My Sign-in System in Naruto

Chapter 75: Chapter 73: Shi and Yugito

"Of course," Haru said, drawing the Asauchi from his waist and casually handing it over.

However, what he didn't expect was the blacksmith's extremely respectful demeanor. The man carefully took the Asauchi with both hands, treating it as if it were a priceless treasure.

The blacksmith gingerly gripped the hilt, his eyes drawn to the silver-white blade. His fingers twitched as if eager to touch it, but he hesitated, afraid to make direct contact.

"I need a sheath," Haru stated directly, getting straight to the point.

But this statement once again shocked the blacksmith.

"A... sheath?" The blacksmith gasped, wondering if he had misheard.

At this moment, the blacksmith's apprentices began to gather around. They had never seen their master treat a weapon with such reverence.

To put it bluntly, even the famous swords carried by renowned samurai rarely earned more than a passing glance from their master.

Soon, the apprentices were also captivated by the weapon in front of them. Everyone present sucked in a sharp breath, rubbing their eyes in disbelief.

It was only then that Haru realized something.

Although his Zanpakutō was still in its Asauchi form, it had been forged by Ōetsu Nimaiya, the master of the Phoenix Palace and the only being in the Soul Society revered as the "God of the Sword."

A weapon crafted by his hands naturally surpassed the limits of human craftsmanship.

Thinking this, Haru finally understood the reactions of those around him.

"Are you sure?" The blacksmith's voice trembled with excitement. "Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ikkaku, the chief blacksmith of the Land of Iron. Even General Mifune's katana was forged by my hands."

"Mifune?" Haru murmured.

The name was far from unfamiliar to him.

In fact, General Mifune was the leader of the Land of Iron's samurai forces, holding a position equivalent to that of a Kage in other major nations.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, he had even defeated Hanzo of the Salamander, proving that he was no slouch in terms of strength.

What Haru hadn't expected was that the blacksmith shop he had randomly chosen belonged to the chief blacksmith.

No... Haru shook his head. Actually, it made sense.

The Kage Summit was scheduled for tomorrow. Although Haru himself wasn't well-known in the shinobi world, Sarutobi Hiruzen was the "Shinobi God."

(PS : I've changed it because it makes more sense than "Shinobi Monarch.")

A figure of such stature would naturally be treated with the utmost respect, even by Mifune.

The place where Rikaku had taken them to rest was undoubtedly the best inn in the Land of Iron.

It wasn't surprising, then, that the chief blacksmith would live in this area.

"Of course. I came here to get a sheath made. It's not very convenient to carry it around like this," Haru said, glancing at the various swords hanging in the blacksmith shop. "If you have something ready-made, that would be even better."

"Ready-made?" Ikkaku was taken aback. He followed Haru's gaze to the wall, where a collection of subpar blades hung, and was momentarily speechless.

Was this guy serious?

A sheath was to a sword what clothing was to a person.

Not only did it serve a protective function, but it also reflected the owner's status, taste, and more.

Although Ikkaku was reluctant to admit it, the shoddy sheaths hanging on the wall were far from worthy of this katana.

Using one of them would only tarnish its perfection.

However, it didn't take long for Ikkaku to realize what was really going on.

Judging by Haru's attire, he clearly wasn't from the Land of Iron but rather a traveler passing through.

If he truly knew nothing about swords, he wouldn't have come into possession of such an extraordinary weapon.

This was a test a challenge.

Haru was testing whether Ikkaku was worthy of crafting a sheath for this weapon.

"With all due respect, an ordinary sheath would be unworthy of such a magnificent katana," Ikkaku said, carefully choosing his words to deliver the most perfect response.

However, another voice suddenly interrupted their conversation.

Haru turned to see a familiar face.

A shinobi from Kumogakure Shi and...

One of their village's Jinchūriki, Yugito Nii.

Of course, the two standing before Haru were younger than he remembered, especially Yugito.

At this point in time, she lacked the queenly aura she would later develop, instead exuding a more innocent charm.

The one who had spoken was Shi, with his short yellow hair and slightly youthful face.

'If I remember correctly, Shi should only be in his teens right now,' Haru thought to himself. He had assumed that the Raikage would be accompanied by shinobi he didn't recognize.

But upon reflection, it wasn't that unusual. In the world of Naruto, many shinobi were already making a name for themselves in their teens.

Kakashi had become a Jonin at eleven, and Itachi Uchiha had slaughtered his entire clan at thirteen.

Gaara had even become the Kazekage at around Shi's age.

What felt off to Haru was that Shi wasn't accompanied by Darui but by Yugito.

After all, the Fourth Raikage had once stated that Shi and Darui were his right-hand men.

Or perhaps Darui was currently with the Raikage?

"You're absolutely right," Ikkaku nodded, agreeing with Shi's statement. "Please believe me. I will craft a sheath worthy of this weapon!"

With that, Ikkaku bowed deeply to Haru, maintaining the posture as if seeking his approval.

Not only that, but his apprentices also followed suit, bowing in unison and pleading with Haru in even louder voices.

Haru observed the scene before him. Although he couldn't fully understand Ikkaku's feelings, he felt that the man was trustworthy.

"How much will it cost?" Haru asked directly. After all, it was only natural to pay for a service rendered.

However, upon hearing this, Ikkaku shot upright, his eyes wide with disbelief.

In his eyes, the mere opportunity to craft a sheath for this weapon was an unparalleled honor. How could he possibly accept payment?

"No, no, no..." Ikkaku shook his head vigorously, firmly rejecting the idea. "It is already an honor to craft a sheath for this katana."

Meanwhile, Shi looked at Haru with a puzzled expression.

In his eyes, Haru seemed to lack basic knowledge about swords.

Moreover, his behavior was strange. At such a young age, walking around with such a weapon didn't he fear that someone might covet it and harbor ill intentions?

"Young man," Shi stepped forward without hesitation. "Would you be willing to sell this sword to us?"

Haru: "???"

"Name your price," Shi said, pulling out a money pouch as if he were determined to acquire the Asauchi at any cost.
