My Garbage Collecting Cheat-Skill in Survival Game

Chapter 17: Chapter 17 "Underground Parking-Supermarket Loot"

[Location set: Mini supermarket]

The truck began moving on its own. While sitting on the driver's seat, Ray looked at many players who were flabbergasted by the heavy truck running on the road.

In panic, many hid behind rubble and buildings, thinking it was from the guilds who were famous for PK (Player Kill) killing in the ruined city, but it passed through them without even caring for anything.

"I don't think they can see me, but I like shocking expressions on their faces," Ray chuckled and passed through them.

In an hour, he finally reached the location: a building divided into three sections: an underground parking, the supermarket on the first floor, and the open roof at the top.

"Let's go inside."

The truck entered the underground parking, which had an eerie feeling. Then the truck stopped at the locked gate, which surprised him.

"Why is this locked?"

Usually, the underground would be an open place with hardly anything closed, and since this world has gone through such destruction, it felt suspicious to see the closed door of the underground parking.

"Why not check what this monster of mine can do." He pressed the button, and within moments, the drill on the front began swinging.

It destroyed the steel gate in one attack, making a large hole in it. Ray reversed the truck then pressed the accelerator, breaking the door into two.

"I wasn't expecting this." His mouth opened in awe.

There were around more than dozens of cars parked there, and many of them were luxurious cars. "It seems someone was using this place as his personal garage."

He got off his truck and checked every vehicle and began storing all the cars in his pocket dimension.

After clearing the whole place, he used the skill "search" for any rare item which he might have missed.

"So there isn't anything more rare than the cars, but this place must belong to someone…" he thought, then smirked, "Who cares?"

Then after this, Ray looked at the elevator, but due to no power, it wasn't working. Beside it were the stairs. "Let's check if the supermarket has something useful before I start things."

He headed towards the stairs and reached the blocked door, but it didn't stop him.

Ray blasted the door and entered the supermarket, which was already destroyed. The majority of the things were looted, especially the food items, but there were still many expired food items, including cans.

"Seems they left all of these for me to sweep the whole store."

As he walked through the aisles, notifications began popping up.

[Canned Fish Curry]

[Canned Noodles]

[Canned Stewed Meat]

[Bags of Dried Fruit]

[Bottles of Water]

He scanned through the list, a grin spreading across his face. "Expired, huh? Just as I thought."

Without hesitation, Ray activated his Restoration skill. A soft glow enveloped the expired items, and in moments, the notifications changed.

[Canned Fish Curry - Fresh]

[Canned Noodles - Fresh]

[Canned Stewed Meat - Fresh]

[Bags of Dried Fruit - Fresh]

[Bottles of Water - Fresh]

"As I thought!" he declared, his voice echoing in the desolate supermarket.

He then began collecting every single food item, from the furthest reaches of the shelves to the items wasted on the floor, all vanishing into his pocket dimension.

With the food secured, Ray moved on to other sections. He found a surprising number of useful items amongst the debris.

[Solar Powered LED Lantern (Destroyed)]

[First Aid Kit (Comprehensive) (Destroyed)]

[Blanket Pack (Destroyed)]

[Tactical Backpack (Destroyed)]

He swept through the electronics section, picking up various gadgets and components.

Next, he even found some camping and outdoor gear that would undoubtedly come in handy. It seemed the looters had been focused primarily on food, leaving a surprising amount of other useful supplies behind, because they were either destroyed or expired.

By the time he was done, the supermarket was truly barren.

"I feel like a thief looting a supermarket in the middle of the night."

Finally, he arrived at the counter section. Amidst the shattered display cases and scattered cash registers, something flashed in a dark corner.

It was a mask, lying half-hidden under a pile of rubble.

Ray took it up. It was an almost ghostly, sleek onyx mask made of a substance that appeared to absorb light.

It's dark, polarized lenses allowed for clear vision, but its sharp, angular contours were intended to hide his entire face.

Its surface had unique patterns on it, nearly imperceptible patterns that gave it an air of antiquity mixed with high technology. For someone who wished to conceal their identity, it looked both fashionable and menacing.

A satisfied smile touched his lips. "Perfect," he murmured, and slid the mask onto his face. It fit snugly, surprisingly comfortable.

He tried to speak and the mask gave Ray a deep voice, which was due to the mask, surprising him more than he expected.

Ray turned to go back, deciding he had robbed enough for now. His cool mask was still on his face as he came down the stairs. His eyes instantly focused on his truck as he entered the eerie quiet of the underground parking lot, but he could hear some voices.

Four figures with their backs to him surrounded his truck. One of them, a large man, was grunting in exasperation as he tried to pry open the driver's side door. But the truck was unyieldingly locked.

Ray's smile vanished. His eyes narrowed behind the onyx mask.

"Kael, you said with your fucking thieving skills, you can open this thing but I can't even budge this door. Who created such a thing?" the large man spoke while still trying to open the door.
