Chapter 265: Black Hole!
"Ahhh…"
A cry of pain escaped Zarek as his eyes widened to the limits. He was truly using every ounce of strength he had to push himself further. Divine energy surged through his body, circulating rapidly and enhancing his power.
Thankfully, his adaptation had begun to take effect, his skin was quickly growing tougher, resisting the immense pull of the black hole behind him.
"Time Revert."
"Time Revert."
"Time Revert."
He activated the skill repeatedly, desperately hoping it would be enough to pull him out of the black hole's range. But Zarek knew the terrifying truth: the more mass a black hole devours, the larger it becomes and more powerful the pull becomes.
His only hope was to outrun it.
"But if it expands to engulf the entire planet… then what's the point?" Zarek mumbled, calculating in his heart amidst the panic. He couldn't afford to lose himself to fear, panic would lead him nowhere. If he wanted to survive this terrifying black hole, he had to think logically.
"Surely, they don't intend for the entire planet to be destroyed, right?"
Even if someone did, the Human God or the Dragon God would likely intervene. With a disturbance of this scale, their attention would almost certainly be drawn.
For now, Zarek's best bet was to endure with everything he had and hope that one of the gods acted swiftly.
Of course, it wasn't an optimal solution. But right now, it was the only one he had.
Zarek doubted a Telekinetic Paragon was enough to handle the situation, especially since his power should already be close to that level.
The only one left might be that old man in the library, the Supreme Dragon Emperor but he was Zarek, not Dryaken. Even if he appeared, he would attack him instead of helping him.
So that was entirely stupid.
All in all, Zarek could only come to one conclusion after thinking through all of his conundrum:
He could only rely on himself!
Gritting his teeth, with hatred shimmering in his eyes, Zarek pushed his body further. If his body completely broke down from the attraction force, he would directly turn back time and adapt to it.
This loop happened again and again, but luckily, since he had adapted to the pull force of the Black Hole, now it wasn't as terrifying. But Zarek also realized something else!
The power of Time he used to turn back the state of his body wasn't for unlimited use, he could feel a strange exhaustion creeping up in his mind.
This exhausted feeling wasn't from his body; it was just there, a strange feeling. It was as if something was stopping him from using it, and using "Time Revert" and "Time Save" was only increasing these headaches and making it very difficult to even activate it.
"Damn it."
A minute had already passed, but for Zarek, it felt like an eternity had gone by.
His body was drenched in cold sweat as he pushed himself to the limit—again and again. Each time, he broke past his boundary, only to set a new one, and then shatter that too.
By now, the black hole had grown to nearly the size of a small basketball stadium, and the terrifying pull it exerted was beyond words.
Still, Zarek pushed further, trying to surpass even that.
Then, suddenly, he paused.
His Telekinesis froze mid-air, and he stopped circulating the Divine Energy altogether.
Strangely, even without resisting, there was no pulling force anymore. The soil beneath his feet remained undisturbed.
Zarek turned his head, a flicker crossing his boundless blue pupils.
The black hole had vanished completely, leaving behind only its ruins.
If not for the abyss-like holes stretching endlessly downward and the trees that had completely vanished, Zarek might have thought the black hole had been nothing but an illusion.
With a thud, he collapsed onto the ground, landing on his butt. Gasping for breath, excitement flickered in his eyes as he panted rapidly.
"I... I did it."
His body trembled uncontrollably.
Even though there was no logic or science behind why the black hole had suddenly vanished or how it could appear in the first place, a deep sense of accomplishment still welled up in Zarek's heart.
Black Hole.
A terrifying phenomenon. The devourer of all. A singularity so dense that even light, the fastest entity in the universe, could not escape its grasp.
A celestial monstrosity, born from the dying breath of a collapsing star.
Its pull was absolute. Uncontested and Terrifying. But fortunately, it lasted only a minute.
Because if Zarek had been devoured by it, he wasn't sure he could have survived, even with the ability to revert his body through time.
After all, a black hole devoured time too and that means it was already exhausted.
After calming down his nerves, he slowly stood up from the ground.
"So this was the thing my instinct was warning me about…"
Zarek mumbled. The stronger one becomes, the more powerful their instincts are. Even for a normal human, some have relied entirely on their instinct and have saved their lives.
As he was a strong man who should be able to contest against a Telekinetic Grandmaster, especially with his body and activeness, Zarek's instincts were naturally several times stronger.
Of course, these only worked because the monster that had a black hole that could harm him was considerably weaker than him and also due to the fact that the monster seemed confident and didn't hide its intent.
There were a lot of factors that came into play, and instinct wasn't something that could be relied upon every time.
Zarek's gaze fell on the temple. Even though all its walls were destroyed, amidst the destruction caused by the terrifying power of the black hole, it still stood tall and strong. The ground beneath it hadn't caved in either.
"The darkness is still there." His brows knitted together. In the end, was there no choice but for him to enter that darkness?
While Zarek was contemplating, in the darkness, the Mythos priest was in a panic.
