My Werewolf System

Chapter 1302: I'm Not A Leader (Part 2)

The Altered hunters had seen the strange red power being used by Blackjack during his fight. It had a type of energy that even Luzen wasn't so keen to be struck by.

Now, in the hands of Edvard, the power was gathering; they could tell it was far more powerful than what Blackjack could produce. Just watching, part of their insides felt tingly, an odd itch that was underneath their skin.

Then Edvard flung out his hand, and like a long stream, a cannon shot of blood aura had been unleashed. The array of the attack was wide, making it so it was covering nearly the entire area where Luzen was; there was nowhere for him to run.

The aura blast from Edvard had come to an end, and as it descended, Luzen was seen standing there. Part of his flesh was hurt; his muscle structure could be seen underneath.

"It seems…I have underestimated the power of the vampires…but the situation can only go up from here!" Luzen jumped back; even in the state his skin was in, he landed in the trees, and then quickly went descending far off into the garden.

"You're not going to give chase?" Roland asked.

"No," Edvard said. "A chase would be pointless, I can tell he's a tricky one; even for me, he would be hard to catch. It's the stupid ones that think they can still win that are the easy ones. One like that, one who knows he's lost a fight…are hard to deal with."

It was annoying for Edvard; he wished he could have ended the fight there and then. To finish off a future enemy, but it appeared he wouldn't get the chance.

A moment of peace had hit the Altered team at that moment. A sigh of relief. Doing the job they did, they thought that they had got used to the feeling of close calls.

But as they survived more and more jobs, gathered more and more stars, that feeling started to fade, until today. When they were faced with an enemy they thought was impossible to beat.

Edvard and Roland walked over to the others to check if they were alright, while Edvard walked over to Blackjack and handed him a flask.

"It won't have the same effect for a while," Edvard said. "But it will speed up the process; you will be okay. I think in your condition, it's best you head back though."

"No sir," Blackjack answered. "We can't…the fact that you are here, you must have gotten the message right?"

Roland was checking up on the hunters; he knew they were the backup that was meant to arrive, at least some of them, but he wondered why there were so few of them.

"Have you had contact from any of the other groups?" Roland asked.

"No…Cooper had only set up the communication device a while ago. That Ironfang must have damaged it, so I don't think anyone can get in contact with each other."

"It's as we feared," Edvard said. "Just like here, all of the Ironfangs have moved into the Gardens. The backup teams are going to struggle. What about the items, where are they?"

"The items?" One of the hunters said. "We left them outside, with the others. We were just meant to scout the area and it ended up like this."

"Who had come in with you?" Roland asked.

"It was Pluto," the hunter answered.

Roland clicked his tongue.

"Damn it, he was a strong one to have. That Ironfang must have made a number on him," Roland commented. "Maybe it's better if we just get the supplies and start to make our way to one of the other Gardens."

"No, no!" Joy said. "The whole reason why we stayed in here, why we hadn't gone outside is because we saw it…we saw Lupus is here, he's here right now."

The two had thought Lupus would be here; they rushed to get here as quick as they could, but seeing how the Ironfang was inside along with other hunters, they were hoping that wasn't the result.

"I hate to say it, but if Lupus was here, then all of the hunters will be dead outside," Roland said. "We came a little too late. Still, we should get what supplies we need and move to the other Gardens before Lupus makes his way to them as well."

The main issue was Edvard had no clue which supply had the armor he needed. Meeting Lupus before he had the armor was not going to be a good idea for anyone, even if he was an original vampire.

"We can check the cameras," Joy said. "Cooper had gone in there before and had hacked into the place; that's how we were able to see that Lupus was out there.

"We can check if the supplies are still there, if there are fighting, or if Lupus is even still outside. He might still be scouting out the area."

Edvard agreed and thought it was a good plan, so with Edvard carrying Blackjack on his shoulder and Roland carrying Lou, they all went to the camera room.

It was easy with no one chasing them or getting in their way; the good thing was it was relatively close to the entrance as well. Heading into the security room, they could see a number of cameras that showed all of the areas.

All of their eyes were glued to the screen, and Joy was the first to spot something on the small square.

"They're right there, number four!" Joy shouted out and looked down; she pressed the corresponding labeled number, and screen four was enlarged.

"There's someone still out there," Edvard said. "There's someone out there still fighting against Lupus."
