Naruto: Our Goal Is To Dig Every Corner of Konoha

Chapter 841: Chapter 841 The Tragic Lost Demon

"What do you mean he doesn't want to complete his mission?"

Everyone asked curiously. After all, the Onion Knight's actions earlier seemed like he was toying with them, but Asahi's words suggested something deeper. They wondered if there some hidden secret here.

Afterwards, Asahi didn't waste time and explained the relationship between the Giant King, Yhorm, and the Onion Knight. The group quickly understood the heavy responsibility that the Onion Knight bore. To be honest, it made them uncomfortable.

After all, he had to kill his old friend, and in this kind of scenario, anyone would want to avoid such a task.

Putting themselves in his shoes, they felt the same. If there ever came a day when Riveria asked Finn to kill her, Finn would likely choose to avoid it too, as it would be impossible otherwise.

"So that's how it is. I remember hearing about the Giant King Yhorm and his friends' story back in the day. It was said that he gave a weapon capable of defeating him to a close friend. So, he was that king!"

Hawkwood also recalled hearing the tale of Titan King Yhorm, including the legend of him giving his weapon to a friend. He had thought it was just a story, but it turned out to be true.

And the Onion Knight continuously avoided his duty to prevent a conflict with Giant King Yhorm, but he couldn't keep it up forever.

Everyone fell silent. When they reached the top floor, they discovered a giant who was shooting arrows in several directions, with three distinct targets, three birch trees.

The giant was guarding the three trees, and any creature that approached them would be attacked by the giant. According to the game's setting, if all the branches around the three trees were collected, the giant's mission would be completed, and he would die immediately.

Players could obtain a ring from the giant's corpse, and the same was true here. With help from their ally, they showed goodwill towards the giant and received branches delivered by the knight.

With the branches, the giant's weapon couldn't harm them anymore. Of course, they didn't need to worry too much, as their own power was more than enough to withstand the giant's archery skills.

Still, the giant's gesture of goodwill was welcomed, so the group quickly moved to the middle level, where they met the Onion Knight again. Surprisingly, the Onion Knight was sitting there, watching a lost demon from afar.

"Oh, it's you all again. I'm so sorry. I was planning to go to the upper floors, but I got distracted and ended up here. I don't actually want to stay in this place, and there's also a big shot nearby. You can come along!"

The Onion Knight, upon seeing the group again, assured them that no one harbored any ill will towards him this time. After all, his choices were understandable, and everyone showed sympathy.

"The figure isn't particularly large, but from what I sensed, his ability should be around Level 5!"

Finn remarked after observing for a while. Even though he didn't possess sensing abilities himself, his years of battle experience allowed him to roughly gauge the strength of auras. The aura they were sensing had clearly reached the level of Level 5.

"Bete, Tiona, Tione, Ais, I'll leave this to you!"

Riveria said. A LV5 opponent didn't require the involvement of the higher ranks, and even within the LV5 tier, only Ais could potentially take on the enemy alone. Thus, they had to fight as a team!

After hearing Riveria's words, the group immediately charged forward without further hesitation.

"Wait, why are you all in such a rush? Can't you think things through before acting?"

The Onion Knight saw the situation was going well and planned to help, but Hawkwood stopped him.

"No need to join in; they're strong enough on their own. Let's just watch!"

As Hawkwood held back the Onion Knight, the others had already started fighting.

In an instant, they completely overwhelmed the enemy. Though the massive demon was large in size and seemingly at Level 5 strength, it was utterly powerless against their attacks.

Right off the bat, Tiona knocked the demon to the ground with her Ice Wolf Hammer. The demon's weapon was then kicked away by Bete, and Tione tore off its tail. Ais followed up by slicing off one of its arms.

It was a brutal defeat. The once formidable demon was nearly devoid of combat capability. After taking a few more blows from Tiona, it was pounded into mush.

"That hammer sure is something!"

Looking at the hammer in Tiona's hands, Bete remarked with some admiration. To be honest, he felt a bit envious but not jealous, after all, they were part of the same Familia. His own combat style focused on leg strength, so even if he had Tiona's wammer, he wouldn't use it effectively.

On the other hand, Tiona's weapon of choice was generally heavy weaponry.

"It's nothing amazing.'

Although Tione had a weapon, her combat style was typically aggressive, so in battle, she would often get carried away, showing a completely different side compared to her usual demeanor.

Normally, Tione appeared gentle and ladylike in front of Finn, but her moves were dazzlingly fierce, especially for an Amazon.

However, once Tione entered combat mode, she was prone to going berserk, adopting a terrifyingly reckless fighting style, disregarding injuries in exchange for damaging the enemies.

As a result, even though Tione had a dancer's weapon, she didn't use it directly but instead relied on her bare hands against the battle squad.

"The soul is here!"

Tiona was delighted to have obtained the soul of the fallen demon. She loved encountering powerful creatures like this because their souls were equally powerful, making them a valuable resource.

Compared to the souls of ordinary beings, these were the real panaceas. Yet, such entities, which could be considered mini-bosses, were rare in the world, so it was impossible to farm them in large quantities.

"Now that this is dealt with, let's move on. It seems like there's still one important figure in this area, a guy named Ludleth, who's crucial because he can forge these souls into weapons! "

Bete hadn't forgotten that when they first arrived, they encountered Ludleth, who mentioned that a Transposing Kiln existed on the Cursed Tree. This furnace could transform strange souls into special weapons, including Tiona's hammer.

So everyone was now eager to find this furnace, knowing that having such a tool would save the Loki Familia a considerable amount of money.

After all, the Loki Familia spent astronomical amounts on weaponry, and advanced weapons came with an equally astronomical cost.
