Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Yuigahama Yui Is Not the Main Heroine

"C-Can I get your contact info?"

"Sure."

The male lead glanced at the female lead and exchanged numbers with her.

She had completed her mission—securing the contact for her friend—which immediately lifted her friend's mood.

However, the male lead found himself feeling a bit of interest toward her.

What followed was a classic sequence:

The female lead was surrounded by delinquents—only for the male lead to appear heroically, taking down a few of them and pulling her along as they ran away together.

She brought him home and treated his injuries.

During the process, the male lead silently gazed at her.

Until…

Her face was completely flushed.

She lifted her head—

Their eyes met.

The male lead slowly leaned in—

Su Yu watched as the male and female leads kissed on screen.

This type of scene—he had written it countless times before.

Beside him, Yuigahama Yui had a completely red face, sneaking glances at him every few seconds.

Seeing that Su Yu was watching so intently, she hesitated for a moment before raising her small hand and blocking his view.

"…What are you doing?" Su Yu turned toward her, puzzled.

"D-Don't look…" Yui whispered, her voice barely audible.

Su Yu looked at her hand, then at her blushing face.

She was too cute.

The more he stared, the redder she became—until she suddenly withdrew her hand and turned her head away.

After a while, she peeked back to check if Su Yu was still watching the screen—only to find that…

He was still looking at her.

Flustered, she quickly looked down again, avoiding his gaze.

"The female lead isn't as cute as you," Su Yu whispered beside her ear.

Her face instantly overheated—a mix of shyness and happiness spreading through her heart.

She didn't dare look at him anymore.

If she did—if she met his eyes again—she was certain her heart would explode.

Seeing her reaction, Su Yu knew she was feeling shy.

This was the perfect moment to go on the offensive.

He glanced at her small hand, then slowly reached out—

And gently held it.

Yui's entire body stiffened.

Her face turned bright red.

She hesitated for a moment but… did not pull away.

Instead, she just turned her head away—a sweet smile appearing on her lips.

Su Yu, feeling her silent approval, held her hand tighter and continued watching the movie.

The Movie's Ending

Ever since the female lead shared that intimate moment with the male lead, she felt like her world had changed.

The male lead actively pursued her—

Waiting for her on the way to school.

Walking home together after classes.

Inviting her out on weekends.

When her friends found out, she worried about their reactions.

One day, one of her closest friends called her over with a serious expression.

Just as the female lead was about to explain herself, her friend suddenly smiled and asked:

"So, how are things going with him?"

She was caught completely off guard.

Seeing her reaction, the friend chuckled knowingly.

"I only had a crush on him—I never really liked him that much. If you do, just go for it."

Hearing those words, the female lead was deeply moved.

For the first time, she opened up about what happened in middle school.

Her friend finally understood why she had always been so hesitant when it came to relationships.

"Friendship isn't so fragile. If someone would abandon you over this, then maybe they weren't really your friend at all."

With those words of encouragement, the female lead finally stopped hesitating.

She started speaking her mind more.

And eventually—

She accepted the male lead's confession.

They became a happy couple in the eyes of everyone around them.

Outside the Theater

Yui sat in silence for a long time.

She had so many thoughts—but she couldn't put any of them into words.

The female lead's situation was too similar to her own.

But their personalities were different.

"Don't overthink it," Su Yu spoke gently beside her.

"Miura-san isn't like that friend in the movie. She genuinely cares about the people around her and supports them."

"…How do you know?" Yui asked, a bit surprised.

"Because… golden-haired girls are always tsundere."

"…Huh?"

Yui blinked.

"You could try asking them for advice. Maybe… tell them you want to date me and see what they say," Su Yu suggested casually.

"W-What happens after that?" Yui's face turned bright red.

"They'll help you—sincerely."

"I-I think talking to them about something like this… is kinda embarrassing," Yui mumbled, sneaking a glance at their still interlocked hands.

Su Yu suddenly had a thought.

"Do you want to meet new friends?" he asked.

"New friends?" Yui tilted her head.

"The Service Club takes on requests from students. My club president has been really bored lately. You could ask her for advice on how to win me over."

"Yukinoshita-san?" Yui's eyes sparkled.

Su Yu nodded, watching as people started leaving the theater.

"Tomorrow, I'll ask Yukinoshita-san for advice on how to pursue…"

Yui's voice trailed off.

She suddenly realized—

Their conversation had completely shifted.

They weren't talking about the movie anymore.

They were talking about her trying to win Su Yu over.

Wait… what?!

Her heart pounded rapidly.

Was Su Yu… implying something?

Did he actually… want to be with her?!

"Yuigahama-san, let's go," Su Yu's voice broke through her thoughts.

"…Okay."

She stared at his large hand, still holding hers.

He hadn't let go.

At the Café

With the sun setting, they left the theater together.

"It's still early. Want to grab some coffee?" Su Yu suggested.

"Mm."

Yui nodded, sneaking another glance at their hands.

They entered a café.

Both ordered coffee and sandwiches before finding a cozy table.

As they sat down, Su Yu finally let go of her hand.

Yui glanced at him—but said nothing.

"That movie had a lot of topics we could discuss…" Su Yu mused, gazing out the window.

"But honestly—I'd rather learn more about you than the movie."

"…W-What do you want to know?" Yui asked softly, also looking outside.

Su Yu turned to her and studied her carefully.

Her cheeks flushed as she felt his gaze on her.

Then—

"Yui, look over there."

Su Yu suddenly pointed outside.

Yui followed his direction—

And saw Hayama Hayato.

But he wasn't alone.

A young woman walked beside him, smiling brightly.

Hayama was carrying her bags for her.

"…Hayama-kun is with a girl?" Yui murmured in disbelief.

Then, her thoughts suddenly shifted—

Wait.

Su Yu had just called her 'Yui'.

Not "Yuigahama-san."

Her face turned completely red.

Meanwhile, Su Yu was calmly analyzing the scene.

"Given the time, they were probably shopping together," he noted.

The woman beside Hayama?

None other than—

Yukinoshita Yukino's older sister, Yukinoshita Haruno.
