Chapter 110: A Scheme Against Chimei Wengliang
Unfortunately, due to this place's unique terrain, long ago there lived here a master-level yin-yang practitioner. However, when Isshiki Otsutsuki arrived in the Ninja World, he carried out a purge.
That master yin-yang practitioner had embarrassed Isshiki, so as punishment, Isshiki sealed him inside a tiny sub-space connected to this location.
Eventually, after enduring endless torment, the master yin-yang practitioner died—but his resentment lingered, merging with his familiar spirit and remaining until today. His memories, however, had long faded away, leaving only a few vivid fragments behind. That familiar spirit was none other than Chimei Wengliang—four demons combined into one. Coincidentally, the scroll obtained by the Uzumaki clan had also been left behind by Chimei Wengliang.
When the Uzumaki created the Shinigami, their powerful chakra and the unique ritual unintentionally opened a channel, drawing over that resentful spirit. Due to their similar natures, it eventually fused together with the four secondary death gods.
Ultimately, this intense resentment caused the Shinigami to lose control. Using the clan elder's physical body as its foundation, it began devouring members of the Uzumaki clan. At that time, just having completed a forbidden technique, the clan members were already weakened and completely unprepared for this sudden attack. They stood no chance against the sudden onslaught, plunging the entire Uzumaki clan into life-or-death danger.
As time passed, while this branch of the Uzumaki resisted for a while, most of them could not escape their fate and were completely devoured.
After absorbing the life force of these Uzumaki clansmen, instead of being digested immediately, their energies gathered together. With Chimei Wengliang's power fueling the process, fusion began. Strangely, a qualitative transformation occurred—similar to how regular Byakugan combine to form the Tenseigan, the life forces of the Uzumaki were quite alike in nature.
Eventually, this powerful and special energy temporarily restored the elder's consciousness. At a crucial moment, from within, he delivered a fatal blow to Chimei Wengliang, seriously injuring it. Then, together with several surviving clan members, they used their lives as the price to perform a self-developed sealing technique, successfully sealing away Chimei Wengliang.
Later, the clan elder named this special power an inheritance force, embedding it within a pregnant clan member—his own granddaughter, whose bloodline perfectly matched his. The unborn child was perfectly suited to inherit this unique strength.
In the end, that energy successfully merged completely with the unborn infant, while the rest of the clan perished without exception. That infant was none other than Miroku, the miko of the Land of Demons.
Only the clan elder's granddaughter managed to escape this catastrophe. Yet, having first expended some of her life force performing a forbidden technique, then suffering serious injuries from battling Chimei Wengliang, and finally giving birth to Miroku, she seemed fine at first. But in the end, her inner core had been irreparably damaged.
Years later, Miroku's mother came here to reinforce the seal. After finishing the task, she was ambushed by Chimei Wengliang, which triggered a recurrence of her old wounds and ultimately led to her death. After all, this seal was weaker when it came to binding souls compared to physical containment. Chimei Wengliang were extremely powerful in spiritual aspects and highly skilled, occasionally able to temporarily break free from the seal after gathering strength for a period—similar to Shiyu Uchiha's experience.
After the Land of Demons lost its strong guardian, rebellion broke out later, causing information about this place to be lost. Although eventually all the rebels died, the scrolls recording details about this location were never recovered.
This obscured sealing technique was unlocked by Shiyu Uchiha, allowing Miroku to sense this location, leading to the current situation.
Of course, the last part was merely Miroku's deduction based on Shiyu Uchiha's experience. However, as Miroku finished speaking, Shiyu Uchiha gained some understanding of the situation. At the same time, he became interested in Yin-Yang Masters and their Shikigami, so he asked Miroku, "What exactly are these Yin-Yang Masters and Shikigami? I've never heard of them before."
"I don't fully understand either," replied Miroku calmly. "All I know is that it's a path different from that of ninja. Unlike our use of Chakra, they rely purely on Spiritual Energy. Records say that once they reach a certain level, they can manifest Shikigami through Spiritual Energy or summon beasts to serve as Shikigami. Beyond that, I'm not familiar with the specifics."
Then he added, "That handwritten Yin-Yang Master scroll should still be inside my seal. I don't know whether it has been well-preserved?" He looked toward Shiyu Uchiha.
Shiyu thought for a moment. He guessed this must have been the cultivation system in the Ninja World before the arrival of the Otsutsuki Clan—one primarily focused on spiritual energy. He became somewhat intrigued, suspecting that the scroll might contain exactly what he needed. Though it might have been damaged, considering it had survived over a thousand years, it must possess some unique preservation qualities worth investigating.
Later, Shiyu Uchiha said he needed two days to think things over and also wanted time to recover his drained energy. Finally, Miroku asked him, "What do you think about that Demon?"
Facing her question, Shiyu straight-up described what he saw regarding Chimei Wengliang. He concluded with his opinion: "This Demon is indeed very powerful, but not invincible, just like the Tailed Beasts."
What Shiyu meant was that each of the Five Great Nations had enough strength to handle them. This surprised Miroku; for someone as powerful yet severely lacking in experience as herself, this conclusion was quite shocking.
Most importantly, whether judging from the calmness in Shiyu's eyes or what the Sensor Ninjutsu detected, Shiyu remained completely composed inwardly without the slightest fear. This forced Miroku to place more belief in Shiyu's words.
After a long silence, Miroku finally spoke up, "Three days from now will be a favorable moment. If Shiyu Uchiha wishes to enter, don't miss it."
Shiyu Uchiha returned to his tent, thought it over for a while, and soon made up his mind. He knew that after eons of war and the passage of time, this scroll might now be one-of-a-kind in the Ninja World. Understanding he could not refuse, Shiyu also began meditating to recover his drained spiritual energy, preparing himself to reach peak condition.
Three days later at dawn, Shiyu Uchiha and the miko Miroku returned to the cave where Chimei Wengliang was sealed. They stood before the seal, exchanged a glance, and saw no hesitation in each other's eyes.
Then, the miko Miroku created an opening in the seal and stepped inside first. Shiyu Uchiha followed closely behind her. As soon as the two entered, the seal closed shut once more.
