Time moved like a passing breeze.

Before anyone noticed, forty-five years had passed since the founding of Konoha.

Now twelve years old, Guts stood tall at over 1.7 meters—towering for his age.

Despite being a Konoha Jōnin, he had never once worn the signature flak vest.

Instead, he preferred a black leather jacket over a simple shirt and jeans—more casual, but fitting him perfectly.

His muscular frame filled out the outfit naturally. Anyone could tell at a glance—this kid had put in serious work.

Today, he returned from the famous casino on Short Book Street, nestled in the Land of Fire. Not for fun, though. He was on a mission.

More precisely, he was returning to Tsunade's house. Though, after six years of living together, it was safe to say it was his home too.

"You did it? Sixty-six million ryo?"

Tsunade raised her eyebrows, her expression stuck somewhere between shock and pride.

He didn't answer—just walked in, calm as ever. She looked the same as always—twenties, maybe twenty-five at most, thanks to her perfected Hundred Healings Mark.

A sigh left her lips.

"I knew you could handle it. My student's no joke."

Guts walked past her with no expression, casually reached out—and gave her a light slap on her ass.

"Taking a little interest," he muttered.

Tsunade's eyes widened in disbelief. She spun around, hands flying.

"Damn brat! Where do you think you're touching!?"

The scuffle lasted five minutes, give or take. Mostly shouting. Some wrestling.

When things finally calmed, Guts looked around the living room—empty sake bottles, half-eaten takeout, dice still lying on the table.

"I was gone a few hours," he muttered, eyes twitching.

"How does this place fall apart so fast? You're supposed to be a grown woman."

Tsunade didn't even look up.

"Where did i put that thing earlier, again?"

Before he could reply, the front door creaked open.

"Guts, Tsunade-sama?"

Yuhi Kurenai walked in with quiet steps. Taller than before, more composed, her crimson eyes scanned the mess. A small smile played on her lips.

"Again? Seriously, you two…"

Sometimes, she came over with Shizune to clean.

This time, while sweeping the floor, she leaned in close to Guts and whispered—eyes flicking toward the other room, where Tsunade had gone back to playing dice.

"…She doesn't seem right lately. Is Tsunade-sensei okay?"

Guts shrugged.

"She's just… dealing with stuff. Leave her be."

Then he grinned and slipped an arm around Kurenai's slim waist.

"By the way… your dad isn't home tonight, right? Why don't you stay?"

Kurenai flushed.

"You said the same thing last time, and then that night you—mmph!"

It wasn't clear if Tsunade overheard that part.

But later that night—lying in bed, eyes closed—she definitely heard something.

The sounds didn't come from Guts's room, but rather from the kitchen. The unmistakable sound of candy being unwrapped. And then—

"Hey… those papayas you ate a few years ago finally paid off. Got any Tenten-brand soda left?"

"Hmph, it's not like I like sweets. You're the one who—ah!—"

"Hmm… think they would be bigger than Tsunade's in the future?"

"No way! They're heavy! And soft!"

Tsunade's face twitched.

Kage-level or not, she had good hearing.

Her hand clenched into a fist under the blanket. Part of her wanted to storm in there and bash the brat's head in. But the other half?

She wasn't about to walk in and see anything.

So she rolled over and tried to sleep.

The next morning, Kurenai was making breakfast—still a little red in the cheeks. She avoided Tsunade's gaze entirely.

Tsunade, on the other hand, had bags under her eyes.

"Brat!"

she snapped suddenly.

"Third Hokage wanted to see you today. Now stop stuffing your face and go!"

Guts blinked mid-bite, but quickly stuffed two sandwiches into his mouth and headed for the Hokage office.

Kurenai, still flustered, took the remaining breakfast and left soon after.

Tsunade watched them go, then turned toward her room, rubbing her temple.

"…Stupid kid."

At the Hokage building—

"What? You want me to be a sensei?" Guts raised an eyebrow.

Sarutobi Hiruzen chuckled. The old man looked even older now—hair mostly white, pipe between his lips.

"Yes. The new graduates from the academy this year… some of them are promising. I want you to lead a team."

Guts shook his head without hesitation.

"Not interested in babysitting."

"Now, now,"

Hiruzen exhaled a long puff of smoke.

"Don't be so quick to judge. You're already a Jōnin at twelve. That alone speaks volumes."

"Besides, these kids are… different. Just take a look at their files."

With that, he slid three folders across the desk.

Guts glanced at them.

His expression changed slightly—just for a moment.
