Chapter 426: Chapter 426: Domestication of Humanity
"You said you are my future husband, isn't this your responsibility?" Kaguya's words left Shishou momentarily stunned.
Her logic was hard to refute since he had been emphasizing his role as her future husband. But this also meant he had inadvertently become the father of the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo, and the ancestor of the Hyuga clan, Hamura.
Well, being their father could have its perks, Shishou mused. This way, he could perhaps leverage their Six Paths Chakra more easily, and maybe even awaken his Rinnegan further. Since Kaguya would never willingly share her chakra, Shishou's focus shifted to these two infants.
"Fine, I'll help take care of them, but you need to be involved too," Shishou said.
Kaguya shook her head. "It's a waste of time for me."
Shishou countered, "I also need time to search for Otsutsuki Isshiki."
Hearing this, Kaguya conceded. To her, finding Isshiki's whereabouts was far more critical, and other matters could be compromised on.
Kaguya then led Shishou back to her palace in the Land of Ancestors. She planned to have the palace maids take care of the babies when Shishou left to search for Isshiki.
After Kaguya had descended to the Land of Ancestors, the local daimyo took a liking to her. However, he was quickly killed, and his palace was taken over by Kaguya.
"Goddess," the palace maids greeted Kaguya with fear in their eyes as she returned. Kaguya gestured towards Shishou, saying, "From now on, you will follow his orders."
"Yes," the maids replied, sneaking glances at Shishou and the two infants in his arms, not daring to question Kaguya's decision.
Shishou then said, "I am Kaguya's husband. You can address me as Your Highness."
The maids looked at Shishou in shock, unable to fathom the goddess having a husband. Kaguya did not refute Shishou's words and simply walked towards her room. After all, she had used this very reason to have Shishou take care of the babies.
After Kaguya left, Shishou began instructing the maids, having them prepare everything needed for the children, including selecting two wet nurses to care for Hagoromo and Hamura.
With the babies now in the care of the wet nurses, Shishou headed to Kaguya's room. As he approached, he heard her say, "The chair here isn't as comfortable as the one you made earlier. Make another one for me."
Shishou couldn't help but smile. The recliner he had made was designed with ergonomics in mind, naturally making it very comfortable.
He had the servants bring some leather and fabric, then used Wood Release to craft a comfortable and exquisite recliner for both Kaguya and himself.
Lying on the recliner next to Kaguya, Shishou asked, "Kaguya, how do you plan to cultivate your Divine Tree?"
Kaguya replied expressionlessly, "I'll have those ants outside perform the sacrifices."
Because of the power Shishou held, which Kaguya equated to her own, she viewed him as someone of the same caliber. To her, the rest of humanity were mere ants.
To make the Divine Tree bear fruit again, Kaguya needed to provide it with vast amounts of energy, which could also be used to create White Zetsu soldiers.
Hearing this, Shishou inwardly sighed. "If you continue this way, you'll eventually be sealed by your two sons, then break free only to be sealed again."
Quite tragic, really, he thought.
"Ordinary people can't provide much chakra. If you want the Divine Tree to bear fruit quickly, you'll need a different approach," Shishou suggested.
Kaguya was silent for a moment before asking, "What do you propose?"
"Breeding animals," Shishou said casually.
Kaguya nodded, "That's a good idea. We should domesticate all of humanity and have them produce offspring continuously."
Domesticate all of humanity? That's a terrifying thought.
Hearing Kaguya's serious response, Shishou quickly corrected, "I meant breeding animals, not humans."
Kaguya looked at Shishou with genuine curiosity, "Is there a difference?"
To Kaguya, there was no distinction between humans and animals; both were just ants to her.
Shishou paused, then explained, "Animals are easier to care for."
"I see. Humans are indeed difficult to rear," Kaguya agreed.
Eighteen years to maturity was quite long.
"How do you plan to breed animals?" Kaguya asked.
"That's simple," Shishou began, launching into an explanation.
As the hidden mastermind behind many breeding farms in the ninja world, Shishou was well-versed in animal husbandry.
As Shishou spoke, Kaguya nodded occasionally, though she understood none of it. She nodded only to avoid appearing ignorant in front of Shishou.
Having noticed Kaguya's pretense, Shishou eventually paused and asked, "What did I just say?"
"Uh..." Kaguya was momentarily at a loss, a rare look of embarrassment crossing her face.
Seeing her reaction and fearing her wrath, Shishou quickly changed the subject, "I'd like to see your space-time dimension, Amenominaka."
Kaguya's attention shifted, and she looked at Shishou in surprise, "You know about Amenominaka?"
Shishou seemed to understand her very well. Could he really be her husband?
"Of course. As your husband, I naturally know your abilities well," Shishou replied confidently.
"You've said that many times today," Kaguya responded flatly.
Today alone, Shishou had emphasized it at least ten times.
"Because it's the truth, and you've acknowledged it," Shishou said with a smile.
As they say, a lie repeated often enough becomes the truth.
Amused by his own thoughts, Shishou found himself in Kaguya's Amenominaka space the next moment. A grand castle stood before them, with a towering statue of Kaguya gleaming in the light.
