My Hitman System

Chapter 163: Next Morning (E)

Ice stared at Jin's back as he made his way to his shelter. Loads of questions were flooding her mind, but she knew that she wouldn't be getting answers to any of them.

She soon shifted her attention to the red-haired youth's corpse, which was resting over her and pushed it aside.

She dragged him out of the shelter and dropped him around a few hundred meters away from their site before returning.

She washed herself off in the pond nearby, and by the time she returned, the sun was completely set, and individual fires were lit in the other three shelters.

She took the small branches the youth had gathered previously and, with the help of a lighter, started a fire.

After warming up some leftover snacks, she just rested on her back and stared at the flames.

The twitching of the branches as they got engulfed by the flame gave her a sense of comfort in this place as her thoughts wandered and she soon fell asleep.

Thud!

A few hours later, she was suddenly woken up by a loud sound.

The flames had extinguished by now, but the light from the embers allowed her to see a person's figure.

She immediately reached for her knife but stopped when she heard a familiar sound, which was followed by a hissing sound.

"Oh, you woke up," Jin said in an unamused manner as he smashed the snake's head with a branch once more.

"What are you doing in my shelter?" She asked with a furrowed expression when she realised the person in front of her was Jin.

"Just chasing this bastard," Jin raised the dead snake and showed it to her and continued, "It entered my shelter and then escaped when I tried to catch it."

Not bothering with her any longer, Jin cut off the snake's head and buried it.

"What are you going to do with it?" Ice asked, still not believing him fully.

"It's tomorrow's breakfast. Don't worry, since I caught it at your place, I'll give you a share as well," Jin chuckled as he grabbed the snake's body and walked back towards his shelter.

"He's very difficult to read," Ice muttered to herself before forcing herself to sleep.

Tomorrow was going to be another exhausting day, and she needed all the rest she could get.

While returning to his shelter, Jin glanced at his Mission window, and a smirk appeared on his face.

'It's a bit slow, but I got this,' He thought to himself. He had not expected that a random snake would help him progress in his mission, and was in quite a good mood as he prepared to sleep.

The next morning, all three of the assassins were woken up by a mouth-watering aroma.

When they traced the source with their noses they realised that the smell was coming from Jin's shelter.

Jin, outside his shelter, was cooking a snake which was coiled over a branch.

Gulping sounds were made in unison by everyone but Jin didn't give a damn. He just kept rotating the branch over the fire and allowed the snake's meat to be fully cooked.

'It's a good thing that the 'A' grade skydiving knowledge also contained several survival information,' Jin happily mused to himself.

The snake was finally cooked. He broke the branch into two and walked towards a shelter under the yearning gazes of Shadow and the spectacled guy.

When they realised that he was going towards Ice's shelter, they could only click their tongues in annoyance and take out whatever little remained of yesterday's snacks to fill their stomach.

"Here," Jin passed the snake to Ice and said, "As promised, a grilled snake just for you."

After saying that, Jin took a huge bite of the snake in his hand and relished the taste.

Seeing this, Ice hesitantly accepted the snake as her stomach was on the verge of growling and thanked Jin, "Thank you."

Although her expression didn't change much but Jin could see her trust in him jumping from 2% to 5% the very next moment.

"You're welcome," With a satisfied grin, he replied to her and went back to his shelter.

A while later, everyone busied themselves with freshening up and soon assembled in front of the mud-hut.

They could see that Brown was not in his home as his SUV was not there.

They continued to wait, and fifteen minutes later, a white SUV made its way towards the Oasis while leaving a long trail of sand behind it.

"Sorry for the delay," Brown got out of the SUV and said, "Oh? There's one less here. What happened?"

"Everyone's gaze turned towards Jin, who soon opened his mouth, "I killed him."

Hearing Jin's words, Brown didn't show any reaction at all. He acted as if it was an everyday occurrence and said, "Is that so? That means there's one less mouth to feed, how lovely,"

Brown then clapped his hands to attract everyone's attention.

"Alright, so let's start with your first training," Brown said with excitement.

Seeing this, the spectacled guy raised his hand.

"Yes? What was your code name again?" Brown asked with a furrowed expression.

"It's Specy, sir," The spectacled guy replied.

"Right. So, Specy, what's your doubt?" Brown asked.

"What about our breakfast? You said that our food will come today morning," Specy reminded.

"I never said anything about breakfast. I said that your meals will arrive today morning. See that SUV over there?" Brown pointed his thumb towards his SUV parked behind him, "It's your meal in there. It will get ready by afternoon, so until then, you'll be training. Any other questions?"

Brown asked, but seeing that no one raised their arms, he continued, "Alright, follow me inside."

With that, he turned around and entered his hut. Everyone exchanged a gaze with each other, and soon followed after him.

"Zed and Specy, move that carpet aside," Brown pointed his hand towards the carpet that was lying in the centre of the room.

'A secret passage,' Everyone thought to themselves.

An iron door was soon revealed. The two of them opened it outwards and rested it on the other side of the floor.

The steps leading them down were soon revealed.

"Let's go then," Brown took the lead and started going down. Zed and Specy went next, and Ice and Shadow followed thereafter.
