My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty

Chapter 862: Traitor in the Wizard Clan

After he killed the member of the Wizard Clan, he was already considered a traitor. Now, if Mo Xuan were to catch him, the only thing awaiting him would be death. Worse than death, An Ying could clearly see that.

Gu Lan had saved his life, and he couldn't let that debt go unpaid. He didn't want to die at the hands of his own people.

...

After a few moments, An Ying finally stopped and ensured no one was following him. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief. Without hesitation, he headed straight for the Jing Nation's Imperial Palace.

It was only after he had been gone for a while that Mo Xuan returned to the palace. His face still bore a cold smile, but as soon as he stepped into the palace, his expression darkened, and his eyes were filled with fury.

"Useless! You couldn't even handle such a trivial matter," Mo Xuan muttered angrily.

He had originally believed that the person he assigned would be able to keep an eye on An Ying, but he had let An Ying escape. Worse yet, Mo Xuan hadn't wanted to kill An Ying; he had thought that giving him a chance would make him retract his rebellious actions. But now, all he got was betrayal.

"You're asking for death. Don't blame me!"

As An Ying spoke, his energy began to surge. At that moment, four or five shadowy figures appeared in front of him. These individuals moved quickly and all kneeled.

"Greetings, Young Lord."

"An Ying is a traitor to our clan. Bring back his head to see me."

At these words, the group paused, but did not hesitate. They adjusted their energy and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

In the Jing Nation Imperial Palace, Mu Yuyan wore a worried expression. Her gaze involuntarily drifted to the Hongmeng Sword. The sword, as if sensing her attention, began to hum, releasing faint vibrations.

Mu Yuyan was startled by this unusual occurrence from the Hongmeng Sword. After she grasped it, she noticed it hadn't reacted like this in a long time.

Perplexed, she adjusted her own energy, trying to understand what was happening. Her thoughts were simple—since Gu Lan had fallen, it was only natural that his body would be brought back.

But this time, the Hongmeng Sword did not respond, and the golden glow on it had faded. Just as she was about to question this, a shadow suddenly appeared in the palace.

An Ying, his face serious, walked forward and stopped, respectfully bowing.

"You are the ruler of this Jing Nation Imperial Palace?"

"Who are you?" Mu Yuyan asked, sensing that An Ying did not seem to bear any hostility.

"I am An Ying from the Wizard Clan," he replied.

Upon hearing this, Mu Yuyan furrowed her brow. "Why are you here?"

As she spoke, her energy began to rise, aware that the Wizard Clan was not something she could ignore.

"Don't misunderstand. I'm not here to cause trouble. Master Gu saved my life."

Though Mu Yuyan remained wary, she didn't feel immediate danger. She had fought this man before, and had only escaped because he had held back his full strength.

"In half a month, the Wizard Clan will come here. Please prepare yourself," An Ying said, before turning to leave.

"Why are you telling me this?" Mu Yuyan asked as he began to walk away.

"I told you, Master Gu saved my life. I don't want to see you all destroyed by the Wizard Clan."

With a bitter smile, An Ying said his piece and vanished without another word.

He wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing, but now he had no choice. To the Wizard Clan, he was a traitor, and staying here would only cause trouble for everyone.

An Ying's speed was fast, but as he entered the skies above, four or five black shadows appeared around him.

He sensed their presence immediately, and before he could react, they were already in front of him, their energies unrestrained.

"Come with us, or don't blame us for being merciless!" they demanded.

As members of the Wizard Clan, they didn't want to kill him immediately, but it was clear that An Ying had once been Mo Xuan's confidant.

An Ying smiled faintly. "I appreciate your kindness, but if I go back with you, it's a dead end."

Fighting these men might give him a chance at survival, but going back with them would guarantee his death. His words made his position clear.

The Wizard Clan members didn't hesitate any longer. They unleashed their full strength.

"Since that's the case, don't blame us," one of them said as they all charged forward.

But An Ying was unconcerned. Their attacks weren't enough to threaten him. As they approached, he swiftly drew his blood-red blade.

The harsh sound of a blade cutting through the air filled the space, and a wave of blood-red light surged out, pushing the attackers back. None of them could even get close.

"How are you so strong?" one of them exclaimed, clearly stunned.

But An Ying didn't bother responding. He cast a cold glance at them before disappearing once again.

He wasn't going to waste any time fighting. If he engaged them, he might kill them, but he would also be severely injured.

An Ying's speed was unmatched, and soon, they could no longer sense his presence.

...

In the Ancient God Battlefield, although Gu Lan had no idea how much time had passed, he began to feel bored.

Just as he stood up, he noticed a layer of true energy emanating from Qing'er's body. The energy was dense and contained an overwhelming power.

Realizing the change, Gu Lan immediately got to his feet and quickly moved to Qing'er's side.

As he watched, Qing'er slowly opened her eyes.

Seeing this, Gu Lan smiled. After waiting for so long, the moment had finally arrived.

He didn't lose composure but respectfully stepped aside. Meanwhile, Qing'er had already risen to her feet.

She looked at Gu Lan with confusion in her eyes.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Gu Lan, and I have come with a request," he said respectfully.

Qing'er's eyes were filled with doubt. Just as she was still puzzled, the surrounding energy surged toward her.

As the energy entered her body, Qing'er's previously confused gaze began to sharpen.

At a loss for what to do, Gu Lan stood silently, but Qing'er spoke suddenly.

"I can't do it right now."

These words left Gu Lan stunned.

"Why?"

He couldn't understand. After such a long wait, he hadn't expected this answer.

"I understand what you want. I did have the strength to crush Chaos before, but now, I can't."

Gu Lan was at a loss for words after hearing Qing'er's explanation.

"Is there no way?" he asked, still unwilling to give up.

"Unless my strength is restored," she replied.

At that moment, hope sparked in Gu Lan's heart once again. He couldn't contain his excitement.

"What must I do?"

He had come this far, and he was not about to give up now. He didn't want to vanish without a trace.
