My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty

Chapter 866: The Choice of the Reincarnate Clan

Gu Simu firmly believed that Gu Lan had not fallen, but the constant rumors were difficult to ignore. She had asked Mu Yuyan about it several times, but each time Mu Yuyan only deflected her questions. This left Gu Simu with an overwhelming sense of uncertainty and worry.

"Young Lord!"

Ding True Man's voice brought Gu Simu back to the present. She blinked for a second and then, with a somber expression, asked, "Senior, what about my father...?"

Before she could finish, Ding True Man smiled and reassured her, "Young Lord, do not worry. Master's strength is unparalleled. How could he have fallen so easily?"

Although Ding True Man had heard some rumors from Mu Yuyan, he firmly believed that Gu Lan was still alive. However, he could not be certain of the details. He hoped for a surprise from Gu Lan but knew that it was beyond his control. His certainty came from Mu Yuyan's instructions—there were things that Gu Simu should not know.

Gu Simu nodded slightly, lost in thought for a moment. She was about to speak again, but Ding True Man interrupted her.

"Young Lord, let us head to Lanyan Royal School. With these individuals here, trouble may already be upon us."

Gu Simu didn't respond but instead descended from the sky. The two of them quickly made their way to the Royal School.

As they arrived, Gu Simu immediately noticed the Reincarnate Clan's powerful experts. They saw Gu Simu too, but their expressions were filled with disdain, and they didn't even bother to look directly at her. Gu Simu could understand their feelings—they had learned that Gu Lan had placed a soul imprint on them, and since then, their disdain for her had grown. However, Gu Simu no longer cared.

With an indifferent expression, she approached the Reincarnate Clan experts.

Ding True Man, who had control over their souls, was well aware of their capabilities, but Gu Simu had her own plans. Coldly, she spoke to the Reincarnate Clan leaders.

"I'll give you a chance. Help me overcome this crisis, and I will grant you your freedom."

Although the Reincarnate Clan experts had strong abilities, Gu Simu saw this as an opportunity to use them to her advantage. However, how they responded was entirely up to them. She hoped they wouldn't make a foolish decision, for the consequences of betrayal would be severe.

Reincarnate Clan Leader Changsheng's face darkened as he heard Gu Simu's words.

"Young Lord, are you making a deal with us?" Changsheng asked, his tone cold.

"The Reincarnate Clan will never follow your orders. Your life or death is of no concern to us."

Gu Simu had already anticipated his response. She looked at him coldly and raised her hand, releasing a flash of golden light.

"Then don't blame me."

As soon as the words left her mouth, the Reincarnate Clan experts felt a sharp pain in their souls. It wasn't a physical pain but a searing, soul-wrenching agony. Despite having cultivated for nearly a thousand years, they couldn't withstand it. One by one, they collapsed to their knees, their aura dimming rapidly.

Changsheng, though still trying to hold on, was struggling. His face grew increasingly grim.

"Understand this: I'm not negotiating with you," Gu Simu continued. "If you refuse to listen, I can send you to the afterlife right now."

Her words were not a joke. If Gu Simu wished, she could erase them in an instant. No matter how strong they were, they couldn't escape her soul imprint.

The pain intensified, and even Changsheng could no longer bear it. His face was ashen, and with great difficulty, he finally said, "We will listen to the Young Lord."

Although he said this, his tone was far from sincere. He knew that forcing them to submit wouldn't be easy, but Gu Simu wasn't concerned about that. What mattered to her now was having powerful allies. She needed them to act when the time came.

"From now on, keep an eye out for any movements from the Wizard Clan. If any of their experts approach, kill them without mercy."

With those final words, Gu Simu turned without waiting for a response. She had no interest in continuing this conversation.

The Reincarnate Clan experts did not give an immediate answer, and Gu Simu wasn't concerned. As she turned to leave, Ding True Man quickly followed.

The two made their way into the palace. Upon arrival, Gu Simu coldly spoke, "If they dare to defy us again, kill them."

Her voice was icy, laced with a terrifying killing intent.

Ding True Man, startled by the severity of her tone, hesitated for only a second before respectfully bowing to her.

"Do not worry, Young Lord. If they make any move, I will make them pay for it."

As Mu Yuyan had said, these individuals were trouble. They had to be controlled, and if they couldn't be controlled, then they would have to be eliminated.

……

In a secret place, Gu Lan had grown weary of waiting. Watching the energy enveloping Qing'er, he felt a sense of helplessness. Although he was anxious, he knew he couldn't interrupt.

"May I borrow your Great Path energy?"

Gu Lan was momentarily stunned but quickly summoned his Great Path energy, directing it toward Qing'er. The energy poured into her body in an instant.

As the energy entered her, Qing'er's face broke into a faint smile. But there was something in that smile—something sorrowful that caught Gu Lan off guard. He thought he had imagined it, but the feeling lingered.

Despite his curiosity, Gu Lan didn't overthink it. This was Great Path energy, and he had expected Qing'er to absorb it slowly. However, to his surprise, in just a few moments, all of the energy was gone.

Gu Lan stood in shock. He hadn't felt any significant change in Qing'er's aura, but she stood up slowly, as though she hadn't just absorbed a massive amount of energy.

"Miss, did you recover?" Gu Lan asked, confused.

Qing'er's expression remained calm. "I'm more than capable of handling Chaos."

With that, Qing'er stepped forward, and Gu Lan, though still puzzled, followed her.

"Let's keep moving," Gu Lan muttered to himself, quickening his pace.

What Gu Lan didn't know was that Qing'er had the opportunity to recover to her peak, but she chose not to. As her strength returned, her past memories resurfaced.

Soon, the two reached the outer barrier. As they gazed forward, their eyes flickered with cold light.

Gu Lan could already feel the danger before even approaching. The power of Chaos was terrifying. Gu Lan hesitated, not wanting to intrude, so he stepped aside as Qing'er unleashed her full power.

The space before them exploded with a deafening roar, shaking the heavens themselves.

Gu Lan couldn't help but frown. Qing'er's power was far beyond what he had expected.

"Such terrifying strength!" Gu Lan thought, still shaken by the sight of Qing'er's true potential.
