Naruto: I Draw Power Into Reality

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: We Are the People in the Painting

"From now on, none of you are leaving. You'll stay in the village and reflect on your actions!"

Akaba had just barely opened his eyes when he caught wind of this good news.

That worked out great—he wasn't keen on heading out anyway. Too risky out there!

Just dealing with a Jonin forced him to reveal his Fire Release trump card and cost over four hundred precious points to restore his mental energy.

In real wartime, when Jonin roam the streets and elite ninja pop up everywhere, even the battlefield won't feel safe.

Akaba originally wanted to get up, but then quickly gave up the idea.

He worked hard for this rest period—why wake up early? That's how you end up being treated like a comic sidekick.

"But Master, what if Jiraiya shows up?"

Tsunade grew anxious.

If they couldn't leave the village, how could they locate Jiraiya should he appear?

"We've already reached an agreement with the Uzumaki Village. They'll send their ninja to help search for Jiraiya."

Hiruzen Sarutobi said coldly, "Tsunade, you have great talent, but I don't want to see you limited by it."

"Master, I understand."

Tsunade lowered her head, fully aware of the meaning behind the Third's words.

"Master, please train us harder! Please!"

Orochimaru's voice followed.

Akaba remained still in bed, lost in thought.

These two kids really took a hit.

But perhaps that's not a bad thing—more sweat in training means less bloodshed on the battlefield. Jiraiya's time is running short; it's about time these two stepped up their game.

"Good. I'm glad you have such determination. First, Tsunade—you must learn to control your chakra, emotions, and strength."

"Orochimaru, you excel in every aspect. You can perfectly combine Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and ninja tools, but currently, you lack strong, effective offensive abilities. Your next goal is to master [Vacuum Sphere] and [Great Vacuum Cannon]."

Orochimaru's first nature transformation focused on Wind Release, so naturally, the Third encouraged him to strengthen that area.

However,

Orochimaru himself had different thoughts.

He didn't share them with the Third because he knew full well the Third would never approve.

"Now, Akaba, you're awake. Come out—I need to speak with you alone."

Hiruzen Sarutobi turned around and walked toward the room.

"Has Akaba woken up?"

Orochimaru paused for a moment before rushing into the room.

Tsunade hurried in after, only to see Akaba still lying in bed, clearly not yet conscious.

"Cough, cough. Master, I just woke up myself."

Akaba sat up nervously.

The Third was too sharp—he'd controlled both his breathing rhythm and aura, yet still got caught.

"Heh, if even that much escaped me, I wouldn't deserve being Hokage."

Hiruzen Sarutobi smirked, then waved for Orochimaru and others to leave.

He then sat beside the bed, puffing on his pipe looking unusually troubled.

Is he waiting for Akaba to speak first?

Akaba muttered inwardly but stayed silent.

For a while, the room fell into silence.

Unwillingly, Hiruzen took another puff of his cigarette, pretended to be choked by the smoke, and kindly asked, "Cough... Akaba, do you have any... other thoughts about the village?"

"No, sir! Why would you think that?!"

Akaba immediately replied.

"You possess [Five Senses Manipulation] and exceptional [Genjutsu] skills, surpassing many within the village."

"Your talent in ninjutsu is exceptional. You've mastered three chakra nature transformations, and even used the Multiple Shadow Clones technique—an A-ranked jutsu—while at the academy."

"Even your Taijutsu skills are among the best of the Sakuma clan."

The Third's unrelenting praise only made Akaba more and more uneasy about where this conversation was going.

"But you've never shared any of this with us, and you keep yourself apart from everyone. Who exactly are you wary of?"

Hiruzen sighed, his expression filled with sorrow.

A Jonin isn't someone you can easily get the upper hand on—even if they let their guard down, you still need to seize the moment properly.

"T-Teacher, I…"

Akaba hesitated, unsure how to respond.

Wary of whom?

Even he couldn't answer that question himself. Perhaps it was Danzo he feared, or maybe some unknown enemy from the future.

Hiruzen puffed on his pipe and continued, "At first, I didn't understand. But then I read your work."

"Pfft, my manga?"

Confused, Akaba couldn't figure out why the Third had said that.

Then came the explanation: "In your eyes, we're nothing but characters on paper, while you're the author who created this fictional world. It will empower you greatly and vastly enhance your mental strength, but it also risks making you lose yourself."

"I hope you can stop creating manga for now and spend some time thinking about other things."

Initially shocked and alarmed, Akaba thought his secret had been discovered.

But as he listened further, some of the tension and fear inside him began to ease. He stammered, "Teacher... maybe I really am exactly what you described."

"Good to hear that."

"You'll return to Konoha in a few days. Read through your family's archives and spend some time with them."

With those final words, Hiruzen lit his pipe, his expression heavy with sorrow, and turned to leave.

As he watched the Third walk away, Akaba's racing heart finally began to slow.

"So, the Third believes I've awakened some special ability called 'Ido' because of my manga, rather than suspecting I'm an actual reincarnator or something else entirely."

"They're all extremely sharp individuals—I'll need to be extra careful from now on!"

Though just a false alarm, Akaba mentally scolded himself. Yet part of what the Third said wasn't wrong—he sometimes did look at certain people in Konoha as though they were merely characters within his own drawn world.

As for returning to Konoha, now that the agreement between Konoha and Uzumaki Village had been settled, everyone was preparing to head home.

The meaning behind the Third's words seemed clear enough—it was meant to help him handle the threat from Danzo.

Danzo never stayed idle—whether the Ninja World was at peace or not, he'd always find ways to cause chaos. And right now, that included causing problems within Root and targeting students.

This hard-earned vacation should be cherished while you have it.

With no duties to fulfill, Akaba immediately got out of bed for some fresh air and decided to check on Orochimaru and Tsunade's training routines.

Though mainly, he was interested in observing Tsunade.

Orochimaru's personality and abilities weren't things Akaba could easily influence, but when it came to Tsunade's issues, he considered himself quite experienced.

After all, as a ninja focused on preserving chakra and physical energy, every drop needed careful management.

Because of their differing training requirements, Tsunade needed open space to test her control over the [Strength of a Hundred Seal Technique], while Orochimaru's practice of Vacuum Sphere required more targets.

After searching around, Akaba finally found Tsunade outside the village.

Numerous fist-shaped craters surrounded her, clearly indicating she hadn't yet achieved complete control, judging by the inconsistent sizes and shapes of the impact zones.

After all, she was still young. She wasn't one of the legendary Sannin yet.

Akaba sighed slightly. He didn't know what had originally happened in Tsunade's canon that led her to realize the importance of control and eventually become the greatest medical ninja. But now, she was still so inexperienced.

"Ahhh, it's you, Orochi. I'm surprised you actually came out of your room."

Tsunade didn't react at all—she just wasn't in the mood for jokes like this anymore.

"It seems I've completely ruined my image in your eyes if you never expected me to come see you."

Akaba chuckled lightly without offense.

"I really don't have the heart to talk like this right now. My teacher told me to improve my control, but I have no idea where to even begin."

Tsunade looked discouraged. Her chakra control wasn't bad at all, but to perfectly master the Strength of a Hundred Seal technique required even finer precision, and she still fell short for now.

"Let me give you some advice."

As Akaba spoke, he quickly drew something with a swishing sound.

Before long, Tsunade felt a momentary daze before finding herself in a different world entirely.

Then, she saw a figure—an illusionary version of herself.

Just as she felt astonished, the illusionary "her" threw a punch that shattered the ground into pieces, sending countless rocks flying in a spectacular display.

"Take a look," Akaba's voice echoed, "and tell me how this punch compares to yours."

Tsunade stepped closer, carefully studying the effects of the impact. At first glance, they looked the same. Yet upon further inspection, she realized the cracks on the ground caused by this punch were incredibly uniform, with even the outer edges suffering equal damage.

To reach such a level required an extraordinary degree of control.

That's right—what Akaba had shown her was none other than the [Cherry Blossom Tearing Impact] she would eventually create herself!
