Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Sage Mode Kabuto.
"Kaito-san, you must be joking."
A raspy voice echoed behind him.
Kaito turned and saw Orochimaru and Kabuto Yakushi approaching steadily, their expressions unreadable.
"Joking?" Kaito sneered. "You think I'm joking?"
He narrowed his eyes. "You're the one responsible for all this, Orochimaru."
"Kaito-san, please," Orochimaru said with a snake-like smile. "Do me a favor. Let Sasuke come with me. I'll repay you with anything you want."
He licked his lips with a grotesque, elongated tongue.
"A favor?" Kaito scoffed. "If you were still in your prime, maybe I'd consider it. But now? You've lost your techniques. You're a shadow of the Sannin you used to be. To be blunt, I could beat both of you without breaking a sweat. Why should I show you any respect?"
Orochimaru had valuable things—First Hokage cells, the Reanimation Jutsu—but dealing with him was too dangerous. His tricks, his escape routes, his hidden labs… the trouble would never end.
"You're choosing to fight me then?" Orochimaru's tone darkened, and a faint killing intent leaked from him.
"Exactly. I'd love to see how much of the Legendary Sannin you still have left." Kaito smiled coldly.
Tension filled the air. Kabuto adjusted his glasses calmly, "how about this? Let Sasuke go with us, and Lord Orochimaru will owe you three favors."
"No need," Kaito said flatly. "I told you, I'm cutting off both of Sasuke's arms today—and none of you are going to stop me."
He turned back toward Sasuke, red lightning surging along the blade of his thunder-infused sword.
Fwoosh!
Suddenly, a sharp gust sliced through the air behind him.
Orochimaru's neck extended like a serpent, his jaw unhinged wide open. Within his mouth, the Kusanagi Sword shot out, gripped by his long tongue.
Kabuto rushed in behind him, chakra scalpel in hand.
Kaito didn't flinch. "Perfect. Let me see if the former leader of the Sannin still has anything worth showing me. Last time, I wasn't satisfied."
His figure vanished in a flash of red lightning.
Zzzzt!
Sparks burst from his hands as dual Raikiri formed in an instant, chirping with deadly power. His eyes gleamed with excitement.
One blade clashed directly with Orochimaru's sword, stopping it mid-air.
At the same moment, Kaito slashed with his second hand—summoning a massive Sekiryū Raijin that roared and pounced toward Kabuto.
Clang!
Raikiri and Kusanagi clashed violently, and sparks flew.
Though crafted by the Land of Iron, and famed for channeling chakra and cutting through almost anything, Orochimaru's Kusanagi blade suddenly sizzled. A sulfurous, burnt-metal smell filled the air.
A jagged crack formed along the edge where it met Kaito's lightning.
Orochimaru's eyes widened in disbelief.
Then—snap—a piece of the blade fell to the ground.
Kaito saw this . He clenched his fist, gathering chakra.
BOOM!
His punch slammed straight into Orochimaru's abdomen.
The impact sent Orochimaru flying. He skidded across the water, bounced into the trees beyond, and disappeared into the forest, crashing through several thick trunks.
Kaito didn't hesitate. He turned sharply and set his sights on Kabuto, who was still dodging the Sekiryū Raijin's charge.
With another burst of lightning, Kaito vanished again.
Kabuto barely had time to react before Kaito reappeared in front of him, red lightning flickering along his spear.
He lunged with precision.
"Lord Orochimaru!" Kabuto called out, panicked by what he'd just seen. The blow to Orochimaru had shaken him.
"No… I have to escape!" he thought. 'If even Lord Orochimaru was blown away, why am I still here?'
Kabuto quickly formed hand signs.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
The chakra surged as the water from the nearby lake rose into a towering, serpentine dragon. It crashed toward Kaito with a roar, forcing him back briefly.
Kabuto used the moment to retreat, dashing toward the direction where Orochimaru had flown.
Crack! Crack!
A low hum of thunder rumbled in the distance.
From above, red lightning slithered like a serpent across the lake. Kaito's chakra surged again, condensing into a massive Electric Snake that dove into the water.
Sssshhh!
Electricity exploded across the lake's surface.
Water conducted the current, and crackling arcs ran wild.
Suddenly, Kabuto was launched from the lake, his body twitching with sparks.
Kaito had been waiting. In a blur of motion, he appeared right in front of the airborne Kabuto.
The red Raikiri in his hand thrust forward.
CRACK!
But just before impact, Kabuto's body splashed apart—disintegrating into water.
"Water Clone," Kaito murmured.
Red arcs flickered across his body as electromagnetic pulses spread through the air.
"He's smart, I'll give him that. But when strength reaches this level… tricks like that mean nothing."
With a flicker, Kaito vanished again—this time heading for Sasuke.
Through his chakra sense, he detected Kabuto still running—straight toward Sasuke.
Kaito raised his hand again, surging lightning chakra.
A thunderous crash followed as an enormous Red Lightning Serpent exploded ahead of him, striking the lake with electric fury.
Sizzle!
Water hissed and popped. The entire surface sparked from the current surging through it.
From beneath, Kabuto was electrocuted mid-escape and thrown upward by the shock.
And at that exact moment—
Zap!
Kaito appeared before him, Raikiri extended.
The blade aimed straight for Kabuto's chest.
If this hits… the future "Sage Mode Kabuto" would never exist.
