Naruto: Awakening Eternal Power with My Eye Techniques

Chapter 109: The Shinigami of the Uzumaki Clan

After witnessing Miroku's performance, Shiyu Uchiha was greatly surprised by her strength. Compared to the original character Zi Yuan, she was practically night and day—clearly a Kage-level warrior, skilled specifically in sealing techniques, with massive chakra reserves to back it up. Even he would have to be extremely cautious if facing her in battle. Naturally, her lack of actual combat experience should still be a critical weakness.

After completing the seal, Miroku once again invited Shiyu Uchiha, hoping he would enter the sealed area together with her. Upon hearing this, Shiyu immediately deduced that she must be hiding something based on what he already knew from the original storyline. At the same time, he sensed how much she cared about whether or not he would go.

So he turned down the offer, pretending it was because he wasn't strong enough, although his tone wasn't very firm—he just wanted to test her reaction.

In truth, he still wanted to go. After all, there was something inside that he desired. If the cost wasn't too great, there was no way he'd refuse. As for Miroku's secrecy, he didn't really care either; it would've been strange if she had told him everything. Shiyu only concerned himself with the cost versus the reward.

After Miroku heard Shiyu's rejection, she realized that her eagerness earlier had caused her to act improperly. She took a moment to steady herself, then resolved to come clean.

However, she wasn't in a hurry just yet. Using the late hour as an excuse, she first invited Shiyu Uchiha to join her for dinner at her camp, which he happily accepted while waiting to hear her explanation.

After the meal, upon Miroku's invitation, Shiyu followed her to a nearby location, where she began recounting the entire story. Actually, she hadn't intended to tell everything outright at first, but her prophetic abilities indicated that honesty was the best choice.

"Mr. Shiyu Uchiha," Miroku spoke slowly, a hint of helplessness in her voice, "the reason I want you to accompany me into the seal is because my prophetic abilities tell me only then can we resolve the problem we currently face." However, deep in her heart, she feared that revealing everything might frighten him away—it was well known that Chimei Wengliang (a collective term for evil spirits) was terrifying indeed, and Shiyu had barely survived an ambush not long ago.

Shiyu Uchiha frowned slightly, deep in thought as he considered Miroku's words. He knew very well that this woman wasn't some fraud; she genuinely possessed special powers. Her prophetic ability deserved at least partial trust.

Still, this matter seemed important only to her. He wasn't even from the Land of Demons. Were it not for seeking methods to open his spiritual space, he would've left long ago. This woman wasn't someone naive like Haru Hoshizora; rather, she reminded him of those so-called sacred dolls from ancient sects depicted in novels he used to read—always ready to trick you unknowingly. When making deals with such people, one needed to stay extra alert.

"But why exactly did you choose me? I don't think there's anything particularly special about myself," Shiyu asked deliberately feigning confusion.

Miroku sighed softly, once more realizing that Shiyu Uchiha wasn't the type to take action unless there was something in it for him. A flicker of concern passed across her eyes as she replied, "Because my prophecy revealed that you are the only one capable of helping me."

"Also, I can sense a powerful force within you. This power can assist me in retrieving something from him, and during this process, you will also obtain the strength you desire."

Shiyu Uchiha took a deep breath and remained silent for a moment. His gaze sharpened. Clearly, under this power of prophecy, he had been completely seen through—his weakness exposed. All pretenses and probes were meaningless now. At the same time, he found the priestess's final words particularly intriguing.

"Fine then. If that's the case, I can enter the seal with you. But I hope you'll tell me everything, no more secrets," Shiyu said firmly after a moment's thought. He needed to fully grasp the situation before making another decision. As long as the danger remained within acceptable limits, he would give it a try.

Miroku nodded gratefully; she finally exhaled in relief. Then, she began to explain everything about the seal and the prophecy...

An elder of the Uzumaki clan led his entire clan to the Land of Demons and became deeply intrigued by the land. They discovered its tranquil environment, unique terrain, and remote geographical position—basically free from war—making it an ideal location to settle down and develop. Thus, they decided to establish a permanent homeland here.

However, they also needed sufficient power to face potential challenges and ensure their safety. Furthermore, due to injuries, the elder's lifespan was nearing its end, leaving him no choice but to consider how to continue protecting his people and nation.

The Uzumaki possessed a formula for creating Shinigami. By gathering collective strength, they could generate controllable death gods to perform special techniques—in Shiyu Uchiha's view, this was akin to the Naraka Path of the Rinne Six Paths.

This branch of the Uzumaki clan excelled particularly in this technique. Yet after leaving the Uzumaki clan and without bringing along a Shinigami, once they settled in the Land of Demons, they wished to create their own death god. This was both a tradition of the Uzumaki clan and a means of protection.

After careful consideration, the elder decided to harness the Land of Demon's unique topographical power by conducting a mysterious ritual, transforming himself into a Shinigami and guarding his people forever.

During this process, to compensate for his lack of power, the elder utilized the notes of a master-level Yin-Yang practitioner and drew upon the concept of Tailed Beasts to improve the original formula for creating Shinigami, ultimately producing four secondary death gods.

Though not as powerful as a full-fledged Shinigami, these secondary death gods still possessed great strength. Most importantly, they possessed growth potential, enabling them to continuously evolve and strengthen over time.

According to the design of this elder of the Uzumaki clan, when Uzumaki individuals became Jinchuriki of the secondary death gods, the Yin Release chakra from the death god and the Yang Release chakra naturally present in the Uzumaki's body would combine with the aid of a sealing formula, giving rise to an immense power—Yin-Yang Release. This allowed Uzumaki jonin-level individuals to unleash strength rivaling ordinary Kage-class warriors.

The Yin-Yang Release not only allowed two complementary forces to grow together, but also held the potential—however slight—to reach the level of a true Kage. Additionally, the four secondary death gods could cooperate with each other, merging into a single, even more powerful entity.

Theoretically, when they reached their peak and joined forces, they might even be capable of sealing an opponent who had just attained the status of an S-Rank Kage.

He believed that, as time passed, his people would gradually master this power and apply it in actual combat, thereby better protecting their nation and kin.
