Chapter 305: Ferris ride
Finally, the man in the distance could be seen. He walked up to their table with a frown, looked at Lucian, and then fixed his gaze on Diana.
"Miss, that is not how you should treat a gift. After I saw you from there, I instantly fell for you. That's why I wanted to talk to you." He glanced at Lucian and added:
"Is this your partner? I thought he was your son. Based on your ages, he doesn't look like your boyfriend or husband. Don't tell me you're into younger boys? You two could never be together. Haha, don't I fit you better? I'm rich, handsome, and our age difference isn't that big," the man said, looking very proud.
But his words had enraged Diana so much that she wanted to murder him instantly. She stood up abruptly, picked a glass from the table, and smashed it into the man's head, as blood splattered immediately and a painful scream rang out.
She could tolerate a few comments, but how could she not get angry when he said such things about her relationship with Lucian? She was trying her best, and this random pig was cursing their bond.
"You pig, rich? Handsome? You can't compare in anything with him. Do you want to die?"
The more she thought, the angrier she became. She picked up a fork and was about to stab the man, but Lucian held her hand and stopped her.
The man in the white suit was so scared that he hastily moved back. He held his head as his white suit soon filled with red.
"Hey, don't get so angry. You shouldn't care about what others say. Let me take care of it." Lucian took the fork and put it away. He gently caressed her cheek and looked into her eyes.
Only then did Diana calm down a little. She turned her face away and folded her arms in front of her chest, cursing that man constantly in her mind.
Lucian walked away from her and approached the injured man, who seemed as if he was about to start complaining. Lucian held his arm and pulled him away from the crowd.
"What the hell, man? I was just supposed to say a few sentences—ughh, my head is spinning. I'm going to charge extra for this injury. Damnit, what kind of wild woman are you trying to tame? She almost killed me," the man immediately began to complain.
Lucian pulled a thick stack of notes and stuffed it into the other person's hands, and asked, "Now shut it and get lost."
The man gulped heavily and nodded, then scurried away, forgetting all about his injuries. He didn't expect to get so much money for a simple task—a task so simple that he might have really lost his life…
Lucian walked back towards the table. This was a small play he had set up. Echo had contacted that man, who was good at acting, and gave him a script. There were a few reasons behind it.
First, to make her more anxious—now she would try even harder to get close to him. Second, to give her a second reality check and make her remember the differences between them. Well, those were the main reasons. Aside from that, it really stimulated her emotions greatly.
As Lucian returned, she stood up and asked, "Did he leave? Did he ask for some kind of compensation or something? Sorry, I got a bit too angry just now—"
Lucian placed a finger over her soft red lips and silenced her. Then he spoke with a gentle smile that made her heart flutter: "I took care of it, so don't worry."
'Is this how it feels when someone takes care of you?' Diana muttered in her heart, feeling a warmth spreading across her body. She really loved and enjoyed every moment she spent with him to the point that she was even willing to ignore the matters of her company for the time being.
"At least let me pay the bill," she said. Diana knew that he didn't lack money, but she still wanted to do something for him— anything.
"Maybe you can do that next time. Let me pay for now." Lucian paid the bill while Diana, who was still sitting on her chair, stared at him with a dreamy look in her eyes.
'So there will be a next time?!!' She only heard that part of his words and was instantly overjoyed, which meant that so far, he was starting to accept her. If nothing went wrong, then she could really start an intimate relationship with him.
She tore her eyes away from him and glanced around. Most of the women present there kept glancing at him— he looked so dazzling. Diana felt a strange kind of pride since this was her future man. He would belong to no one else but her alone.
But she also wanted to kick all those women's faces away and not let them stare at her property like hungry wolves. For now, she just held back— Diana didn't want to appear as someone who constantly fights with others.
Even though she wanted to announce to everyone that this was her man, and all women should keep their gazes to themselves, in the end she released a frustrated sigh.
"Let's go." Lucian extended his hand towards her and helped his mother stand up. He looked at her with gentle eyes and a faint smile.
"Where are we going next?" Diana asked, feeling a bit bashful under his gaze. In such a short period of time with him, she had experienced countless new emotions.
…
After some time…
"An amusement park?" Diana stared at their next destination. She could barely remember going to such a place. In the past, she might have gone there as a kid once or twice.
For her, that place was childish and meaningless. But the idea of going onto different rides with him while holding his hand seemed so much better—she was instantly excited.
And so the two walked inside together, hand in hand, looking like a couple, though the age difference still made one doubt that.
The pair of mother and son tried various kinds of rides. Diana felt a bit scared at times since she was afraid of heights, but she was able to hold on as she held Lucian's hand— that alone gave her a perfect feeling of security.
On the other hand, this was nothing for Lucian. None of the rides were enough to scare him one bit, still, he enjoyed his first time in an amusement park.
'How comical, I didn't come to this place with my mother when I was a kid, but now we are here because of a different relation. If she were to find out now, I wonder how intense her reaction would be… heh, but not yet, just a bit more.' Lucian thought. After a round in the roller coaster, they were next headed to the largest Ferris wheel.
"I have never ridden such a large Ferris wheel. To be honest, I feel a bit scared and anxious. What about you? Have you ever ridden such a scary thing?" Diana asked as she tightly held his arm. Hugging it, she enjoyed staying close to him because of her fear.
