Mumen Rider in MHA

Chapter 132: Chapter 132 : His Mother's Eyes Open

Hospital Room –

The hospital room is dim, the curtains drawn.

But the silence is shattered by gasps—nurses clustering around the small television in the corner.

Sayaka's breath is caught in her throat as she stares at the screen. Her nails dig into her arms. One nurse muffles a sob.

On the screen, he stands.

Bloodied. Shaking. Shielding the two civilians behind him.

Satoru.

Sayaka presses her knuckles against her mouth. "Don't do this. Please, don't…"

From behind her, the heart monitor beeps.

Then rises.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

Sayaka turns—her body already trembling.

The woman in the bed stirs.

Eyes open.

---

Satoru's Mother POV

The world is slow.

Blurry.

But she hears something.

A voice on the screen.

"Because I haven't finished yet."

And then the light from the screen shifts.

Flashes.

She turns her head.

Her vision sharpens—

And sees him.

Her boy.

Swaying in the wreckage. Face cut open. Standing in front of death itself.

"Satoru?"

Sayaka rushes to her side.

"You're awake—don't move, please—"

Her hand finds Sayaka's.

Grips tightly.

Eyes locked on the screen.

"What is he doing?"

"He's... he's protecting them," Sayaka whispers.

"Just like always."

---

Present – Kamino Ward

The blast crashes into Satoru like a tidal wave of fury.

He plants both feet. The steel frame of the bike rattles, bends.

He doesn't fall.

Smoke rises. Soot coats his skin. His armor is half-melted. Goggles shattered.

But he's still there.

All For One growls.

"Why won't you fall?"

Satoru spits blood.

"Because I haven't finished yet."

---

Flashback – Flower Shop, Years Ago

His mother struggles to prune the orchid near the window.

Satoru stands nearby, pretending not to hover.

Keiko brings tea and wipes the sweat from her forehead.

"You're always hovering," she teases him.

"I'm just... standing close."

His mother gives him a look.

"You've always been like that. When you were little—you never fought back."

"I remember," Keiko says, quietly.

His mother smiles, brushing a leaf aside.

"Even back then, you stood in the way. No matter how small you were."

Satoru glances out the window.

"I guess I still do."

---

Hospital Room – Present

She watches him take another blow.

Her hand tightens around Sayaka's.

"That boy…"

Sayaka's eyes fill again.

"He doesn't know how to stop."

---

The Crowd in Shibuya

Hundreds gathered around outdoor TVs now.

Traffic stopped.

In the rain, under umbrellas, faces turn upward—staring.

Children point.

"Is that Mumen Rider?"

"That's him."

An old woman clutches a bag of groceries to her chest.

"He helped me across the street… years ago."

---

Kana's POV – Kamino

She watches.

Barely able to lift her head.

The blood in her ears throbs.

Satoru shifts—his body giving a little.

But then—

He stands straighter.

Just for a second.

"He's still protecting me," she murmurs.

"Even when I can't move."

---

Hospital Room Again

The heart monitor beeps slow.

Rhythmic.

His mother reaches for the screen.

Her fingers brush the glass like she could touch his shoulder.

"Don't fall now, Satoru…"

Sayaka leans in.

"He can't hear you."

"I know," she says softly.

"But maybe he can feel it."

---

Final Scene – Kamino

Satoru wipes blood from his lip.

Stands alone in a ruined street.

The wind lifts the loose strap of his shoulder armor.

He looks up—at the towering shape of All For One before him.

No backup. No quirks. Just will.

He draws in a breath.

One foot forward.

"Still here."
