Naruto: Can’t Use Ninjutsu? I’ll Create the Strongest Fighting Style

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Is It Still a Healing Technique If It Gives You Nightmares?

"That's right," Garou nodded.

Ever since the Second Great Ninja War, medical ninjas, under Tsunade's guidance, had gradually begun integrating into combat teams. But in terms of actual combat effectiveness, most still lagged behind.

"The Aburame Clan makes excellent support operatives," Garou continued. "Any team would feel more secure with one of your clan members present. Now, if you also had healing abilities…"

He smiled. "You'd become the perfect all-purpose teammates. Jack-of-all-trades on the battlefield."

"So that's what you were thinking… I apologize, I didn't even realize…" Shino scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"No worries. But if that's going to be your role, then you'll definitely need a strong foundation in medical knowledge. If you manage to learn medical chakra, even better."

"Yes, I'll give it my all." Shino adjusted his sunglasses, thoughtful.

'Medical chakra…'

Currently, there were no reliable tools or techniques to store chakra for later use.

As the host for the kikaichū, it was best for him to learn how to generate healing chakra himself.

Hyakusa, who had been standing nearby, nodded repeatedly but kept his mouth shut. He looked less like a teacher now and more like a subordinate awaiting instructions. Shino had once thought this deference was strange.

But now… it made perfect sense.

He understood why Hyakusa respected Garou so deeply. Despite being only a year older, Garou had knowledge, vision, and a presence that made others instinctively look to him for leadership.

Even a casual conversation about teamwork and medical strategy held surprising weight when Garou was involved.

"I still have two months before graduation," Shino said with renewed determination. "I'll use the time well."

Garou gave a faint smile, then turned to Hyakusa. "I'm leaving Shino in your hands, senpai. Please take care of him."

"Absolutely!" Hyakusa nodded eagerly. He was playing a direct role in shaping the future path of the Aburame Clan's contribution to medical ninjutsu.

She couldn't help but feel a bit honored.

Garou wasn't entirely sure why Hyakusa suddenly looked so inspired, but it was clear he no longer feared the kikaichū like he once did.

That was good.

It meant Garou could finally slip away.

After offering a few more instructions, he quietly exited the lab.

'Whew…'

"Is everything going smoothly?"

"Gah!" Garou nearly bit his tongue in surprise. He turned sharply.

And there stood Aburame Shibi, Shino's father and the current head of the Aburame Clan.

"Lord Shibi, you're here? Why didn't you go inside?"

"Shino will perform better on his own."

Shibi's tone was calm and even, as always.

'So he's training his son through independence,' Garou mused.

"Shino did great," Garou said. "He succeeded on his first attempt. I also suggested he try learning medical chakra."

"Medical chakra, huh?" Shibi echoed. "Yes… if our kikaichū can take part in treatment, there's no need for us to master full-fledged medical ninjutsu."

He understood his clan's advantages clearly.

Medical ninjutsu was notoriously difficult. Even the most basic healing jutsu hovered near B-rank in complexity. But if their insects could simply be taught where and when to release stored medical chakra, there was no need to master the jutsu themselves, just the theory.

It was an incredible shortcut.

Shibi was visibly moved by the potential.

"I don't even know how to thank you," he said quietly.

Garou hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Lord Shibi… I heard your clan's bond with the kikaichū is based on a kind of contract?"

"That's right. We make a pact with the insect colony. In exchange for feeding them chakra, they live within us and assist us in battle."

Shibi nodded without hesitation.

"I'm not trying to pry into your clan's secrets," Garou clarified, "and I'm certainly not offering help in exchange for repayment."

"I just… want to propose a deal."

"What kind of deal?" Shibi had already guessed where this was going.

The kikaichū, of course.

What else could have piqued Garou's interest so strongly?

Honestly, what Garou had done for the Aburame Clan so far was more than he likely even realized. The ripple effects would transform the clan's future.

Even if Garou had asked outright to receive kikaichū, Shibi would have at least considered it seriously.

But if he was offering a trade…

Shibi was curious.

"You probably heard I worked with Master Chiriku of the Fire Temple recently," Garou said.

"I did. Word is, you improved their defensive barrier significantly."

They spoke while walking.

Unconsciously, they ended up near the rear courtyard of the compound. Shibi released a cloud of kikaichū into the surrounding area, having them patrol and monitor the vicinity for eavesdroppers.

"Well," Garou continued, "what's not publicly known is that I received something else in exchange. A certain kind of power."

He raised his finger.

Natural energy, spiritual energy, and physical energy swirled within him, then fused into something entirely new.

Senjutsu chakra.

Shibi's pupils constricted.

His kikaichū buzzed frantically inside his body, reacting to the foreign energy.

"What is that chakra…?"

"I'm not exactly sure," Garou admitted. "But the Fire Temple referred to it as 'The Gift of the Sages.'"

"I see... And you want...?" Shibi's voice grew formal, his posture straightening slightly.

"I want to test whether this chakra can stimulate autonomous evolution in the kikaichū."

Garou finally voiced the idea that had been lingering in his mind for days.

Shibi froze for a second.

Gift of the Sages… He was aware of the legends, yhree great sanctuaries of the summoning beasts, each said to hold profound and ancient power.

If this energy was anything like that…

Then if the kikaichū could evolve...

They wouldn't just be tools of combat or surveillance anymore.

They'd become something entirely new.

Shibi didn't hesitate long.

Only a couple seconds passed before he nodded.

"What do you want in return?"

"I want to sign the kikaichū contract."

Garou's voice was calm but firm.

Shibi fell silent, pondering for just a moment.

Then, he nodded again. "If you can achieve what you propose, I agree."

"You don't need to consult anyone?"

Garou blinked, a little surprised by the speed of his response.

"That won't be necessary. Garou, I don't think you understand how valuable your contributions have already been."

"If your experiment succeeds, and our kikaichū can truly evolve using this Gift of the Sages, the Aburame Clan has no reason to refuse you."

His tone was resolute.

Garou stood still, caught off guard by the directness of it all.

It hit him then. His assistance may very well position the Aburame Clan to replace the power vacuum left by the Uchiha, possibly becoming a new pillar within the village to counterbalance the Hyuga.

And more than that, Shibi clearly knew more than he let on about the secrets of the summoning beasts and their hidden domains.

Garou grinned. "Then… to a successful partnership."

"Indeed," Shibi replied. "But this isn't the place for further discussion. I'll invite you to the Aburame Compound later. We'll explore this in more depth."

"Alright. But keep in mind. This power isn't something everyone can wield. If we try to apply it broadly, there might be casualties."

"That's fine," Shibi said without blinking. "Insects reproduce rapidly."

Things were going far smoother than expected.

Garou was genuinely pleased.

Normal kikaichū were limited, mainly used for reconnaissance or suppression. But if they could harness senjutsu chakra?

Their purpose, power, and classification would change entirely.

Of course, raising them in bulk wouldn't be viable.

His plan was to nurture a single insect, a king bug, one uniquely compatible with nature energy, and have it command the rest.

Just like the legendary "Gu" from the folklore of his previous life.

And if this worked… if they truly managed to forge a new sanctuary for evolved insects?

That would be a legacy to be proud of.

The entire Aburame Clan would benefit.
