My Garbage Collecting Cheat-Skill in Survival Game

Chapter 9: Chapter 9 "Shop"

"Why are you all silent? Don't tell me you've been stunned by my new passive skill." Alex looked at them; they looked back, but no one uttered a single word.

Dustin was the one who broke the silence, "It seems we all got one passive skill from clearing the first mini-game. Has anyone received more than this?"

They all shook their head, then one after another they shared their passive skill but none of them asked Ray.

It was known knowledge that the passive skills are all related to the players active skill and since they knew Ray's active skill, they didn't even bothered to ask him.

Ray on other hand was focused on learning about his new passive skill.

[Skill: Search (Passive)]

You can search rare defective items for three times a day. The failure won't count.

'Rare but defective! Why I'm not surprised.' Ray thought when he felt something small above his chest.

He looked above to see Hana's element beast was bouncing on his chest but then he saw another one on her hand.

"Am I seeing two?" He asked in confusion and finally got up on his feet.

The beast jumped back to Hana and merged with the other one. Hana explained, "This is my passive skill 'clone'. I can clone the Orby and attack the large number of enemies."

"Orby? Is it his name?" Alex laughed, "You should call it master orb instead."

Hana slammed her elbow on Alex's abdomen, "You keep your thoughts to yourself."

"ouch! Why are you so angry at me for no reason." Alex made a distance from Hana, while other looked at him, 'for no reason you say!'

"Ray see this!" Rohan handed him a green tiny pill.

"What's this?" Ray asked, looking at the pill with squinted eyes.

"That's my skill, 'Alchemist cum Healer'." Rohan said. "what a trashy name, Ha-ha" Alex laughed.

Rohan's passive skill, 'Alchemist cum Healer,' allows him to produce three pills a day, which he can store in his inventory or sell. However, it was a low-level skill, similar to his active skill, "Quick Heal."

Next, it was Fiona's turn. Her passive skill, "Minor Control," enables her to control plants for both offense and defense.

After her, Dustin, with a big smile, revealed his passive skill, "Gear Emperor." This skill allows him to create a defensive wall around himself. While every attack on the wall consumes his mana, it's a skill many would envy.

Finally, only Ray was left. He expected them to ask about his skill, but they didn't even mention it.

He had an idea why is that , 'They must have made a guess, what passive skill a garbage collecting skill will have, same a garbage collecting skill. Though they aren't wrong.'

Soon they exited the mini-game and parted ways. Dustin pulled Fiona as he began leaving with both Aaliyah and Alex tagging alone. He wasn't in a good mood, especially since he miscalculated things and even had to take help from Ray.

Saying their goodbyes, four of them left, leaving Hana, Rohan and Ray.

Then Hana said her goodbyes, but not before adding them as friends in the game so they could play together again someday. "I have to go; I need to prepare things for college."

"So, only we're left. What's your plan now, Ray?" Rohan asked.

"I don't have any plan; I'll play a little longer. What about you?"

Rohan sighed, "I won't be online for the full week now. I have things that need my attention."

"Is it serious?" Ray asked, sensing Rohan wasn't having a good time at home and must be going through some problems.

Rohan with a smile denied, "No, nothing big. I can handle it." After this, he also left, leaving Ray alone who then looked at the notification he was waiting for.

The amount wasn't large, but it was still something that would have taken him a couple of months to earn in his normal life.

Now what's left is to find a shop and see if those things can be sold or not.

The mini-game area had one shop, and all mini-game areas would have shops and other amenities as they were considered safe zones, with the majority of shops found in such areas.

Navigating his map, he reached an old, torn building that, from the outside, appeared dilapidated, but its base was surprisingly intact and new.

'This will be my first time having a conversation with an NPC.' Ray entered the shop, which had a bright, high-tech appearance.

It had glass shelves covering all the walls, displaying different types of items, making it look as if he had stepped inside a supermarket.

But they all had a golden lock virtual symbol which means they aren't available for him.

Then he approached the old man, who had a big built and round specs. Just looking at the NPC, Ray had a feeling that the man in front of him had a higher level than him.

"Hello, young adventurer, how can I help you?" The old man greeted Ray with a smile, which caught Ray off guard as he'd assumed the man would be strict or arrogant.

Without wasting time on chit-chat, Ray asked, "I need to sell some items, can you tell me if you can take them?" With that, he pulled out a single piece of leather armor.

The old man raised his eyebrows, then scrutinized the armor. "This is a low-level vest, but a rare item. It's not made an expert, so for this one piece, I can give you two coins at most."

Ray pondered and pondered, trying to decide if the old man's price was genuine or if he was being cheated, but Ray had no idea.

Then he decided to use some real-world tactics. "That's too low for such a rare thing; give me the actual price."

In return, the old man pointed to a piece of paper on the wall that read, "NO BARGAINING ALLOWED."

Ray abruptly asked, "No chance?" The old man shook his head in denial.

In the end, Ray decided to give in. "Okay then, I'll sell all of it to you." The old man, in doubt, asked, "All of it! How much do you have?"

Now it was the old man's turn to be shocked as Ray pulled out 200 pieces of leather armor, stunning him.

"Where did you get—no, no, leave it, dear guest. Are you selling all of it?" The old man's tone became more polite.

Ray nodded.

Ray sold the majority of them, while still keeping around 140 leather pieces, which he had a hunch might come in handy in the future.

"Do you have long-range weapons, healing potions, and food?" Ray asked.

The old man pressed a button, and a glass case opened, revealing bows, which Ray declined. He then showed crossbows and slingshots, which Ray also refused.

Finally, the old man opened his firearm collection, but the prices were too high, and most had conditions attached, such as, "Need an ice magic skill to wield an Ice Desert Eagle," or "AK47, but you have to be level 10 for that." There were other options, but their prices were all out of Ray's budget.

"If you're tight on budget, then I do have something, but it's not in good condition. Wanna see it?" The old man offered to show him a piece that was in working condition but wouldn't last long.
