My Sign-in System in Naruto

Chapter 76: Chapter 74: Conflict

In Shi's eyes, Haru didn't understand the true value of the Asauchi. To him, leaving such a katana in Haru's hands was nothing but a waste.

It would be far better for him to purchase it and hand it over to Killer Bee.

Whether it was swordsmanship or anything else, few in the shinobi world could compare to Killer Bee.

Haru looked at the money pouch in Shi's hand and found the situation amusing.

In truth, it wasn't that Haru didn't understand the Asauchi he understood it all too well.

Although the Asauchi was known as a Zanpakutō with infinite potential, it had yet to awaken into its true form.

In the Soul Society, Asauchi were far from rare.

Moreover, even after awakening into a Zanpakutō, the strength of each one could vary drastically.

On top of that, the check-in system would continue to issue tasks and provide rewards.

This Asauchi wasn't something Haru considered a priceless treasure.

In reality, the value of an item was entirely subjective.

At least in Haru's eyes, this was simply a weapon with potential worth looking forward to.

However, it was still his possession.

No matter how much money Shi offered, Haru had no intention of parting with it.

"You seem to have misunderstood something," Haru said, shaking his head. "I have no intention of selling this Asauchi."

"Is that so?" Shi nodded, not particularly surprised by this response. "Even if this weapon could bring you great danger?"

"Hmm?"

Shi smiled faintly and then walked over to the blacksmith, Ikkaku, offering him a polite smile.

Ikkaku glanced at Haru, and seeing that the owner of the Asauchi didn't object, he handed the weapon over to Shi.

Shi then began to explain the exceptional qualities of the Asauchi, based on his own understanding.

"Whether you're a ninja or a samurai, anyone can see the extraordinary nature of this katana at a glance. Yet, you carry it openly on your waist, walking around without a care in the world."

Shi shook his head helplessly. "If it weren't for us, you might already be dead."

"Especially the ninjas from Kirigakure. You'd better pray you never run into them."

Shi paused. "So, how about it? Hand over this trouble to us. You'll get a hefty sum of money, enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life."

"Or perhaps, you could come to our village."

Yugito suddenly interjected, extending an invitation to Haru.

Although Yugito in Shippuden always maintained a queenly aura, she was, at her core, a kind and gentle person.

If Haru truly couldn't bear to part with the katana, he could come live in Kumogakure.

At the very least, she could offer him some form of protection.

However, Haru ignored Yugito's invitation and turned to Ikkaku instead. "How long will it take to make a sheath? I don't plan to stay in the Land of Iron for long."

"Well…" Ikkaku hesitated. He had never seen such a perfect katana before, and crafting a sheath worthy of it wouldn't be an easy task.

From selecting the materials to completing the sheath, it could take a considerable amount of time.

"If possible, please stay here for a while," Ikkaku said, bowing deeply to Haru. "Don't worry about accommodation costs. I'll take care of them."

Seeing Ikkaku's earnestness, Haru quite liked his attitude.

However, Haru didn't have much time to spare.

The meeting with the Raikage was scheduled for tomorrow.

"If that's the case, then forget it," Haru said, shaking his head and declining Ikkaku's offer to craft the sheath.

At these words, Ikkaku felt as if his mind had gone blank.

In fact, it wasn't just him. Every blacksmith gathered there felt a deep sense of regret.

However, Haru's next move left them even more stunned.

Haru stepped into the blacksmith shop, glanced around at the sheaths on display, compared their length to his Asauchi, and casually picked one out.

He then returned to Shi and held out his hand.

Shi looked at the sheath in Haru's hand, his brow furrowing.

But no matter what, he was a ninja from Kumogakure, so he had no choice but to return the Asauchi.

Haru took the Asauchi and, without any further ado, slid it into the sheath, giving it a quick test.

"Not bad. This'll do," Haru said nonchalantly.

Meanwhile, Ikkaku, his apprentices, Shi, and Yugito were left utterly speechless.

To them, there was no one more brutish than Haru.

This was nothing short of an insult to the Asauchi.

However, before Shi could scold Haru for his actions, another group suddenly surrounded them.

Even Ikkaku's expression turned grim.

These were no ordinary people they were rōnin, wandering samurai who would work for anyone willing to pay.

This was a unique aspect of the culture in the Land of Iron.

"Kid," the leader of the rōnin said, reaching out toward Haru while the others quickly encircled him.

"I knew it," Shi sighed, as if he had anticipated this outcome.

A seemingly defenseless teenager carrying such a katana was bound to attract trouble.

"What do you think you're doing?"

However, at that moment, Yugito stepped forward, shielding Haru behind her and staring down the leader of the rōnin.

Even if Haru refused to sell the katana, that didn't give these men the right to take it by force.

"A ninja," the leader of the rōnin quickly recognized Yugito's forehead protector but didn't seem intimidated.

"You should know that the Land of Iron is a neutral nation. No ninja is allowed to take action here. That's basic knowledge for all shinobi."

With that, the leader gestured to his men, signaling them to seize the katana from Haru.

Moreover, he had heard rumors that the Raikage and Hokage were coming to the Land of Iron for talks.

If Yugito were to act here, it would only complicate matters for Kumogakure.

After all, Haru wasn't from Kumogakure. This was a dispute within the Land of Iron.

Most importantly, these samurai had an innate sense of pride and didn't think much of ninjas.

"Hmph."

Seeing the rōnin's unreasonable behavior, Yugito decided to act. She grabbed the wrist of the man trying to take Haru's katana, channeled chakra into her grip, and crushed his bones.

"Ah!"

The man screamed in pain, only to feel a powerful force strike his abdomen, sending him flying into Ikkaku's shop.

Shi massaged his temples, unable to hold back a complaint. "Yugito, you've caused trouble again."

"But…"

Shi drew the sword from his back, shielding Haru from another angle. "See? This is what I meant. Carrying a katana like this around will only bring you danger."
