Naruto: Starting with the Ōtsutsuki Bloodline

Chapter 102: Chapter 101: I’m Just Trying to Find Where Your Real Body Is!

Chapter 101: I'm Just Trying to Find Where Your Real Body Is!

The Fourth Raikage's greatest pride had always been the overwhelming speed and power he could unleash using his Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

With such explosive force, he truly believed that few across the entire shinobi world could stand against him.

In terms of sheer speed, he had always thought no one could match him—maybe Namikaze Minato once had, but that man had been dead for over a decade. As far as he was concerned, no one alive came close to catching up.

And yet now, from out of nowhere, appeared a completely unknown brat with terrifying strength.

Not only had this kid mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique, but…

"He's even learned my taijutsu?"

The Raikage stared in disbelief as Kitagawa Gen suddenly flashed across the battlefield, his body crackling with brilliant lightning, appearing right at the side of the orange-haired man—Tendo Pain.

In the next instant, Gen assumed the textbook "Lariat" stance for attack—though this kid used a short sword instead of a hand blade, the form was unmistakably his own!

"This damn kid…"

While the Raikage was still caught between rage and disbelief, Gen's blade came slashing down.

BOOM—!

With a thunderous crack, the ground split apart, leaving a deep fissure in the earth.

Gen raised an eyebrow—somehow, a wall of debris had appeared between him and Pain, deflecting the blow.

"Shinra Tensei?"

No… Gen quickly realized it was the opposite—Pain had used Bansho Ten'in, pulling up chunks of stone from underground to form a protective wall.

"So, you've really come prepared."

As Pain charged toward him, Gen launched himself forward as well.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

In the blink of an eye, the two figures clashed repeatedly, vanishing and reappearing throughout the forest.

White Fang's short blade clashed violently with Pain's black chakra rods, sending out sparks and a deafening metal screech each time.

As their chakra flared, the high-pitched clashes turned into explosive booms. Trees snapped like twigs, and the ground fractured beneath their feet, spiderweb cracks spreading rapidly outward.

With the dual boost of Lightning Release Chakra Mode and Sage Mode, Gen moved with blinding speed—faster than he'd ever thought possible.

"And for once, I don't have to worry about my eyes failing to keep up."

Kakashi had once nearly killed himself with Chidori because his normal eyes couldn't track his own movements fast enough. But Gen? His vision was crystal-clear.

"Still, Pain's taijutsu and physical durability are stronger than I expected…"

He couldn't help but think it—even as his relentless assault continued. Then again, it made sense. Pain had been trained by Jiraiya, and his body had clearly been modified.

From what Gen remembered, even a berserk Naruto hadn't been able to damage him—only after a Rasengan finally disrupted the chakra flow inside did Pain falter.

There were likely two reasons for that:

1. Nagato was running low on chakra after a prolonged battle.

2. Naruto's Rasengan had disrupted Pain's chakra long enough to let him yank out one of those chakra rods.

"Naruto himself said those rods were the key. If you pull them out, the bodies stop moving…"

Regardless, Gen felt confident he could handle Tendo Pain.

"After all… I know your secrets!"

BOOM—

Suddenly, his chakra surged. In the same instant, he flung several kunai and appeared right at Pain's side.

With a swing of his blade, cloaked in violet lightning, he slashed directly toward Pain's neck.

"Bansho Ten'in!"

Pain had been anticipating this. As soon as Gen moved, he crouched and slammed a hand to the ground.

Chunks of stone tore from the earth and rose around him—but then he looked up in alarm. One of the kunai had flown over his head.

A split second later, Gen appeared mid-air above him, ready to strike.

"Shinra Tensei!"

A wave of invisible repulsion burst out, blasting Gen away before he could land the blow.

But even as he was thrown back, the purple figure twisted midair and landed perfectly atop a broken tree trunk.

"Your tricks don't work on me."

Pain didn't chase after him. Instead, he spoke calmly, coldly.

"I've already seen through everything, brat."

"Is that so?" Gen tilted his head, then gave a small, amused smile.

"I'm just curious about one thing. Back in the Hidden Mist, when I ran into Uchiha Obito… he was pretending to be Madara.

"He's part of your organization, isn't he? So… do you really know who he is?"

"You're asking such a pointless question before your death?" Pain shook his head, his tone colder than ever.

"Does it matter who he is? Not at all.

"What matters is what he can do for us.

"Whether he's Madara Uchiha, or some no-name like Obito—it makes no difference to me.

"So no, your question isn't even worth answering."

"I see." Gen nodded. Just as he expected.

Obito's wanted posters were plastered across the continent. There was no way Nagato hadn't suspected something.

But suspicion was one thing—trust was another.

From the beginning, neither Nagato nor Konan had ever truly trusted Obito.

Obito's idea of peace was to trap the world in an illusion—a dream where everyone could live out their fantasies.

But Nagato's version of peace was something else entirely: he wanted to become a god, to crush the world beneath his heel.

A world ruled by fear and power, where resistance and war would be impossible. If enemies remained, he alone would face them.

"A god, huh…"

For some reason, the thought made Gen recall an old Gundam series he'd watched ages ago.

Those people had the same kind of misguided ideals.

---

"Finished your questions?"

Pain judged that enough time had passed. He spoke again:

"Then it's time to end this. Like Jiraiya-sensei, you've strayed from the right path. Both of you—"

"Hold on."

Gen interrupted with a grin.

"I've got the Flying Thunder God Technique—I can appear and disappear at will.

Do you really think you can catch me?"

Pain raised a brow—he had no retort.

"Besides, I think I've figured out how your abilities work: repulsion and attraction, right?"

Gen cracked his neck, still smiling.

"Oh, and I discovered two little secrets: one, the cooldown between your jutsu is about five seconds, right?"

Pain's expression didn't change, but his eyes did—just barely.

"You're careful. You keep knocking away my kunai, and you never let me touch you in melee—you've clearly learned your lesson.

But I've been observing. Using Flying Thunder God to test your limits, I think I've worked it out.

(Truthfully, Gen was bluffing—but that was the point: to throw Pain off.)

"And here's the biggest secret—your chakra feels wrong.

Those black rods are constantly transmitting chakra from the outside. Which means…"

Whoosh—

Before he could finish, Gen vanished and reappeared right in front of Pain!

"Hmph!"

Pain didn't dare use his abilities recklessly. He countered instantly, thrusting a black rod forward—

But the moment he struck, Gen burst into crackling electricity!

"A lightning clone?! When—?!"

No time to think—kunai suddenly erupted around him in every direction. Within seconds, they multiplied into thousands, pouring down like a rainstorm.

Then from behind him, Gen surged out from the ground, blade gleaming.

His voice pierced the air—echoing not just in Pain's ears, but all the way to Nagato's.

"You're just a puppet."

"Why do you think I dragged this out so long?"

"I've been looking for your real body!"

"So… what do you think?"

"Did I find it?"

---

While Gen and Tendo Pain were locked in their intense fight, chaos was unfolding everywhere else too.

"Die, Kakashi!"

"Pointless. I've already seen through your jutsu."

Kakashi was locked in combat with Obito, though something felt… off.

Obito's ability could be countered now—Kakashi wasn't as skilled with Kamui, but he was getting better. He could at least disrupt Obito's phasing.

But what stunned him more was Obito's durability. He'd landed multiple clean hits—yet the guy was still going strong.

"And what's going on in Takigakure? Why has Obito lost his mind?"

To Kakashi, Obito wasn't thinking straight. His attacks were dangerous—but chaotic.

That was fine by him. He was ready to end this—once and for all.

"I need to move faster. Gen's facing someone truly dangerous."

Jiraiya was thinking the same thing.

They still remembered the Dust Release Ohnoki dropped back in the Land of Earth—and how it had been blocked.

So many questions remained—like why Yahiko had the Rinnegan, and what other secrets lay hidden.

"Tsunade, are you holding up?"

Jiraiya glanced at his old teammate.

"I'm fine. For now."

Tsunade nodded, eyes still on Uchiha Itachi nearby.

"But who knows how long that'll last. Damn it…"

"Understood. I'll handle it."

Jiraiya nodded. He couldn't help feeling a little jealous of Gen's mastery of Sage Mode.

But now wasn't the time. He had to give it his all too.

"Then… let's do this."

He decided to summon Gamabunta to buy time—but before he could even form a hand seal, he suddenly looked up.

"…What is that?"

Not just him—everyone, even the frenzied Obito, seemed to sense something.

Their heads turned skyward—and in the next instant, a colossal shockwave ripped through the area!

BOOM—

The forest was torn apart. Trees shattered, rocks and roads crumbled.

And far in the distance, a mushroom cloud bloomed silently in the forest.
