Naruto: Kushina's Redemption, My Revenge

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Training Begins

Chinya settled into Orochimaru's Underground Base.

Orochimaru had already drawn up a comprehensive training plan for Chinya.

However, Chinya didn't know that the upcoming days would become his nightmare.

Early the next morning, before dawn broke, Chinya was awakened by a snake.

As this snake crawled onto Chinya's bed, he immediately woke up.

This snake could even speak human language—it must have been a summoned beast from Orochimaru.

"Lord Chinya, Lord Orochimaru is already waiting for you."

This was the first time someone—or rather, something—had addressed him as "lord." It felt strange.

When Chinya arrived at Orochimaru's office, Orochimaru was already reading a scroll of ninjutsu.

"Now that you're up, let's get started. Follow me."

Orochimaru led Chinya to the training ground within the underground base.

At the center of the training field, Orochimaru directly summoned numerous snakes.

Orochimaru said to Chinya, "We'll start with taijutsu training in the morning. Without using Lightning Release chakra to enhance your physical abilities, use only pure physical strength to strike as many snakes as possible within one minute. You may stop only when I say so. Are you ready?"

Still groggy from just waking up, Chinya thought this was too sudden—he hadn't even eaten breakfast yet!

Chinya took a deep breath and nodded, saying, "I'm ready, Master Orochimaru."

"Then let's begin. Time starts now."

Chinya rushed forward instantly, striking the snakes bare-handed.

The snakes struck by Chinya dissolved into smoke and disappeared.

Orochimaru went to the edge of the training ground, sat on a chair prepared in advance, and continued reading the unfinished ninjutsu scroll.

One minute quickly passed, and Chinya still felt quite relaxed.

After all, it was only one minute.

Just as Chinya wanted to report that the minute was up, Orochimaru said without even lifting his head, "Continue."

Chinya continued striking the snakes.

Minute after minute passed.

Chinya no longer knew how many minutes he had gone through.

Orochimaru always said the same two words.

"Continue."

The snakes on the training ground had long since changed several waves.

After many times, Chinya stopped asking and automatically began a new minute.

At first, Chinya felt very relaxed, but the longer the training lasted, the more tired his body became.

He had started training at five in the morning. Now, it was almost ten o'clock.

This one-minute training continued.

Chinya's speed grew slower, his steps heavier. He was bitten multiple times by the snakes.

Luckily, these snakes weren't poisonous. If they were, Chinya would have died countless times already.

However, during the first bite, Orochimaru allowed Chinya to activate [Sharingan] for training.

Activating the Sharingan gave him sharper vision, making the training a bit easier—at first.

But the Sharingan couldn't increase Chinya's stamina. The snakes' speed remained fast, so the training soon became difficult again.

Since Chinya had stopped asking questions, Orochimaru had been silently studying the taijutsu scroll as if he'd completely forgotten about her, leaving Chinya feeling rather annoyed.

The moment Chinya lost focus, a snake bit her arm.

After shaking off the snake and preparing herself for the next round, Orochimaru's voice came: "Let's end today's taijutsu training here."

Never before had Chinya found Orochimaru's raspy voice so pleasant. Instantly, she collapsed onto the ground, breathing heavily.

The exercise seemed simple—and indeed, it was. Yet it severely tested precision, concentration, stamina, and speed, especially eyesight.

Keeping full attention locked on the snakes' movements had left Chinya's eyes sore and dry, causing her vision to blur with double images.

Orochimaru closed the taijutsu scroll in his hands and stood up, walking over to where Chinya sat.

He began explaining her shortcomings: "[Your issues are significant.] Your speed and endurance rely entirely on Lightning Release chakra stimulating your body, increasing its activity level.

Without the Lightning Release enhancement, initially you averaged hitting around 120 snakes per minute—roughly two snakes per second. Compared to others your age, that speed is already quite impressive. However, for someone pursuing speed like yourself, your combat speed remains completely unsatisfactory.

As for your stamina, after one hour, your accuracy when striking the snakes significantly decreased. In actual combat, this means your fighting capability would drop considerably after just an hour.

[Your concentration] barely meets standards—at the two-hour mark you finally got bitten by a snake. However, [your usage of the Sharingan] needs improvement.

Activating the [Sharingan] grants enhanced dynamic vision. You shouldn't be focusing only on the few snakes directly in front of you like you did before gaining this ability. Instead, make full use of your improved sight to analyze movements from surrounding snakes and react accordingly in advance.

You've become overly reliant on Lightning chakra enhancements. What you need now is dedicated effort towards improving your physique. Once your physique improves, using Lightning chakra to activate your body will significantly boost both your speed and endurance.

Therefore, tomorrow morning's taijutsu training will include strength training in addition to our current regimen."

Listening carefully to Orochimaru's explanation of her shortcomings, Chinya took all the feedback to heart.

Still, a small wave of disappointment crept into her heart.

She believed she had worked hard all along and should be considered quite accomplished. But according to Orochimaru, she appeared surprisingly inadequate.

She needed to work even harder—no, much harder.

Grateful for his instruction, Chinya thanked him sincerely: "Thank you, Orochimaru-sensei! I'll give it everything I've got!"

Orochimaru nodded slightly. "First, let's go have lunch. This afternoon we'll begin ninjutsu training."

Chinya followed Orochimaru out of the training ground.

She never expected that lunch would be personally prepared by Orochimaru himself—an omurice (Japanese-style omelet rice) dish covered in sauce.

Looking at the sauce-drenched omelet rice before her, it actually looked quite delicious.

Taking a bite confirmed that it really was delicious.

Though unsure exactly why, Chinya couldn't help but be impressed.

Orochimaru had really become obsessed with techniques—he even studied a ninjutsu scroll while eating.

The afternoon ninjutsu training began.

Ninjutsu training was no picnic compared to taijutsu—actually, it was even tougher.

Since Chinya currently knew nothing besides Thunder Breathing, Orochimaru started by teaching him C-ranked elemental techniques in lightning, fire, water, and earth, letting Chinya practice them first.

Chinya kept consuming chakra as he practiced these techniques.

When his chakra ran out, he replenished it on the spot and continued training immediately.

The short time Chinya got to recover chakra was practically his only break.

It wasn't until about six o'clock in the evening that Chinya finally stopped training for the day.

After wolfing down dinner, Chinya flopped onto his bed like a corpse.

Mainly because there wasn't a drop of energy left in him.

They wrung out every drop of his strength in the morning, then sucked his chakra bone-dry in the afternoon. The first day of training had already been this brutal.

Chinya couldn't help but shiver uncontrollably at the thought of what lay ahead.
