Naruto: Starting with the Ōtsutsuki Bloodline

Chapter 101: Chapter 100: That’s My Jutsu!

Chapter 100: That's My Jutsu!

As Gen's words fell, the entire scene was instantly plunged into silence.

Tsunade and Shizune stared in disbelief at Pain and his group. Even the Fourth Raikage—who had been brimming with murderous intent toward the Konoha shinobi—was momentarily stunned by what he'd just heard.

Jiraiya and Kakashi, while always suspecting that this group's goals were dangerous, didn't think they were this extreme.

But for now, neither of them spoke. After all, changing the world had to involve some kind of method—and they wanted to know what this organization truly intended.

Suddenly, the Fourth Raikage's eyes widened as if struck by a thought.

"Wait—how did that brat suddenly appear behind me?!"

He looked at Gen in disbelief, a sudden suspicion flashing through his mind.

"That little bastard… Did he really leave a Flying Thunder God mark on me?!"

"You're spouting nonsense, brat!" Pain frowned, but before he could say anything else, Gen cut him off.

"Did I say something wrong? I remember you lot talking about changing the world, creating peace—wasn't that it?"

Pain furrowed his brows and nodded slightly. Gen immediately followed up.

"But the human heart is greedy. Wherever there are people, there will be conflict.

So, the simplest solution… would be to erase all life from this world, wouldn't it?

That way, there'd be no one left to start any more wars."

"…"

Pain didn't speak, but his hand slowly curled into a fist.

Tsunade shot a sharp glare at Jiraiya and Kakashi—no words needed to be exchanged; her look said it all.

"Or… do you have some other plan?" Gen continued, thoughtfully rubbing his chin as if something had just occurred to him.

"Like… maybe randomly wiping out half the population of the ninja world?"

"…"

"After all, the world has limited resources, but humanity's reproduction is endless. Doing that would ensure long-term sustainability, while giving the remaining population just enough fear to avoid war. Peace would follow naturally, right?"

"…"

Pain felt his fists clench tighter. What kind of twisted logic is this?! Were they really that extreme?

But Gen still looked completely unbothered. He tilted his head and asked softly:

"Or maybe… you have another method for this so-called 'revolution'?"

"Of course we do—" Pain began to answer instinctively, then abruptly cut himself off.

His fists were clenched so tightly now they trembled. Coldly, he stared at Gen and the others and spoke with icy finality:

"But there's no point trying to probe for my secrets. You'd better worry about surviving first."

He genuinely didn't want to talk to Gen anymore. He'd initially considered discussing ideology with Jiraiya, perhaps even having a mentor-versus-student battle afterward.

But now? He didn't want to say a single more word.

His chakra surged—yet even then, a thought flashed in his mind.

"That guy pretending to be Uchiha Madara… what's his deal? Did he clash with this brat too?"

Pain had long suspected the truth about that man. He wasn't stupid. Some truths didn't need to be spoken aloud. Their current relationship was built on mutual exploitation—and that was fine by him.

"Is it time to fight?"

Gen raised an eyebrow, then suddenly smiled.

"You guys tailed us the moment we arrived in the Land of the Waterfalls.

Based on what you did in Kirigakure, Iwagakure—even Konoha…

Don't tell me your plan this time is to assassinate the Fourth Raikage?"

"?!"

"Oh—and earlier, I noticed one of your comrades sneaking into Takigakure. Their target didn't seem simple either, so…"

"Shut up!!"

Pain had had enough. He didn't want to hear one more word from this infuriating brat. Who knew what he might expose next?

In a flash, Pain vanished and reappeared directly in front of Gen Gen. A black chakra rod formed in his hand as he thrust it forward with deadly precision!

"Watch out!"

Even Jiraiya hadn't expected Pain to move so suddenly. He was still digesting Gen's earlier words. As he rushed forward to intervene, Kisame unleashed his own jutsu.

"Water Style: Exploding Water Colliding Wave!"

With a massive surge of chakra, a torrent of water erupted from Kisame's mouth, instantly flooding the entire area into a massive artificial lake.

Jiraiya, Kakashi, and Tsunade quickly leapt aside. The Fourth Raikage and Shizune dodged in opposite directions.

"Coming for my head, are they?"

The Raikage's eyes flickered. He no longer knew who to believe—but it was clear this wasn't the time to hesitate.

Everyone was already fighting!

"Tch. You again."

Kisame scoffed as he faced Jiraiya, hefting Samehada onto his shoulder and pointing it menacingly forward.

"Whatever—makes no difference. This time, you won't be getting lucky."

"Outta my way, shark-face."

Jiraiya had no time for nonsense. He wasn't interested in wasting energy here—he had to get to Yahiko.

"Lady Tsunade—what an honor."

On another battlefield, Uchiha Itachi stood cautiously, yet politely greeted Tsunade.

"Great, an Uchiha…"

Tsunade groaned. She didn't particularly want to be involved in a fight like this. She knew her own limitations—but thankfully, Kakashi was nearby.

"That's Uchiha Itachi. The one who slaughtered his entire clan. But judging by earlier movements, someone else is here too. Be careful!"

"Kakashi!"

Before he could finish his warning, his Sharingan flared. Kakashi shouted a warning to Tsunade as he swiftly leapt aside.

But just as he did, Uchiha Obito emerged from his personal space-time dimension, whipping a chain toward Kakashi with brutal force!

"Obito!"

Kakashi recognized him immediately, though something felt… off. Obito's emotions weren't right. Something was seriously wrong.

Not only was Obito's emotional state off, but even his appearance was suspicious.

Even with a mask on, it was obvious something was wrong—part of it was missing, his clothes were tattered, and one of his arms was completely exposed.

And that arm… clearly wasn't normal.

"White... is it transplanted?"

Kakashi evaded swiftly, muttering to himself before narrowing his eyes and speaking.

"So it really was you that Gen encountered in the Hidden Waterfall. What's your objective?"

"My objective?"

Obito almost laughed in disbelief. His mind flashed back to the ten chaotic minutes in the Hidden Waterfall Village.

It was the first time he'd realized just how shameless one person could be.

That brat had impersonated him, stirred up trouble, and then had the gall to pin everything on him.

Not only that—he even used despicable, underhanded techniques! Obito was absolutely livid.

"Forget my objective. Let's talk about you, Kakashi. You're pathetic."

"...?"

"Only a useless man like you could raise a disciple that's so disgracefully shameless!"

"..."

"I honestly wonder—when you die, will that despicable little brat even mourn you?"

"..."

Seeing the increasingly unhinged Obito, Kakashi sighed internally.

He wasn't sure what had happened, but it was obvious: Kitagawa Gen had done something outrageous again.

To push Obito to this level of fury… now that was rare.

Still, Kakashi really wanted to clarify: some of Gen's habits and behavior...

Were totally not his responsibility!

---

"So it's a full-scale battle now?"

Kitagawa Gen wasn't surprised that Pain had zeroed in on him.

After all, that highly-targeted verbal barrage he'd delivered? Anyone would've lost composure.

"I wonder how Obito's holding up… and what's happening with Tsunade."

Gen continued dodging Pain's fierce assault while keeping a mental note of the battlefield.

Tsunade was probably still struggling with her hemophobia.

Then again, Gen figured "hemophobia" wasn't the full story—it was more psychological trauma.

She had twice witnessed the people she loved most collapse in a pool of blood. That gruesome imagery had become a haunting nightmare.

Whenever she saw blood, those memories would flood back, pushing her toward mental collapse—and rendering her unable to fully utilize her strength.

---

"You're still daydreaming while fighting me?"

Pain suddenly growled lowly, thrusting a sharp black rod toward Gen with lightning speed.

"How do you know I'm daydreaming?"

Gen raised an eyebrow. In the next instant, his entire aura shifted. Crimson eye shadow bloomed on his face, and his pupils turned completely white.

"That form… it's that special transformation?"

Pain immediately recognized it—intel had prepared him well. It was exactly what Jiraiya had once told them about.

"So you've mastered Jiraiya-sensei's Sage Mode? Impressive. But it's pointless. Because—"

Pain's voice hardened as Gen suddenly flickered forward, his White Fang blade lunging directly at him.

Power surged violently from within Pain's body as he shouted:

"In front of these eyes, you stand no chance!"

A powerful repulsive force erupted around them.

"Shinra Tensei, huh?"

Gen's expression didn't change. He allowed the force to throw him back—just as he planned.

While flying backward, his hands rapidly formed hand signs, chakra flaring wildly.

"Sage Art: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Just as Shinra Tensei's effect ceased, a massive fireball surged toward Pain like a roaring comet.

Pain clicked his tongue. Though this body wasn't afraid of fire techniques, he still leapt backward.

He couldn't afford to let Yahiko's body take unnecessary damage—even if it was minor.

But just then, countless kunai tore through the flames in a storm of steel.

"Flying Thunder God Technique?!"

Pain instantly recognized the signature move.

After so many run-ins with Gen, the Akatsuki had gathered plenty of intel on him.

If he dared show up here, there was no way he came unprepared.

Seeing the dense rain of kunai, Pain leapt further back, staying alert for Gen's sudden arrival.

Meanwhile, the Fourth Raikage, who still hadn't been drawn into the fight, turned to Shizune.

"What the hell is going on here? What's Konoha even doing?"

"I don't know either."

Shizune shook her head, visibly confused.

"But Lord Raikage, if they really are here to assassinate you—we'll protect you."

"..."

The Raikage clenched his right fist. Assassinate me?

More like you people hired them!

Of course, he couldn't say that aloud. If he were in Konoha's position, he might've resorted to underhanded tricks, too.

---

BZZZZZZ—!

Suddenly, a sharp electrical sound ripped through the air.

BOOM—!

A thunderous explosion followed, rocking the entire battlefield.

The Raikage turned his head just in time to see—

"Wait a damn second… is that MY jutsu?!"

His molars nearly cracked in fury.

That brat was using HIS technique?!
