After Natsuki left, Tsunade couldn't help but rub her temples again.

Shizune spoke with concern, "Tsunade-sama, that old man Danzo is going too far. Should we join forces with Elder Homura and Elder Koharu to pressure him a bit?"

Tsunade rolled her eyes. "Those three are like wearing the same pair of pants. How do you pressure them? I didn't expect that under my direct supervision, Danzo would still dare to set his sights on Kakuzu's corpse, and he even secretly sent people to dig up Hidan's corpse. That old geezer is truly insane!"

Shizune fell silent, not knowing what to say.

She naturally held no goodwill towards Danzo. Not only did he not help the village, but he constantly caused trouble for Tsunade-sama. This time, he had truly crossed the line.

But there was nothing to be done. Back when the Third was in power, Danzo had already been highly favored. Even though Root was officially disbanded, Danzo's influence in the village remained deeply entrenched. Moreover, Homura and Koharu basically shared interests with Danzo, often ignoring Tsunade's opinions and choosing to support him instead.

This infuriated Tsunade.

She was different from the Third. She was a decisive reformist who wanted to abolish many of the village's rotten traditions to create a new Konoha.

But such reforms naturally threatened the interests of those old geezers, so they united to resist.

Tsunade truly wished she could punch each of those old men to death. At their age, why not just retire peacefully instead of desperately clinging to power and benefits like vampires?

In reality, weren't they just vampires?

Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo later died, but Homura and Koharu lived for a long time. Even when Kakashi, Naruto, and Shikamaru became Hokage one after another, those two old fossils were still around, occupying their positions and benefits without retiring, constantly meddling in everything. If it weren't for Naruto and the others being too kind-hearted, any more ruthless successor would not only have stripped them of power but also forced the Homura and Koharu clans to vomit out all the blood they'd sucked over the years.

Tsunade took a deep breath. "Shizune, you don't need to stay here for now. Go keep watch at the Intelligence Division. Danzo failed to steal a corpse this time, but he'll try again. Help me keep an eye on him."

"Yes, Tsunade-sama!"

Shizune put down Tonton to accompany Tsunade, then quickly left.

...

Meanwhile, in Root's base.

Hidan, now almost a lump of rotten flesh, was still speaking with his head, "Oi! You blasphemers! Jashin-sama will never forgive you!"

Danzo looked at Hidan with a strange gleam in his eyes.

Still alive even like this… truly immortal, huh? Did this Jashin cult really have such miraculous powers?

Beside him, Yamanaka Fuu and Aburame Torune were kneeling. "Forgive us, Danzo-sama. We failed to retrieve Kakuzu's corpse. It is our fault."

Danzo waved his hand. "Tsunade was watching personally. It's normal you couldn't get it. But there are other ways. Take some men to investigate the Jashin cult in the Land of Rivers. Bring back all information intact. Also, send some to Takigakure. There might be another version of Earth Grudge Fear (Jiongu)."

Both immediately bowed. "Understood!"

Danzo watched them leave, his eyes gleaming with ambition. "Hiruzen is dead, but I will never die! I will find the secret of immortality. Even if I have to outlast Tsunade, I will become Hokage, and I will remain Konoha's Hokage forever! Hiruzen, you can never surpass me!"

...

Elsewhere, Natsuki was riding his giant eagle towards the Land of Wind.

After disguising himself, he located the area where Deidara and Sasori were last seen, as reported in intelligence, and began tracking them based on clues.

Fortunately, the two moved boldly without concealing themselves at all.

Natsuki easily found them and simply tailed from a distance without approaching or attempting any foolish tricks to eavesdrop. Instead, he took out pen and paper to sketch their appearances and selectively recorded their basic information.

For example, Deidara was a rogue ninja from Iwagakure, specializing in clay bombs, able to create flying clay constructs for aerial bombardment, and his clay bombs were countered by Lightning Release (Raiton).

Sasori of the Red Sand, a rogue ninja from Sunagakure, Chiyo-baa-sama's grandson, whose true form was a puppet, specialized in puppet techniques (Kugutsu no Jutsu).

In fact, there wasn't much need to write about Sasori. Tsunade and Chiyo-baa-sama were old rivals and knew each other well. Tsunade had plenty of methods against puppets – a punch per puppet would do. And if they were poisoned, so what? Tsunade was the strongest medical ninja in the entire shinobi world.

After completing his intelligence notes, Natsuki had nothing else to do.

During the day, he would casually tail them, or simply enter his Gravity Training Room to train without worrying about losing them.

The mission this time was just investigation. Even if he lost them, it didn't matter. He already had their intel. Returning home would still count as mission accomplished. Rather than wasting time tailing them, it was better to seize the chance to train more.

At that moment, in the Gravity Training Room, Natsuki was casting jutsu under fifteen times gravity.

He recalled Kakuzu's hand seals and mimicked them. The next second, he opened his mouth and spat out several massive lightning spears.

"Lightning Release: False Darkness (Raiton: Gian)!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The lightning spears shredded distant mountain peaks into ruins.

As for Earth Release: Earth Spear (Doton: Domu) and Water Release: Water Encampment Wall (Suiton: Suijinheki), they were essentially just hardening and water cannon techniques, both of which Natsuki had long mastered. Still, he practiced them and found that Kakuzu's versions were clearly superior, with extremely hard earth spears and terrifyingly powerful water cannons.

No wonder Kakuzu mostly used these few jutsu. It wasn't that he couldn't use others, but these were simply his strongest.

Most of the time, these alone were enough to defeat enemies. If not, he'd just combine them for even greater effect, sweeping everything before him.

"Too bad I don't have fire or wind affinity. I can train them, but they're not my natural elements, so it's harder to master."

Despite saying that, Natsuki still memorized the hand seals for Fire Release: Head Hardening (Katon: Zukokku) and Wind Release: Pressure Damage (Futon: Atsugai) and even managed to use them. But compared to Kakuzu's devastating power, his own attempts were like an ant compared to an elephant.

He didn't mind. It was just for fun.

Besides, Kakuzu's jutsu might prove useful for future exchanges or to teach his future students.

And so, Natsuki trained outside for an entire month.

He wasn't in a rush to return. Going back too soon might result in being assigned another mission. The longer he stayed out, the more difficult the mission would appear, and the greater his potential rewards.

Of course, he still sent paper notes to Tsunade's office periodically, sometimes including incomplete bits of intel.

This way, it showed he was indeed investigating, but still needed more time.

Fortunately, Tsunade wasn't pushing him. After all, his current investigation progress was a normal pace for such missions. His previous efficiencies were so absurd they had seemed unbelievable.
