Naruto: Kushina's Redemption, My Revenge

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Compliment from Orochimaru

Out of the 34 bandits, only nine remained alive without even laying a finger on Chinya.

This is a Ninja.

Ordinary people—even strong adults—could not threaten a minor ninja.

Kakashi, for example, graduated from the Ninja Academy at five and started killing people, and those he killed were ninjas too.

In Chinya's Sharingan, the remaining nine fleeing bandits moved like turtles.

Chinya easily caught up to one bandit and swung his katana at the back of the man's neck without hesitation.

The bandit felt himself still running, but his vision sank lower and lower until it finally hit the ground.

Staring at the headless corpse beside him, the bandit suddenly realized.

Oh, that was his own body. He had just been beheaded...

And this headless bandit finally saw Chinya's appearance clearly.

So he was just a child?

Only a child had nearly wiped them all out.

Judging by this situation, none of the others would survive either.

Next life... Next life I must become a ninja first, then go rob others!

Hoping for another life, the bandit's consciousness faded away completely.

Chinya continued killing while counting down.

Hearing Chinya's somewhat childish voice counting down, the few surviving bandits became utterly terrified.

These countdown numbers were nothing less than death warrants for them.

Each scream marked another companion's death, and despair welled up inside them.

When Chinya counted down to "3," two bandits ahead stopped running.

There was no way to escape anymore. They gave up, tired, wanting destruction—death would end the fear haunting them.

The two bandits dropped their weapons and waited silently for death.

Facing these disarmed bandits, Chinya showed no mercy, decapitating both instantly.

Chinya reached "1" in his countdown.

Only the bandit leader remained.

Witnessing Chinya kill his men one by one as if cutting vegetables, the bandit leader had long ago fled in terror.

Now, the bandit leader had nearly left the village, grumbling curses under his breath.

"Damn it! So they hired a Ninja to deal with us! If I ever find out who did this, I'll torture him cruelly before killing him!"

"Tsk! The money we stole today is still over there—it has to be abandoned now. At least some of what I took earlier still belongs to me."

"I can't stay in Rice Country any longer. As planned earlier, I'll head to Moon Country to recruit more men and directly raid villages there."

Suddenly, the bandit leader halted his steps.

Because he felt his ankle had touched something.

Looking down, he spotted a Wire String.

The bandit leader exhaled in relief; his heart had inexplicably raced when his ankle brushed against it earlier.

Just as he thought nothing of it and prepared to move forward again, he heard a crackling sound.

Looking down once more, he saw a small paper tag—half-burned—with the character "Explosion" written on it.

"Hmph, just a piece of paper..."

"Paper? Explosive Tag?!"

The bandit leader's hair stood on end in an instant. Just as he tried to flee, the Explosive Tag detonated with a thunderous **boom**.

The explosion slammed him violently against the wall.

Dazed and disoriented from the blast, the bandit leader struggled to get up but collapsed again.

He looked down at his right leg—his pupils shrank in horror.

His right leg had been blown clean off, blood still pouring from the wound.

"Ahh! My leg!!"

Gripping the bleeding stump, the bandit leader screamed in agony.

Chinya stepped forward calmly, his scarlet Sharingan locking onto the helpless bandit leader.

The bandit gazed blankly into Chinya's Sharingan, too stunned to scream.

Staring into that eye felt like falling into a deep freeze—his body went numb with fear.

Chinya raised the katana in his hand and pointed the blade at the bandit leader's throat. He whispered, [Zero].

The katana pierced through the bandit leader's throat, spraying blood everywhere.

The bandit's gaze grew increasingly unfocused, descending into hell along with his grand ambitions.

Chinya swung the katana forcefully, flinging off the blood. Then he wiped the remaining drops clean by dragging it across his arm before smoothly sheathing it.

"Huff..."

Chinya exhaled.

Wiping out thirty-four bandits was now effortless for him; these bandits hadn't even managed to fight back.

If he had used Thunder Breathing, it would've been even easier—he could have eliminated all thirty-four in no time, leaving none behind.

But this mission had been specially assigned by Orochimaru to test Chinya's progress over the past month.

Using Thunder Breathing would've defeated the purpose.

Still, using ninjutsu during training truly felt different from employing it in actual combat.

It actually felt more natural.

Just as Chinya turned around to go find Orochimaru, he found Orochimaru already standing behind him.

Orochimaru glanced at the corpse of the bandit leader, smirking slightly as he praised, "Very good work. You effectively concealed your presence while assassinating. The few jutsu you used were also quite skillful, and your idea was brilliant—cleverly combining Water Release and Lightning Release based on their characteristics.

Your operation was also relatively rigorous—you set explosive traps in advance to deal with any escaping targets."

Hearing Orochimaru's praise, Chinya couldn't help smiling as well.

This was the first time in the entire month that Orochimaru had openly commended him.

During every previous training session, Orochimaru always pointed out countless flaws with Chinya.

There were times when Chinya almost started believing he was talentless.

Now that Orochimaru had finally praised him once, his mood lifted considerably.

Orochimaru continued, "Notably, there's one habit of yours that stands out."

Chinya blinked in confusion—did he have a special habit?

What kind of habit?

He perked up his ears carefully to listen.

Orochimaru said, "That's because you always go for the head when you take out enemies—either beheading them or slitting their throats. The human body only has a few vital spots. Even with a pierced heart, someone can still move for a moment—and that's enough time to strike back.

Whether you behead them or slit their throat, either one drops them instantly. This habit of yours is actually quite good."

Chinya felt a bit awkward after hearing Orochimaru's words and scratched his nose.

Come to think of it, slicing necks had become second nature to him.

And the reason was Thunder Breathing.

Because Thunder Breathing was a technique for killing demons, and a demon's weakness was its neck, all Sword Techniques were aimed directly at the neck.

Praised by Orochimaru like that, Chinya couldn't help but think this habit wasn't so bad after all.
