Chapter 32: Chapter 32: The Origin of All Dojutsu and Leaving the Village Again
Steam filled the bathroom as Yagyu stood under the shower, rinsing away the fatigue of the past few days.
With his head tilted back and eyes closed, he reflected on the main storyline.
Tazuna, a key figure in the Land of Waves arc, was the client of Team 7's first C-rank mission.
However, this mission was far from simple. The one seeking Tazuna's death was Kado, one of the wealthiest individuals in the ninja world.
Kado's forces not only included numerous ronin and rogue ninja but even the likes of Zabuza Momochi, the "Demon of the Mist," on par with Raiga Kurosuki.
But Yagyu's interest wasn't in Kado or Zabuza—it was in the boy who followed Zabuza: Haku.
While Yagyu couldn't recall the name of the red-eyed boy who had accompanied Raiga, Haku's name and character left a lasting impression.
Haku's popularity was undeniable. Before the official confirmation of his gender, countless fans had mistaken him for a woman.
On forums and in videos, he was often listed as one of the most beautiful "women" in the Naruto universe.
In the early arcs, many geniuses outshone Naruto and Sasuke, even as reincarnations of the Sage of Six Paths' sons. Haku was one of them.
The Ice Release Kekkei Genkai and his ability to perform one-handed seals were two things Yagyu deeply coveted.
Ice Release is a combination of the water and wind chakra natures. If Yagyu could unlock this Kekkei Genkai, not only would he gain the wind chakra nature, but his mastery of wind techniques would skyrocket from nothing to an advanced level.
With Sakura's precise chakra control techniques, Yagyu was confident he could develop the fully realized Wind Style: Rasenshuriken even without Sage Mode.
Beyond that, he could perfect the Hard Swirling Water Blade.
One-handed seals were even more appealing. Until seals were simplified to a mere clap and invocation, one-handed seals were the ultimate tool for stealth attacks.
With this in mind, Yagyu made up his mind.
He had to participate in the Land of Waves arc and extract both abilities from Haku.
After drying off, Yagyu summoned the virtual panel and began fusing the red energy spheres in his spatial inventory.
As a red beam flew out and merged into his body, new text appeared next to the Sharingan in the Kekkei Genkai section: Red Eyes.
Unlike the fusion of Asura's chakra or the Sharingan, as soon as Yagyu fused the Red Eyes, his eyes—now free of the cosmetic lenses—began glowing with an eerie crimson light.
The brilliance made his crimson irises appear like luminous rubies, tinged with a bewitching aura.
Yagyu's vision shifted from color to monochromatic red. His perspective changed from first-person to a godlike view, allowing him to see through everything in his surroundings.
The range of this farsight extended at least a kilometer!
Deactivating the farsight and x-ray vision, Yagyu intensified his Yin chakra.
In the air, red particles materialized.
Moments later, an image of Hinata appeared before him.
This was no ordinary illusion; even high-level sensory abilities, the Byakugan, and the Sharingan would perceive it as real.
The illusion even mimicked the chakra flow and pathways of a living being—a hallmark of reality.
"I never thought I'd unlock a knockoff version of the Byakugan before getting the real one," Yagyu mused, deactivating the Red Eyes.
He didn't know the origin of this ability, but its functionality was remarkably similar to the Byakugan.
However, while the Byakugan showed things in black-and-white, the Red Eyes presented them in red hues.
If it displayed full colors, it could rival the Tenseigan.
Moreover, the Red Eyes had an illusion ability the Byakugan lacked. Not only could it create human illusions, but it could also produce object illusions, making the user invisible even to sensory powers on par with the Byakugan.
Unlike Transparent Escape, which only cloaked the user, the Red Eyes could hide multiple people simultaneously.
This illusionary capability earned the Red Eyes the title of Byakugan's Nemesis.
At first glance, the Red Eyes seemed superior to the Byakugan.
But only at first glance.
The Byakugan served as the foundation of all dojutsu.
Whether the Sharingan, Rinnegan, Tenseigan, or Tensei Sharingan, all were evolutions or mutations of the Byakugan.
Yagyu even suspected that the Red Eyes and Blood Dragon Eyes were mutations of the Byakugan, though he had no evidence to prove it.
The fact that he could use the Red Eyes immediately after fusion was a blessing for Yagyu.
Now, he could monitor Tazuna's movements in the village.
Lying in bed, Yagyu activated the Red Eyes again, located Tazuna, and then closed his eyes to rest.
He slept until 7 a.m. the next morning.
Upon waking, Yagyu activated the Red Eyes to confirm Tazuna's location. Seeing that he was still asleep, Yagyu washed up and began his morning training in the courtyard.
After training, he had his shadow clone prepare breakfast while he took another shower.
By 8:30 a.m., Yagyu had finished eating.
He noticed that Tazuna was awake and heading to the Hokage's office with his half-finished sake bottle.
Coincidentally, Team 7 appeared at the Hokage's office shortly after, Sakura holding a small cat in her arms.
Witnessing this, Yagyu knew the main storyline was about to begin.
Yagyu put on his cosmetic lenses, checked his inventory, and grabbed a marker. Outside his door, he wrote "Gone for Training" on the sign before heading to an alley.
Performing a transformation jutsu, Yagyu disguised himself as a middle-aged man in simple clothing, donning a straw hat.
At the village gates, Yagyu exchanged a glance with the two Chunin gatekeepers.
In an instant, their expressions became vacant, and they allowed Yagyu to pass.
Konoha, the Fire Nation's military hub, had the best sensory barriers in the ninja world. Villagers and outsiders alike had to pass through the gates.
Entering the village was simple and often required no registration.
But leaving was another matter. Villagers needed approval and an official exit pass, leaving a paper trail.
This was why Yagyu, like most villagers, had never left Konoha.
To avoid detection, Yagyu bypassed the official process and hypnotized the gatekeepers with genjutsu, much like Itachi Uchiha's method of infiltration.
Once outside Konoha, Yagyu climbed a tree a few hundred meters from the gate, activated the Red Eyes, and created an illusion to cloak himself.
Not long after, Team 7 and Tazuna emerged from the gates, heading toward the Land of Waves.
The three Genin marveled at the outside world, while Kakashi read Make-Out Paradise, oblivious to his surroundings.
Tazuna, meanwhile, sipped nervously from his nearly empty sake bottle, attempting to mask his fear.
He knew the dangers awaiting him and was painfully aware of the lie he had told about the mission's rank.
Tazuna feared both the enemies who wanted him dead and the possibility that the Konoha ninja would abandon him once they discovered the truth.
If he died, the Land of Waves would be doomed.
