Naruto: Our Goal Is To Dig Every Corner of Konoha

Chapter 840: Chapter 840 Transforming The Entrance of The 23rd Floor Into Loki Familia's Base

"Is this the place? It's quite secluded, but we should still keep some people on watch. Let's set up a perimeter here. As long as we hoist the Loki Familia's flag, not many will dare to come near!"

Finn suggested. They had arrived at the 23rd floor and planned to stake their claim by planting the Loki Familia flag. To outsiders, it would simply be declared as their long-term base.

Anyway, this wasn't the 18th floor, so no one would be keen on competing for a location where monsters frequently appear.

It was obvious to those with a keen eye that the Loki Familia's choice was questionable. After all, establishing a base on the safer 18th floor, a well-known safe zone with fewer monsters, would have been more logical.

The 18th floor had become a settlement that required minimal defense.

The 23rd floor, however, was a typical dungeon level with regular monster spawns. Anyone could see that establishing a long-term base here was bound to be problematic for the Loki Familia.

Yet, even with this knowledge, few would dare to approach or challenge them, due to Loki Familia's immense reputation alongside Freya Familia as one of Orario's two major powers. Except, perhaps, Freya herself.

Even if Ottar attempted to forcefully breach the Loki Familia's defenses, it would be nearly impossible.

After all, the sheer number of Loki Familia's powerful members made it a formidable task, though without Finn and the others, it would be much easier for Ottar.

The base construction progressed rapidly. Despite having limited manpower, they enlisted the help of the Fire Keeper's followers.

Enthusiastic about the prospect of living in another world, they eagerly assisted in building an impressive stronghold, complete with several checkpoints. Impressively, the entire construction took only three days.

So I helped build a very good resident, looking at several checkpoints.

In terms of time, it only took three days to build it.

"So, this is the other world? These monsters are really peculiar!"

Everyone commented upon arriving at the land inhabited by the undead. Finn and his team immediately noticed the strangeness of the monsters here. Even the weakest ones, when killed, yielded souls, though the quantity varied.

This was completely different from the adventurer's system in Orario, where only powerful monsters relevant to the adventurer's level could be slain for progression.

Leveling up required significant achievements, such as defeating bosses or performing extraordinary feats, with very stringent criteria.

However, enhancing oneself with souls in this world was far less cumbersome. As long as enough souls were collected, enhancement could occur at any time.

Due to Finn and his group's considerable strength, they swiftly cleared through the undead settlement and even encountered some notable figures, including characters like the sorcery teacher from the original story who guided the protagonist.

They also met Eygon, wielding his mace, who was staying to protect a nun who hadn't yet become a Fire Keeper.

It's just that, upon learning about the possibility of moving to a new world, Eygon resolutely decided to take the nun with him and join the group.

He was confident in the Fire Keeper's truthfulness, as verification could easily be sought at the Firelink Shrine.

Since Finn and his team were traveling with Hawkwood, they didn't face many issues.

However, as they approached a towering structure, they encountered an Onion Knight named Siegward.

Truth be told, Asahi was quite familiar with and fond of this character. The Onion Knight was a close friend of the Giant King, Yhorm, and they had once made a pact that if Yhorm ever lost his way, Siegward would be there to set him right.

If confused, the Onion Knight would eventually end up having to kill Yhorm. Moreover, the Onion Knight possesses a mighty Storm Ruler, a sword gifted to him by Yhorm himself.

Yhorm originally had two Storm Rulers: one he gave to his dear friend, the Onion Knight, and the other he entrusted to certain people.

However, when those people grew too ambitious, Yhorm took the second sword back and placed it beside his throne.

As for the Onion Knight, in the original story, he was often portrayed as a rather muddled character. This might be because he chose not to fulfill his duties, which led to frequent blunders

Though powerful, his actions in the original story were often perplexing. For instance, he got stuck in an elevator, received a slap from Patches, and ended up imprisoned.

In short, he often encountered problems, not due to his strength but because he preferred not to trouble Yhorm. After all, they were friends, and confronting Yhorm would mean he had to kill him.

Yhorm would also retaliate, and slaying his closest friend would be heartbreaking.

Thus, the Onion Knight kept procrastinating.

"Ah, I didn't expect to see so many people here. Are you all trying to go up too? What a troublesome issue. I've been wandering around here, but this elevator only goes down, not up. It's quite frustrating!"

After seeing so many people, the Onion Knight said, echoing his character from the game perfectly.

"Uh, isn't there a button up there? Just step on the elevator, and it'll go up. There are also plenty of ways to get to the top!"

Everyone was speechless at the Onion Knight's naivete. After all, given the strength of those present, they could have scaled the tower with their bare hands, as this wasn't a game where you couldn't even jump high.

For someone skilled, climbing the tower manually would be easy.

However, after hearing the Onion Knight's comments and the elevator's setup, everyone was at a loss for words. It was obviously a multi-level elevator.

Tiona stepped on it, and as she exited the elevator, it quickly descended, revealing another level.

"Thank you, that solves my problem. Now I can finally continue my quest. By the way, are you all heading up too?"

The Onion Knight asked, and the group nodded.

The elevator was spacious enough for everyone. Soon, everyone boarded the elevator, which began to ascend.

Midway through, to everyone's astonishment, the Onion Knight abruptly moved, exiting onto a middle platform.

"There's a middle layer… Was he messing with us earlier?"

Tiona wondered aloud. It seemed the Onion Knight was aware of the elevator's quirks and was merely toying with them.

"Yes and no. He just doesn't want to complete his mission!"

Asahi remarked, watching the Onion Knight. Shaking his head, he realized the Onion Knight had already slipped away.
