"These things were discovered by me and Kakashi. The two of us will report directly to the third Hokage. As for the rest of you, you saw nothing. Understood?"

"Understood, understood."

"As the only two still capable of fighting, we pursued Orochimaru to this location, but he managed to escape using an Escape Jutsu. That's when we discovered all of this."

"Is this really okay? We didn't contribute much to the fight. Wouldn't we be taking credit for your achievements, Clan Head Kuragami?" 

Yugao Uzuki hesitated.

"That doesn't matter." 

Kuragami Uchiha said. "I don't need the credit, but you all can't afford the trouble."

"Alright, I'll write the report that way. But you all must be careful not to let anything slip." 

Kakashi said, ignoring Yugao Uzuki's doubts.

Seiichi Nagai and Ryuta Kuromu now looked at Kuragami Uchiha with completely different eyes. 

What kind of member had they encountered on this mission? Not only was he willing to share credit, but he also took on the heaviest burden without hesitation.

"Of course, I'll report it to the third Hokage, and under his wise leadership, we eradicate the village's darkness in the name of the will of fire." Kuragami Uchiha replied without even looking up.

Kakashi: "..."

"So even now, I can't get a single honest word from you?" Kakashi said coldly.

"You want the truth?" 

Kuragami Uchiha's lips curled into a faint smile. "Then that means you've made a choice."

"I just want to know the truth about my father's incident." 

Kakashi stated.

Kuragami Uchiha nodded. "That's enough."

"The truth is, I'll use this evidence to slowly bring down the Shimura, Utatane, and Mitokado clan... and then take their place."

Kakashi's pupils contracted. He knew that Kuragami Uchiha still wasn't telling him everything. 

After all, there was one more clan that had risen to power alongside those three under the third Hokage's rule, the Sarutobi clan. If Kuragami Uchiha planned to eliminate the other three and take their place, what would happen to the Sarutobi clan?

Noticing Kakashi's expression, Kuragami Uchiha grinned and patted his shoulder. "Kakashi, if you want to master the way of the bow, you still have much to learn."

Without waiting for a response, Kuragami Uchiha gathered the incriminating evidence from Orochimaru's base and walked outside.

Once everything was done, Inoka Uchiha and Saito Uchiha unleashed two powerful Fire Style Jutsu, reducing Orochimaru's base to ashes in a raging inferno. Only after the flames died down did the team finally set out on their return journey.

They traveled in silence until deep into the night, when they arrived back in town. Kuragami Uchiha led them to the restaurant where they had dined and drank before, ordering a lavish feast. After several rounds of alcohol, the team finally began to relax.

Taking advantage of his slight intoxication, Ryuta Kuromu raised his cup. "Everyone, I say we should toast Clan Head Kuragami! We all made it back safely, thanks to him!"

"Exactly!" 

Seiichi Nagai joined in, lifting his own cup. "The village always spreads bad rumors about the Uchiha, but after this mission, we've seen their true character! Especially Clan Head Kuragami, he's simply..."

Seiichi Nagai gave a big thumbs-up.

"No need for so many words! A toast to Clan Head Kuragami!" Ken Hyuga also raised his glass.

"Hey, didn't I already say? We only succeeded because of everyone's efforts!" 

Kuragami Uchiha waved his hand dismissively but still lifted his glass and downed it with the others.

"Kuragami is right. This mission was a success because of everyone's contributions." 

Kakashi said after finishing his drink. "Once we return, I'll make sure to put in a good word for you all with Hokage-sama."

Seeing this, Kuragami Uchiha smiled in satisfaction. At this moment, though Kakashi still seemed somewhat clumsy in handling such situations, he was finally beginning to understand things.
