Chapter 237: Chapter 236: Murderous Intent!
It had to be said, Snatch had indeed undergone significant changes since meeting Kaminari. His understanding and use of his Quirk had become far more versatile.
Kaminari often remarked how naïve people in this world were when it came to developing their Quirks. Most focused solely on raising the power of their abilities, while ignoring the potential for versatility.
While this approach often produced individuals with astonishing peak strength, it limited the overall balance and utility of Quirk usage in combat. After all, relying purely on overwhelming force was only effective when one reached an extreme level of mastery.
Snatch's move, "Sand Clone," was a perfect example of the change in philosophy. Instantly, the tide of battle shifted as the twelve fearless sand figures created chaos among the Black Tiger Gang.
Although controlling so many clones reduced Snatch's own speed and strength, the sand figures were highly effective. They could transform their entire bodies into sand and recover from almost any damage in mere moments.
No one understood this better than Black Cannon, who was continuously firing explosive shells from his hands. Each time he tried to target Snatch directly, a sand clone would throw itself in the way, absorbing the blast.
"Damn crows flying around!"
Meanwhile, Nicholas Fu abandoned his attempts to break the sand shield. Glaring at Snatch, he leapt toward him, convinced that taking him down would make the sand constructs collapse.
"As long as I knock you out, the sand will be useless, right?!"
"Monkey Steals the Peach!"
Fu smashed through an incoming sandball with one punch, then turned his fist into clawed hands and lunged directly at Snatch's lower body.
"Shameless!"
Snatch's expression darkened with rage as he retaliated with a fierce kick.
Nicholas Fu's face twisted with a smug grin as his legs transformed into powerful springs. He disappeared from Snatch's view in an instant, reappearing to his right a split second later.
"Boom!"
Nicholas Fu's spring-boosted kick struck Snatch's thigh, sending him flying backward. He crashed onto the cold, hard pavement, rolling several times before coming to a stop.
"Urgh…"
With Snatch's defeat, the sand clones disintegrated into piles of lifeless grains, and the sand shield protecting Kaminari's father collapsed into the ground.
"Hahahaha! Mr. Kaminari, would you kindly come with us now?" Nicholas Fu sneered, walking up to Kaminari's father, who met him with a cold, unyielding glare.
Without hesitation, Fu grabbed Kaminari's father by the neck, knowing he needed to act quickly, Heroes and police were surely on their way.
---
"Zzzzt!"
Suddenly, the sharp crackle of electricity echoed through the air, followed by an angry roar.
"You wanna die?!"
Nicholas Fu's expression changed drastically. His instincts, honed from years of fighting, screamed danger. Without hesitation, he activated his Quirk, turning his legs into springs and launching himself out of harm's way.
"Boom!"
A blinding golden light struck the ground where Fu had stood less than a second earlier, creating a crater in the concrete.
---
"Son?!"
Kaminari's father looked up in shock to see Kaminari Denki descending from the sky. His body was radiating golden electricity, his blond hair spiked upward as if charged by pure energy.
"Dad, wait here. I'll deal with this trash first," Kaminari said softly, his tone cold. Then, his eyes locked onto Nicholas Fu, filled with unrestrained murderous intent.
"Hmph. Not bad," Fu muttered, recognizing the threat before him. "Looks like I'm facing a tougher opponent this time. But… you're going to die today, brat."
Kaminari ignored Fu's words entirely. Instead, he raised his voice and called out, "'Pikachu!'"
---
In the dark sky above, Pikachu, perched atop the Lightning Bird, responded with a sharp cry. It then hurled four golden Poké Balls into the air.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
In an instant, 400 kilograms of golden sand materialized, expanding rapidly into a massive dome. Within seconds, the dome sealed the area in a 100-meter radius, trapping Nicholas Fu and the Black Tiger Gang.
The gang members froze, their mouths hanging open in shock.
"Boom!"
One of the villains fired a shot at the golden barrier, but when the smoke cleared, the surface was unscathed.
Although Kaminari referred to the material as "sand," it was far from ordinary. It was a nano-scale alloy with extreme hardness, one of the strongest materials he had access to.
"Don't bother trying," Kaminari said as he walked toward them, his body still crackling with golden electricity. "There's only one way out of here: kill me."
His calm tone carried an unmistakable menace. "And just so you know, no one from outside will be able to enter this space, not even Pro Heroes."
Nicholas Fu's brow furrowed. He wasn't particularly concerned about Kaminari's strength, but even if they managed to kill him, they'd still be surrounded by police and Heroes once they left.
Their mission had already failed. Worse, there was a chance they wouldn't escape at all.
"Wait… if we can capture these three as hostages, we might still have a chance to get out of this mess!"
Fu's eyes gleamed with malice as he considered his options. However, his train of thought was interrupted by Snatch, who was struggling to stand despite the searing pain in his thigh.
"Kaminari, you can't kill them!" Snatch shouted through gritted teeth. "Use your battle suit! Restrain them with the golden sand!"
Despite his injuries, Snatch was doing everything he could to prevent the situation from spiraling further out of control. Nicholas Fu's earlier kick had fractured the bones in his leg, but he still forced himself to rise.
---
"Oh?" Fu smirked, turning toward Kaminari. "What's this? You don't even have a Hero license? Or is it just a temporary one?"
He let out a mocking laugh. "How are you going to kill me, kid? Without a license, you can't even touch me with your Quirk! Hahaha!"
He seemed to relish the opportunity to taunt Kaminari, taking his time despite the gravity of the situation.
"Kaminari, calm down! I'm fine!" Kaminari's father called out urgently, hoping to diffuse the tension.
No matter how furious he was at the Black Tiger Gang, nothing was more important than his son's future.
But Kaminari didn't respond. His steps were steady, his eyes fixed on Nicholas Fu.
"You're dead," Kaminari said quietly, his tone icy and final.
"Zzzzt!"
In the blink of an eye, Kaminari disappeared, leaving a trail of golden light in his wake. At that moment, nothing—not his father, not Snatch, not even the law—could stop him.
If someone dared to harm his family, not even All Might himself could stand in his way.
