she sought.
"Since that's settled," the Hokage said, "there will be no further restrictions on Kushina. However, she must exercise better self-control. Today's events caused a significant impact on the village, and it cannot happen again."
"Don't worry," Shinki assured him. "Any damages will be compensated in full."
Tsunade, however, wasn't thrilled with this arrangement.
She grimaced, already calculating how much money she'd need to scrape together.
But Kushina? The "little rich woman" didn't seem concerned at all.
"I'll pay for everything! I'll rebuild the houses, and I'll make my own even bigger!" she declared, unfazed by the responsibility.
The Hokage lit his pipe, leaning back in his chair. "What about secrecy?" he asked gravely.
This was no trivial matter. The sight of Kushina wielding the Nine-Tails' power had been witnessed by many—villagers, ninja, and potentially spies from other villages. If the information leaked, it could spell trouble for Konoha.
"Secrecy? What secrecy?"
Shinki's casual response made everyone freeze.
The Hokage sat up straight, his pipe clattering onto his desk. "Shinki, don't joke about something so serious!"
Shinki chuckled softly, standing and adjusting his robes.
"I'm not joking. There's no need to keep this secret. Let the news spread. In fact, I want the spies to carry this information back to their villages."
"???"
The Third Hokage and the others were stunned.
Akimichi Torifu and Nara Shikashin exchanged bewildered glances.
Shikashin finally ventured, "Shinki… are you serious?"
"Absolutely."
Shinki folded his arms, his voice steady and confident.
"Here's the thing: the perfect Jinchūriki cannot be copied. Even if other villages learn about Kushina's achievement, they won't be able to replicate it. Achieving this level of mastery requires specific circumstances—circumstances that can't simply be reproduced by following instructions."
Shinki leaned forward, his gaze locking onto the Hokage's.
"Think about it. If we try to suppress this information, we'll waste valuable resources, and the effort might fail anyway. Instead, by allowing the news to spread, we'll project Konoha's strength. The ninja world will see that our village has a perfect Jinchūriki—and they'll think twice before challenging us."
The room fell silent as the logic sank in.
Finally, Shikashin spoke up, breaking the tension.
"Shinki's approach might actually work. By showcasing Kushina's strength, we not only demonstrate our power but also discourage other villages from trying to replicate it."
The Hokage frowned, puffing on his pipe. "What about Kushina's freedom? What if she turns against us?"
Homura shook his head.
"Do you really think Kushina would leave, Hiruzen?"
The Hokage hesitated. "Why wouldn't she? She's not originally from Konoha—"
"Exactly," Homura interrupted. "That's precisely why she won't leave. Kushina may not have been born here, but she's made her home here. The bonds she's formed—her friendships, her dreams, her connection to the village—are stronger than you realize."
Shinki nodded in agreement.
"Kushina doesn't want to leave. She just wants to live like any other ninja—free to explore, free to take missions, free to grow. If we give her that freedom, she'll stay. If we try to cage her, we'll lose her trust."
The Third Hokage sighed again, feeling the weight of the situation.
"Fine," he said at last. "We'll do it your way. But if anything goes wrong, Shinki, it's on you."
"Of course," Shinki said with a small smile, bowing respectfully before turning to leave.
As he walked out, the Hokage leaned back in his chair, muttering under his breath.
"This kid… always so unpredictable."
Meanwhile, Kushina was busy measuring the size of her dream house again, oblivious to the fact that she had just become one of Konoha's greatest assets.
Within her consciousness, Kurama chuckled.
"She may be a little reckless, but this brat is the most promising host I've ever had."
