Chapter 424: Chapter 424: Helping Kaguya with Her Delivery

As this thought emerged, Shishou suddenly understood something. He had always wondered why the power gap between the Sage of Six Paths and his two sons was so vast, yet he and his brother Hamura were able to seal Kaguya, who had consumed the God Tree's fruit.

The reason was that the two of them were originally born from the power of the God Tree. Although their power was inferior to Kaguya's, they were at least on the same level. This naturally enabled them to seal Kaguya and the Ten-Tails.

However, the Great Toad Sage was indeed cunning, using rumors to deceive the ignorant Kaguya, thereby weakening her power.

Still, this was beneficial for him. Now, he just needed to ensure that history followed its proper course.

With this in mind, Shishou began asking the Great Slug Sage about a person named Jigen.

Jigen was a monk who practiced natural energy and was now being controlled by Otsutsuki Isshiki. To strengthen his relationship with Kaguya, helping her eliminate Isshiki, her biggest threat, was the best way.

The Kara organization founded by Isshiki only appeared in Boruto and had minimal impact on historical events, allowing Shishou to hunt him down without concern.

Of course, to be safe, Shishou needed to further solidify his relationship with Kaguya before killing Isshiki.

After a few more minutes of conversation with the Great Slug Sage, Shishou asked her to help locate Jigen and keep his arrival a secret.

To make the Great Slug Sage truly believe him, Shishou also showed her the human form she would take. Seeing that Shishou even knew her human appearance, the Great Slug Sage was convinced of their close relationship.

After all, the only one who knew the Great Slug Sage's human form was herself.

Shishou revealing her secrets time and again left her no choice but to believe him.

"Little Slug, there's one more thing I need you to do for me," Shishou said after gaining her trust.

"What is it?" the Great Slug Sage asked curiously.

Shishou created a shadow clone and explained, "I don't know how much time will pass when I return, so I want to seal a shadow clone in you to make arrangements for my companions."

Although time travel through the Dragon Vein in the original story took only an instant, Shishou wanted to prepare for any eventuality. He planned to seal a shadow clone within the Great Slug Sage, set to awaken at a specific time to convey messages and make arrangements for Tsunade and the others.

This way, even if he didn't return to the same time point, the clone could inform them half an hour after his disappearance, ensuring they wouldn't worry.

The Great Slug Sage agreed, albeit reluctantly, allowing Shishou to seal a shadow clone within her. He then used the Transfer Seal to set the trigger condition for the clone's release: half an hour after his banishment by Nagato.

To prevent any mishaps, Shishou used a sealing technique to erase the Great Slug Sage's memory of the event.

Despite her frustration at Shishou's actions, the Great Slug Sage was eventually appeased by his coaxing.

Shishou then left Shikkotsu Forest and headed towards the Wind Country's future location, searching for traces of the Dragon Vein to return to his original time.

Unfortunately, while the landmasses hadn't changed much over a thousand years, the drastic environmental changes made it difficult to pinpoint his location. What was now a sandy desert had once been a primeval forest.

After several days of fruitless searching, Shishou sighed and decided to buy some supplies before visiting Kaguya again.

To strengthen his claim as her future husband, he needed to maintain regular contact.

Upon arriving at the forest outside the Land of Ancestors' capital, Kaguya immediately intercepted him.

Glancing at the items in Shishou's hands, Kaguya directly asked, "Have you found Isshiki's whereabouts?"

"Isshiki is very strong. Finding him won't be easy," Shishou shook his head.

Kaguya frowned, "Then why have you returned?"

For Kaguya, Isshiki's whereabouts were her primary concern.

Shishou placed the gifts on the ground and pressed his hand against the earth.

With a rumble, wooden constructs emerged, quickly forming a large, luxurious wooden courtyard.

Having done this, Shishou turned to Kaguya and smiled, "I've come to help you with your problem."

Kaguya looked down at her swollen belly. "You can remove this?"

Her large belly was indeed inconvenient.

"Of course," Shishou replied confidently.

He had learned from the Great Slug Sage how to help Hamura and Hagoromo be born.

In other words, he was here to deliver Kaguya's babies.

He then grew his body to match Kaguya's size and took her hand. Though it was interesting to have an older sister figure, moments of tenderness were somewhat troublesome.

Kaguya frowned as she looked into Shishou's Mangekyō Sharingan. "This is the power of the God Tree."

The Otsutsuki clan's eyes were the Byakugan, and Kaguya's Rinne Sharingan on her forehead was a Kekkei Mōra obtained after consuming the God Tree's fruit. Therefore, she categorized Shishou's Sharingan as the power of the God Tree.

This surprised Kaguya; she thought she was the only one with the God Tree's power.

Shishou held Kaguya's hand and said matter-of-factly, "I am your husband, naturally possessing power on the same level as yours. Isn't that normal?"

"It's just that my power currently falls short of yours, unable to achieve immortality."

"Moreover, having traveled a thousand years through time, my power has been greatly diminished."

Kaguya nodded in agreement. If Shishou also possessed the God Tree's power, he could indeed be a suitable match for her.

Perhaps that was why she chose him in the future?
