Naruto: Reborn in His Younger Self

When Hashirama heard that the current Hokage of the village was Tsunade, his expression twisted with distress.

"Now... is the village... okay?"

His face was full of concern, though what he really wanted to ask was: Has the village been gambled away yet?

Naruto quickly stepped forward and said cheerfully, "Hahaha! The village under Granny Tsunade's rule is thriving and peaceful!"

He continued with pride, "Plus, with my master Jiraiya's assistance, Danzō was killed by Sasuke, and the other two senior advisors have finally stopped interfering in Konoha's governance."

"It's safe to say that Konoha now has the best atmosphere it's had in a long time!"

Hashirama lit up with excitement. "Oh? Really?"

Naruto smiled and nodded.

Hashirama laughed heartily. "Hahaha! She's indeed my good granddaughter."

Tobirama let out a sigh as he watched the exchange.

Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, wore a satisfied smile. "I didn't expect that Jiraiya would actually be willing to return to the village and assist Tsunade. That certainly puts my heart at ease."

In truth, after the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, died, Hiruzen had strongly hoped that Jiraiya would accept the role of Fifth Hokage. Among his three disciples, Orochimaru was a lost cause, and Tsunade was a hopeless gambler. Jiraiya, aside from being a bit of a pervert, was otherwise ideal.

In terms of background, he was Hiruzen's own student and the teacher of the Fourth Hokage.

In terms of qualifications, he had earned his reputation as one of the Legendary Sannin during the Second Shinobi World War.

In terms of strength, he wielded an incredibly diverse range of ninjutsu, possessed elite combat awareness, and had solid Kage-level power. Not to mention his Sage Mode abilities, which were incredibly rare.

Before he could speak, Tobirama said, "Big brother, from my perception, this isn't the Hidden Leaf Village. Since we've been resurrected, let's go take a look at the village first."

Hashirama nodded. He had the same idea. The last time he had been resurrected by Orochimaru, he'd only had time to fight the Third Hokage and hadn't properly seen the village.

Orochimaru interjected, "I'm afraid that's not possible. All of you were revived using the Edo Tensei. Your actions require Naruto's approval."

Tobirama snorted and glanced at Naruto coldly. "You want me to follow the orders of the Fourth Hokage's son? This little brat?"

He clearly wasn't impressed, especially since Naruto had just supported Orochimaru's accusations against the Third Hokage's governance. Tobirama had no interest in Naruto's opinion at the moment.

Orochimaru nodded. "Yes, because it was Naruto who requested your resurrection. Your actions must align with his will."

Tobirama laughed loudly, "I am the Second Hokage! You think I'll take orders from a child? Orochimaru, don't flatter yourself. I know what you're trying to say. You think you can control us?"

"But you're ignoring one thing — the precision of this Edo Tensei is far superior to the last time. We've been brought back with power nearly equal to our original bodies. You really think you can still control us?"

"After all, I invented this jutsu!"

With that, Tobirama raised his fingers, and a terrifying wave of chakra exploded from him!

Orochimaru broke into a cold sweat. He immediately formed hand seals and tried to restrain Tobirama with all his strength. In an instant, Tobirama's chakra surge was snuffed out.

"Huh?! What's going on?"

Hashirama looked over meaningfully and said, "Sarutobi, the shinobi you trained turned out really well."

The Third Hokage rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile, embarrassed by the praise.

Meanwhile, Orochimaru stood proudly. "To be praised by the God of Shinobi is a great honor."

Hashirama turned his gaze to Orochimaru. "Tobirama, your perception is a bit slow. He used my cells this time to reinforce the bindings."

Only then did Tobirama realize that Orochimaru had infused his body with his brother's cells. Without close inspection, he hadn't noticed it, but now it was undeniable — his entire being was interwoven with Hashirama's chakra.

Naruto sighed. He had been prepared for this. Second Uncle sure is hot-tempered. Always ready to blow up the lab with his chakra…

Suddenly, with a loud bang, the door to Orochimaru's laboratory was kicked open.

"Naruto , what did you find?"

Nagato rushed in, face tense.

He paused upon seeing the four unfamiliar figures. His brow furrowed. "Naruto , these people…"

Tobirama's eyes narrowed at Nagato.

"Big Bro," he said to Hashirama. "Do you see it?"

Hashirama nodded, his expression grave. "Yeah. The Rinnegan."

The Third and Fourth Hokage had also noticed the strange dojutsu in Nagato's eyes — the legendary Rinnegan. And Naruto had one as well.

The Fourth Hokage, Minato, also recognized Nagato's red hair and realized he must be a member of the Uzumaki Clan.

Naruto stepped forward to explain. "These are the four Hokage of Konoha. I used Edo Tensei to bring them back and strengthen our forces."

Nagato suddenly understood. No wonder they were all wearing Konoha forehead protectors. His eyes paused on Hashirama — The Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi.

Nagato approached and gave a deep bow.

Hashirama was briefly stunned. Nagato then said, "Greetings, Shodai-sama."

Recognizing the formality and noticing Nagato's hair color, Hashirama asked, "You're from the Land of Whirlpools? The Uzumaki Clan?"

Nagato nodded.

Hashirama beamed. "So we're family. I never expected to meet a brother of the Uzumaki Clan here."

Orochimaru interjected at that moment. "The Uzumaki Clan was wiped out."

Hashirama's smile froze.

Tobirama's brows furrowed. He had anticipated this possibility. The Third Hokage went quiet, guilt in his eyes.

"How could that be?!" Hashirama's voice trembled.

His wife, Mito Uzumaki, had come from the Land of Whirlpools. He had been close friends with the leader of the Uzumaki Clan.

When Konoha was founded, the Uzumaki Clan had been welcomed as crucial allies.

Even the village's symbol — the swirling leaf — was based on the Uzumaki crest.

The Third Hokage finally spoke, his voice heavy. "Hashirama-sama, Tobirama-sama… I'm sorry. At that time, I was powerless. I couldn't protect our allies."

The Fourth Hokage, Minato, understood the situation well and stepped in to explain the history in Hiruzen's place.

"In the thirty-seventh year of Konoha — during the battlefield period when the Second Hokage died — Sarutobi Hiruzen was appointed as the Third Hokage."

"That year was a disaster for Konoha."

"The strongest fighting force, the Second Hokage, fell in battle. Our relationship with Kumogakure became hostile."

"In the same year, the Second Great Ninja War broke out. Hiruzen, freshly appointed and still unsteady in his role, lacked firm political control."

"Danzō strongly opposed Hiruzen's appointment and often disagreed with his policies. This continued for decades, right up until his death."

"On top of that, people blamed Hiruzen for not protecting the Second Hokage, transferring a lot of resentment toward him."

"So when the Uzumaki Clan was surrounded and attacked by multiple nations, Konoha should've sent reinforcements. But… we didn't have the strength."

"Both Kumogakure and Kirigakure were waiting for an opening. If we had split our forces, they would have attacked the village."

"There was no choice. Hiruzen had to watch the Uzumaki Clan perish."

He finished solemnly, "Luckily, a few survivors were taken in by Konoha. One of them was my wife — Kushina Uzumaki."
