Naruto: Reborn in His Younger Self

In a quiet, private room within a modest restaurant in Amegakure, Shisui Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha sat opposite each other. The dim lighting cast a calm glow over the table, which was now filled with various dishes and half-emptied bottles of sake.

They had ordered a few plates of local specialties and a generous amount of alcohol. Their conversation stretched into the hours, becoming deeper and more thoughtful with each passing drink. The specific scene was typical of two brothers-in-arms reconnecting after what felt like a lifetime apart—Shisui would ask a question, Itachi would respond at length, then Shisui would nod, sigh, and ask again. And the cycle continued.

By the time they had polished off their fifth dish and third bottle of sake, their conversation had lasted almost six hours. The restaurant owner came by repeatedly, checking if they needed anything else.

But Itachi wore the cloak of the Heaven Organization—the newly formed group under Naruto Uzumaki's leadership, recognized unofficially as the supreme power of Yugakure. That alone ensured the boss remained courteous and respectful every time, only ever asking whether they wished to order more food or drink.

Shisui downed another cup of sake, letting out a burp before slumping back with a red flush on his face. He looked at Itachi and asked, slightly slurred but serious, "So… what are you planning to do next?"

Itachi calmly took a sip from his own cup before replying, "Follow Naruto. Whatever he says, I will do."

"Oh?!"

Shisui blinked, clearly stunned. Despite having absorbed much of the information about the changes in the shinobi world since his death, he was still caught off guard by Itachi's answer.

In Shisui's memory, Itachi had always been incredibly self-reliant and resolute. For him to speak so plainly of following someone else's lead, even Naruto's, was uncharacteristic.

Itachi met Shisui's puzzled gaze and explained, "Naruto possesses a power that I can't fully comprehend. When we first met in the forest, and he told me he was from the future, I didn't believe him. But even then, I saw something in him. After my death, I had entrusted everything—especially Sasuke—to fate. But Naruto became my anchor. I believed in him and gave him your eye."

Shisui's eyes narrowed as he caught a crucial detail. He leaned forward slightly, voice tinged with shock, "From the future?!"

Itachi nodded, solemn. "Yes. And as I told you earlier, Naruto has changed the shinobi world in ways we couldn't have imagined. For example, the Akatsuki organization I once joined—its goal was to hunt the Tailed Beasts, using the distrust among the Five Great Nations to sow chaos and profit from war. But ever since Naruto appeared, everything's shifted. Especially after Obito declared war at the Five Kage Summit, the entire balance of power began to converge around Naruto."

Shisui stared at him, processing every word. "You're saying Naruto is deliberately gathering power? How is that any different from Akatsuki?"

Itachi shook his head. "It's not the same. Naruto told me that the Fourth Great Ninja War is just a test—what he calls a 'shinobi examination.' The true battle lies far beyond... above the stars."

"Above the stars?" Shisui echoed, his confusion deepening. He couldn't tell whether Itachi had been brainwashed, or if he was the one struggling to grasp a new reality.

Itachi leaned in, eyes serious. "Shisui, just as you once believed in me, I now ask you to believe in Naruto. I see it—he's trying to unite all the shinobi nations. Whatever threat he's preparing for, his perspective encompasses the entire world."

He paused, then added, "Let's talk about the Eye of the Moon Plan. If Obito had succeeded, everyone would've been trapped in an eternal Genjutsu. You, more than anyone, understand how terrifying that is."

Shisui nodded. As the creator of Kotoamatsukami, the most powerful Genjutsu that could subtly alter a person's will without them even realizing it, he was all too familiar with the consequences of mass Genjutsu. The Eye of the Moon Plan was, at its core, an infinite illusion—a dream world forcibly imposed upon reality.

Itachi continued, "Naruto bringing us back from death… it's a way to consolidate power. I didn't agree with it at first, but honestly, when I saw you again, Shisui, I felt… grateful. He gave me the chance to correct regrets I thought I'd take to the grave."

He smiled, a rare warmth lighting up his normally somber face. "It fills in so many holes in my heart."

Shisui smiled faintly, the corners of his lips twitching.

Itachi looked at him with renewed hope. "Shisui, now that we have a second chance at life, why not help Naruto reshape this world? Why not help build the future he envisions?"

Shisui fell silent, recalling Naruto's words when they first met—his bold declaration that he was the future Seventh Hokage.

"He said he'd become Hokage… the Seventh?"

Itachi nodded. "Yes. Naruto has always aimed for that title. But ever since claiming to be from the future, he's become more… mature. And honestly, with his power, background, and support, there's no opposition. His father is the Fourth Hokage, Jiraiya is his master, Lady Tsunade is like his aunt, and Hiruzen Sarutobi was his grandfather figure. Add Kakashi and the full support of Konoha's people—it's only a matter of time."

Shisui considered that carefully. From what Itachi told him, Naruto had saved the village numerous times. Without him, Obito might've destroyed Konoha already. With such strength, lineage, and reputation, becoming Hokage would be a natural progression.

More importantly, Naruto had personally killed Shimura Danzō, the man who once betrayed and drove Shisui to despair.

"Alright then," Shisui said firmly, his voice carrying a rare sense of conviction. "Itachi, let's do it. You and I will fight together once again—for Konoha, and for this world."

Itachi's eyes lit up, joy blooming across his face as he nodded in agreement. "Thank you, Shisui."

Later that night, Itachi and Shisui found Naruto—drunk and babbling nonsense.

Shisui looked at him with a smile and declared, "Naruto, I've made my decision. I'll walk the same path as Itachi. I believe in you—and I'll join your Heaven Organization."

Naruto, slurring slightly, beamed with delight. "Awesome! That's amazing! With Shisui joining, our strength just skyrocketed!"

Kisame, leaning on the doorway, raised an eyebrow and asked Itachi, "Mr. Itachi, you never drink. Why'd you drink so much tonight—and didn't even invite me?"

Itachi chuckled, uncharacteristically relaxed. He patted Kisame on the shoulder and replied, "No worries. Next time, we'll drink together."

Kisame wasn't wrong—Itachi rarely drank in the past due to his weak lungs. But ever since Naruto resurrected him, his health was fully restored. The only drawback was that his eyes weren't his original ones. Naruto had transplanted Sharingan into him, but they weren't Mangekyō Sharingan.

His own pair had been gifted to Sasuke long ago.

And at the thought of Sasuke, a sliver of unease crept into Itachi's heart. He had no idea what his foolish little brother was up to now.

Meanwhile, Naruto cheerfully asked Konan to prepare a proper outfit for Shisui. Once she brought it in, Naruto formally shook Shisui's hand and welcomed him to the organization.

Nagato stood quietly in the background, watching the interactions with a soft smile.

He saw Itachi—the man who used to rarely smile—now laughing freely.

Maybe no one in this world is born cold or cruel. Maybe they just haven't met the one person who could make them feel alive again.

Nagato sighed, thoughts drifting. Yahiko… wait for me. I will see you again, one day.

Konan, standing nearby, noticed the look on Nagato's face. She tilted her head slightly, curious.

"What are you thinking about, Nagato?"

But he didn't answer.
