Naruto: Kushina's Redemption, My Revenge

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Kushina's Crisis

Chinya couldn't wait to return to Konoha.

The reason was simple—he wanted to see Kushina. Yet the only chance he had to do so was during the short free time granted after completing his mission.

Moreover, Kushina had already learned part of the Sealing Technique from Mito Uzumaki, and three months ago, Grandma Mito had approved Kushina to begin taking missions.

However, due to Kushina's importance, her missions were confined to the Land of Fire.

As a result, in these past eight months, the number of times Chinya and Kushina had actually met could be counted on one hand.

Although this time returning to Konoha didn't guarantee a meeting with Kushina either, Chinya still held onto hope.

Just thinking about possibly seeing Kushina brought a smile to Chinya's face as he quickened his pace toward Konoha.

...

Konoha.

Kushina had just finished a mission and stepped out of the Hokage Tower.

She rubbed her stiff neck—this ninja life was nothing like what she'd imagined.

So far, Kushina had constantly accepted and completed easy D-rank missions together with her two teammates, leaving her feeling particularly frustrated.

"If Chinya were here, even doing D-ranks wouldn't be so boring."

Pouting, Kushina muttered to herself as she walked toward Grandma Mito's residence.

By now, it was already dusk.

Kushina returned to the estate.

"I'm back!"

But no one answered.

Stepping deeper into the house, Kushina called again, "I'm back, Grandma Mito?"

Still no reply came.

Standing at the kitchen door, she murmured, "Is Grandma Mito not home?"

As she stared blankly out the kitchen window, something caught Kushina's attention.

She noticed that the branches outside the window seemed to be shaking abnormally.

At that moment, three figures appeared by the window.

The Kumo ninjas Chinya had been worried about had finally appeared.

These three Kumo shinobi had been hiding in Konoha for many days already.

They'd observed how Kushina possessed unique chakra and had long coveted it. Today, they seized their opportunity—they intended to kidnap Kushina.

The three Kumo ninjas climbed through the window straight into the kitchen.

Startled and lacking any real combat experience, Kushina screamed and took off running.

While fleeing, she cried desperately for help, "Is anyone there?! Help me!"

But among these three infiltrators, two were Tokubetsu Jonin, and one was a Jonin.

It didn't take them long to catch and subdue Kushina.

Once captured, the three ninjas quickly fled Konoha.

In the forests of the Land of Fire.

Her hands tied behind her back, Kushina was being led forward—two ninjas walking ahead, and another holding the rope behind her.

Kushina trudged forward, her gaze hollow.

With every step, they moved farther from Konoha and nearer to the border of the Land of Fire.

Suddenly, Kushina tripped over a stone and fell hard onto the ground.

The ninja behind roughly yanked the rope, forcibly pulling Kushina Uzumaki off the ground.

"Hey! Don't slack off! Keep moving!"

Kushina gripped the bell Chinya gave her tight, giving it a soft shake and praying for a miracle.

But they were almost at the border now, and no miracle had appeared. Hopelessness crushed Kushina's chest, and tears slid down her face before she even realized it.

The thought that she might never see Chinya again tore at Kushina's heart, each beat an unbearable ache.

In desperation, Kushina screamed, "Chinya!"

"Shut up!"

The Kumo ninja behind Kushina raised his fist, about to strike—when suddenly thunder rumbled from the forest.

[Thunder Breathing, Fourth Form: Distant Thunder!]

Before the three Kumo ninjas could react, a lightning-fast slash flashed past. The head of the attacking ninja shot straight into the air.

This sudden turn of events shocked the other two ninjas. They immediately retreated backward, creating distance between themselves and the attacker.

Chinya appeared before Kushina.

Seeing Kushina's disheveled state, Chinya's heart ached terribly.

After cutting the ropes binding Kushina's hands with his blade, Chinya reached out, gently stroking her face.

"I'm sorry, Kushina... I came late..."

Kushina Uzumaki threw herself into Chinya's arms, sobbing loudly.

Chinya's heart twisted painfully too. His gaze shifted toward the two Kumo ninjas preparing for battle, his eyes filled with uncontrollable killing intent as his Double Tomoe Sharingan activated.

Chinya let go of Kushina gently, guiding her to sit under a tree. He spoke as softly as possible: "Kushina, wait here. I'll take you home after dealing with them."

Chinya performed the Summoning Jutsu, summoning the White Snake.

"White Snake, protect Kushina."

Sensing the cold edge in Chinya's tone, the White Snake didn't try to draw attention—just quietly curled up by Kushina.

Chinya adjusted his breathing, his Sharingan fixed firmly on the two Kumo ninjas.

The moment he heard the bell ring, Chinya knew something was wrong—he could feel Kushina was in danger.

Guided by the bell's sound, he used lightning chakra to boost his body and sped toward her at top speed.

Ouyu Luo, a Kumo Jonin, eyed Chinya's Sharingan greedily. "A Sharingan! A kekkei genkai of the Uchiha Clan? What great luck! But this kid isn't easy to deal with. Atsui, let's attack together!"

Atsui, a Tokubetsu Jonin, replied solemnly, "Yes, captain!"

Both Ouyu Luo and Atsui simultaneously pulled out their ninja swords from their backs.

"Lightning Release: Cutting Flash!"

Ouyu Luo released electric attacks toward Chinya while dashing forward to strike him directly.

[Thunder Breathing, Second Form: Paddy Soul!]

Chinya instantly slashed five lightning-shaped strikes.

The first cut knocked aside Ouyu Luo's ninja sword, and the remaining four strikes headed straight for Ouyu Luo's vital points.

Ouyu Luo's reflexes were also remarkably fast, managing to block the first three strikes. However, the fourth strike still slashed across his chest.

Ouyu Luo looked down at the burnt wound on his chest and stared at Chinya in shock.

Although he had already witnessed Chinya instantly kill his comrade with a single blade, knowing that this young man was fast, it wasn't until this moment—facing him directly—that he truly realized just how fast Chinya was.

If not for his quick reactions, he would've met the same fate as his comrade—cut down with the second strike.

Chinya slightly frowned.

His speed had decreased.

Because he had rushed over to rescue Kushina Uzumaki and had been overusing lightning chakra to push his body for too long, his energy channels now felt sore and tingling.

Chinya shifted into a new stance. There was no way these two Kumo ninja were walking away from this alive!
