Naruto: Kushina's Redemption, My Revenge

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: A Deeply Shocked Fugaku Uchiha

When Chinya returned to the underground base, Orochimaru wasn't there.

After taking a shower, Chinya went back to his room and fell asleep.

He had been pretty angry about what Uchiha Motoi and Uchiha Mū had done—at first.

Did they really think he was still that soft target from before, someone they could push around whenever they wanted?

But later, Chinya just stopped caring—it wasn't worth getting mad at fools like them.

He even found them somewhat ridiculous.

They couldn't even beat him, yet they dragged the whole Uchiha Clan into this.

But now, he had Orochimaru backing him. What did he have to fear?

Chinya quickly fell asleep on his bed.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Motoi and Uchiha Mū weren't so lucky—they were both receiving treatment at the ninja hospital.

Before long, the current head of the Uchiha Clan, Uchiha Masaki, arrived at the hospital, accompanied by a boy about Chinya's age.

This boy was the next leader of the Uchiha Clan—Fugaku Uchiha.

Seeing Motoi and Mū with their right arms in plaster casts, Uchiha Masaki frowned deeply and asked, "What happened?!"

When Uchiha Mū saw Masaki arrive, he grew nervous and didn't dare speak.

Uchiha Motoi gritted his teeth and said, "Clan Head, it was that brat Chinya!"

Masaki's frown deepened. "Didn't I already tell you all not to provoke him?!"

Masaki knew Chinya had handed over an A-ranked Nin-Taijutsu technique, and several members of the Uchiha had learned this style.

Anyone with half a brain could see how Hiruzen Sarutobi treated Chinya—he clearly intended to elevate him to an important position.

Also, although few knew about it, Masaki had found out through his own channels that Orochimaru had taken Chinya as his personal disciple.

With one of the Sandaime Hokage's disciples—Orochimaru, a member of Konoha's Sannin—taking Chinya under his wing, Chinya's standing in the village skyrocketed. He had clearly become part of the Hokage's faction.

In fact, ever since Chinya contributed that A-ranked Nin-Taijutsu and Hiruzen started showing favor toward him, Masaki had already ordered the Uchiha clan members not to cause trouble for Chinya.

That's why no Uchiha had bothered Chinya in recent years.

And after Chinya officially became Orochimaru's student, Masaki emphasized again—stay away from Chinya.

Masaki's tone turned serious as he asked, "Did you go looking for him?"

Motoi opened his mouth slightly but finally remained silent.

Though Uchiha Motoi and Uchiha Mū often acted arrogant, they took real pride in being Uchiha. They would rather take the blame than lie out of fear.

Uchiha Masaki's expression darkened. "Once you recover, return to the clan headquarters for disciplinary action! Let me make this absolutely clear—stay away from him!"

Masaki felt bitter disappointment toward his clansmen—an anger mixed with sorrow over their lack of understanding. Arrogant, blind to the big picture, and completely unable to grasp the situation.

Uchiha Masaki now fully grasped the Uchiha Clan's precarious position in Konoha.

To Masaki, the Uchiha Clan was like a dying man clinging to one last surge of strength before collapsing forever.

The villagers feared and despised them, while the clan members remained conceited and full of themselves.

If not for the current instability across the Shinobi World, and the fact that Konoha still needed the Uchiha, perhaps Konoha would have already begun purging the Uchiha Clan.

If anyone in Konoha truly wished for war to break out, besides the ever-hidden schemer Danzo, it would be Uchiha Masaki himself.

Masaki believed the only way to bring the Uchiha Clan back to life was to prove their worth.

Let Hiruzen Sarutobi and the villagers know that Konoha could not survive without the Uchiha Clan.

But how could he best demonstrate this value? Only on the battlefield.

Masaki had warned his clansmen again and again to keep a low profile, but arrogance had become second nature to them. Even when told to stay low, they couldn't break their ingrained habits.

Masaki was practically depressed. Being the clan head was going to kill him early.

Glancing sideways at Fugaku Uchiha beside him, Masaki slightly lifted the corner of his mouth.

His only consolation was that his son hadn't turned out like the others in the clan—who considered themselves above everyone else.

Masaki firmly believed his son would one day become a worthy clan leader.

Looking at Uchiha Motoi and Uchiha Mū lying in bed, Masaki ultimately said nothing—he was just too disappointed. Whatever he said went in one ear and straight out the other. He decided it was pointless to say anything else.

As Masaki turned to leave, after some inner struggle, Motoi finally spoke: "Clan Head, that kid Chinya...has awakened the *Sharingan*!"

Masaki abruptly stopped in his tracks, turning his head back in disbelief: "What did you say?!"

Motoi repeated: "That kid Chinya has awakened the *Sharingan*!"

Masaki's expression kept changing: "How old is he? Thirteen? Or fourteen?"

Fugaku answered: "Father, he's two grades below me. He should be twelve."

Masaki was greatly shocked: "Twelve years old and already awakened the *Sharingan*? No, maybe even younger! This guy…he's a genius?!"

His own son, Fugaku, was already recognized as a prodigy within the clan, yet at age fourteen, he still hadn't awakened his *Sharingan*.

Even Madara Uchiha, the strongest known figure in Uchiha history and former clan leader, hadn't awakened his *Sharingan* until fifteen.

Masaki recalled the scene from years ago when Konoha Anbu brought Chinya to the Uchiha Compound.

Because Chinya carried the bloodline of the Senju—the fiercest enemy of the Uchiha—not only did the rest of the clan look down on him, so did Masaki himself.

He had firmly refused to acknowledge Chinya as a true member of the Uchiha Clan.

If he had known how incredibly talented Chinya would turn out to be, Masaki would have insisted upon keeping him in the Uchiha Clan—even against everyone else's objections!

But now, no amount of regret could change the past.

Masaki thought deeply. So did Fugaku.

As the son of Masaki Uchiha, the head of the Uchiha Clan, everyone within the clan praised Fugaku Uchiha as a genius who would surely become the strongest warrior in the clan's history.

Fugaku himself was also confident in his abilities, believing he would grow strong enough to become a pillar of the Uchiha Clan.

Yet Chinya, who only carried half the bloodline of the Uchiha, had already activated the *Sharingan*. This shook Fugaku deeply — and filled him with envy.

Chinya may have not only activated the *Sharingan* at just twelve years old, but he, who had always been labeled a genius, still hadn't shown even the slightest sign of awakening his own *Sharingan*.
