Shiratori didn't pause for even a second. He immediately ran to the next wounded ninja waiting for treatment.
Hanzō kept a close eye on him. If even a trace of fatigue appeared on the boy's face, he would immediately make him stop.
Watching Shiratori tirelessly devoted to healing, he couldn't help but think of his younger self again. This child in front of him was just too much like how he used to be.
Same love for the village, same selfless dedication, same unwavering resolve...

Shiratori subtly glanced at Hanzō.
To gain the Salamander's reminiscence points, he had to act like a strong, village-loving boy in front of him. So far, it seemed Hanzō was buying into it completely.
Gratitude points kept chiming in his mind like pleasant bells.
He had never heard music so beautiful.
Now his gratitude points had reached 9000. If he healed one more person, he'd be able to activate a new cursed spirit.
Unable to contain his excitement, he moved toward the next injured ninja.

Killing intent?
Where did that come from?
He calmly swept his gaze over the injured ninjas lying on the ground.
Who was emitting this killing intent?
Why would they harbor such feelings toward him?
Could it be that someone here was a spy sent by another ninja village to infiltrate Ame?
The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
Only a spy from another village would harbor killing intent toward someone healing Ame ninjas. And with such intense killing intent, it seemed this person couldn't wait to eliminate him as a threat.
Shiratori didn't know who this spy was, and he couldn't risk asking Hanzō or Chiba. But he was sure they would act eventually.
Before that happens, they had better rack up more Killing Intent Points!
Calm and composed, he crouched down and continued his healing.
"Thank you…"
A ninja leaning against the wall gave him a faint smile. As he watched the wound healing under his hand, he glanced at the ninja.
Strange.
Why aren't there any gratitude points?
"I… I have something I want to give you… Thank you… for saving me…"
The ninja's pale lips moved, eyes filled with hope as he looked at Shiratori.
He raised an eyebrow. This guy kept saying thank you, yet he still hadn't earned any gratitude points from him.

Shiratori stared at the ninja in front of him.
So, this guy is the source, huh?
No wonder he wasn't gaining any gratitude points.
This ninja only had killing intent points for him.
"I can't accept your gift. I saved you because you are a hero who protects the village, not because of any gift."
With that, he turned around and reached out to the next wounded ninja behind him. He had given the spy the opportunity. He hoped they wouldn't let him down.
He wasn't worried about getting hurt at all.
From the moment he started healing, Hanzō's gaze had never once left him. Even if Hanzō couldn't react in time, he still had three layers of protection: Rika, Sukuna, and Choso.
Of course, he didn't believe this ninja could successfully carry out an assassination right under Hanzō's nose.

The spy stared at the completely unguarded boy in front of him, and his fingers twitched slightly. Even if it meant exposing his identity, he was determined to take this kid down with him.
With this boy here, the casualties in Ame would drastically decrease. And that would only increase the threat to Suna.
For the sake of Suna, even if he died, he had to kill this boy. He absolutely couldn't let him live.
If he survived, Ame would gain an enormous advantage. Defeating Ame would only become harder.
Shiratori's hands glowed with green light. He appeared completely unaware, fully immersed in the healing process.
The wounded ninja he was treating slowly began to wake, as two medical-nin helped prop the injured man up.
Hanzō watched the boy's face. Once this treatment was finished, he would force the boy to rest. No matter how gifted Shiratori was, it didn't change the fact that he was still just a child. He wasn't built to work tirelessly like an adult medical-nin.
In the dim tower, a flash of white light passed quickly through his eyes.
A kunai tip silently approached Shiratori's neck.
Hanzō's pupils contracted.
"Shiratori!"
Chiba shuddered and immediately ran toward him. However, a figure was even faster than him.
Even though he had been mentally prepared, the moment danger arrived, the hairs on the back of Shiratori's neck stood on end.
Boom!
A loud explosion sounded behind him. He snapped his head around.
The spy's body had been slammed to the ground by Hanzō. His arms and legs had all been broken, twisted into grotesque angles. His head had been smashed into the floor, blood spurting from his mouth and nose.
His venomous eyes landed squarely on Shiratori.

Hanzō decisively dislocated the spy's jaw to prevent suicide. His gaze was dark and grim as he stared at the ninja on the floor. An infiltrator had actually managed to sneak in, and nearly harmed Shiratori.
He nodded to Chiba. "Take him away."
There was no need for Hanzō to say more, Chiba already knew exactly what to do. He stepped forward, grabbed the spy's hair, and roughly dragged him out the door.
Shiratori stood frozen in place, wide-eyed, his small frame trembling slightly. In his mind, however, he was thinking about the hatred points the spy had just given him.
Killing intent had activated Sukuna, reminiscence had activated Choso… then what cursed spirit would hatred activate?
Jogo? Hanami? Dagon?
He mentally reviewed the names of all known cursed spirits. He felt that the most likely one to be activated by intense hatred was Jogo.
Unfortunately, he had only gathered 5000 hatred points. His shoulders sagged slightly in disappointment.
"Are you okay?"
Hanzō crouched in front of Shiratori, his eyes filled with concern. Since the attempted attack, the boy had been like a statue, showing no reaction at all.
Two medical-nin nervously supported him.
