Chapter 137: Hiruzen Vs Danzo

---Uzumaki Mito POV---

"What? My father killed the nobles?" Mito asked in disbelief.

"Yes, Mito-sama," replied the Senju guard. "Apparently, he did this because the nobles were playing a twisted game called human hunting."

"Human hunting?" Mito frowned.

"The game involves releasing a group of children, and the nobles hunt them like animals. Uzukage happened to notice their activities and, unable to contain his anger, decided to kill those who participated," the guard explained.

Mito felt proud of her father's decision and even smiled upon hearing the report. However, she quickly grew concerned for Uzushiogakure. After living for more than a decade in Konoha, she had seen how politics worked and knew that Hashirama's decision to maintain the nobles was a mistake.

'Luckily, I listened to Setsuna about the seal that protects Uzushiogakure,' Mito thought.

The seal surrounding Uzushiogakure was incredibly strong, known as the impenetrable defense. The whirlpools would drag down anyone who tried to approach by water, making Uzushiogakure the safest village in the world.

Suddenly, another guard entered.

"Mito-sama, Hokage-sama and Danzo-sama are here to see you," the guard reported.

---Sealing Jutsu---

"Mito-sama," Hiruzen greeted her, followed by Danzo.

"What brings the Hokage here?" Mito asked coldly.

In the original timeline, Mito had the Nine-Tails, which allowed her to sense the negative thoughts radiating from others. But in this timeline, she was the Jinchuuriki of Gyuki. Even though both were tailed beasts, Gyuki didn't have that ability, and he was much weaker than Kurama.

Although Mito no longer had the ability to detect human malice, she had matured greatly, thanks to Setsuna.

In this timeline, Madara wasn't the only one taking drastic actions. Setsuna had taken a different path, going to Uzushiogakure instead.

Madara's final words—that a war bigger than before would come—proved to be true.

Mito also had the warning from Setsuna regarding the seal to block the whirlpools around the island of Uzushiogakure. Plus, Gyuki often discussed politics with her, making her more insightful.

"Mito-sama, we just wanted to visit and inquire about the Eight-Tails Jinchuuriki," said Hiruzen.

"Have you managed to become a perfect Jinchuuriki like Aburame Toka?" added Danzo.

"Don't worry about the Eight-Tails. The other villages won't attack Konoha after the First World War. Not before I or Toka die," replied Mito.

However, there was another reason for their visit. The Fire Daimyo had requested access to the seals that allowed entry into Uzushiogakure. Danzo had come to obtain the Uzumaki clan's fuinjutsu to safely enter Uzushiogakure.

"Mito-sama," Hiruzen began.

"Yes?" Mito responded.

"Do you have a fuinjutsu portal commonly used by the Uzumaki clan?" Hiruzen asked.

"Hmmm... why do you need it?" Mito inquired.

"The fuinjutsu portal could help with logistics," Hiruzen replied.

"No, I don't have that jutsu," Mito revealed.

Hearing this, Danzo decided to try his luck.

"Mito-sama, could you ask Uzushiogakure for the sealing technique they use to open the portal?"

Mito frowned. Hearing Danzo's request, she had already resolved not to reveal anything about Uzushiogakure to either the Hokage or Danzo.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot. That jutsu is a secret of Uzushiogakure," Mito said firmly.

Danzo and Hiruzen frowned, realizing they had pushed too far. Any further questions, and Mito might suspect something.

---Danzo and Hiruzen---

"Hiruzen, it seems impossible to attack Uzushiogakure," said Danzo as they returned to the Hokage's office.

"That's good," Hiruzen smiled. "At least we're protecting what our teacher wanted to protect."

"Hiruzen... you!" Danzo pointed, shocked by Hiruzen's sudden reversal.

"What? Do you think I actually want to destroy Uzushiogakure?" questioned Hiruzen.

"That's nonsense! If you didn't want to, why did you agree not to protect them?" Danzo demanded.

"Because I had no choice. If I refused, our funding would be cut, and it would severely damage Konoha," Hiruzen replied calmly.

"You'll regret this," Danzo said, leaving Hiruzen behind.

Hiruzen sighed before muttering, "It's all for Konoha."

This revealed Hiruzen's true nature. He always chose what was best for him. Even in the original storyline, he had the choice to prevent the Uchiha Clan's destruction by simply stepping down and allowing someone else capable to lead the village.

The same thing happened here. He chose to side with Uzumaki Mito, knowing even his advisors couldn't challenge him much. If they truly wanted to take the sealing jutsu protecting Uzushiogakure, they could just ask Mito-sama directly.

---Spy---

The villages commissioned by the Daimyo to attack Uzushiogakure were Kumogakure and Kirigakure because their village are very close to the land of the Uzumaki clan.

Elite teams consist of 8 people from Kumo and Kirigakure were formed to infiltrate Uzushiogakure. Their first plan was to use the gate to familiarize themselves with the surrounding area.

However, the teleportation gate was guarded by a clone of Setsuna himself. Setsuna deeply cared for Uzushiogakure, so he personally acted as a guard, wearing a mask to conceal his identity.

The arrival of the elite teams did not go unnoticed by Setsuna.

Name: Tenzo

Loyalty: -100%

Status: Spy, commissioned by the Daimyo, Kumogakure operative.

Upon noticing the team, Setsuna acted swiftly, easily capturing all of them and sealing their chakra so they couldn't fight back.

"Take them to the interrogation prison. If they're here they will block any other merchants who plan to visit and shopping," ordered Setsuna.

As an Uchiha, Setsuna didn't need to torture enemies. The Uchiha possessed the best eyes for interrogation, and there were also members of the Yamanaka clan present.

"Setsuna-sama," greeted a Yamanaka clan member at the prison.

"They're spies. Can you read their minds?" asked Setsuna.

"Spies? Understood," the Yamanaka ninja agreed.

He placed his hand on the spy's head, allowing chakra to flow into the spy's brain.

After a few minutes, he managed to access the spy's chakra memory, revealing the reason behind the infiltration, the Daimyo's decision to destroy Uzushiogakure.

After releasing the jutsu, the Yamanaka ninja relayed all the details to Setsuna.

"I'll meet with the Uzukage first," said Setsuna. "As for the spies, there's no need to torture them. Just give them some food."

"But what about their punishment?" asked the Uzumaki guard.

"They'll most likely be executed, but that's up to the Uzukage," Setsuna replied with a smile.
