Mumen Rider in MHA

Chapter 131: Chapter 131 : The People Remember

Kamino – The Wreckage of Heroes

Satoru Kojima stands again.

Or rather—what's left of him does.

His armor hangs in cracked plates. His goggles are shattered. Blood trickles down his temple, pooling at the collar of his torn suit. His left arm no longer responds. His right leg drags with every step.

And yet—

He keeps moving.

Even All For One pauses.

"You're no longer a threat. What drives you now? What do you expect to change?"

Satoru doesn't answer.

Because this—this isn't for All For One.

It's for everyone else.

---

Train Station in Saitama – Night Broadcast

A station guard stares up at the mounted television.

The feed flickers, barely holding together. But the image is unmistakable:

A lone rider on broken legs facing a storm.

The guard's fingers clench.

"That kid…" he mutters.

Flashback—

That same man, years earlier, kneeling beside his son who had collapsed on a subway platform.

A boy in a cracked helmet arrived out of nowhere, performed CPR, then disappeared before thanks could be given.

---

A Barber in Yokohama

An elderly man watches the live stream through a store window.

He taps the glass with trembling fingers.

"That fool again…"

Flashback—

Smoke. A corner shop ablaze. A younger Satoru shoving a crying toddler into the old man's arms before running back inside for another child.

The child who lived still visits every New Year.

---

The Flower Shop – Miyako

She's stopped working entirely. The whole shop is silent. Empty.

Miyako's knees give out. She falls to the floor behind the counter, hugging herself.

"He's not supposed to be out there alone…"

---

Park Bench in Musutafu – The Homeless Man

He watches on a pocket radio.

His voice cracks with disbelief.

"Helmet Guy? That's Helmet Guy…"

Flashback—

A younger Satoru offering him a warm drink during winter.

No fanfare. No camera. Just a smile.

---

Sayaka POV

She grips the edge of the desk.

"You idiot…"

Flashback—

Satoru with a cracked rib, insisting he still had patrol duty.

She'd scolded him. Threatened to report him.

He'd smiled.

"Don't worry. I'll be back for the evening shift."

---

Kamino – Present

All For One raises another hand.

Energy pulses—dangerous, coiling.

Satoru breathes in.

And the world breathes with him.

"You're not strong," AFO says.

"You're not special. Not chosen. Not powerful."

"So what are you?"

Satoru doesn't answer with words.

He plants his feet.

His silhouette burns in the air as the blast strikes.

---

Streets Across Japan

People stop.

They don't blink.

And one by one, they begin to whisper.

"That's him…"

"Mumen Rider."

"The one who saved my friend."

"The one who gave me his umbrella."

"The one who stopped the bleeding."

"He's still standing…"

"That's our hero."

---

Kana's POV – Still Under Debris

She watches through smoke-filled air.

She remembers the old skatepark.

The warmth in his silence.

The way he never judged her—not once.

And now, as he takes another hit—

As he falls—

As he rises again—

She knows.

"This is what a hero is."

---

Kamino – Present

Satoru stands again.

His mouth bloodied. Hands shaking.

He lifts his chin.

Not for the villain.

For the people.

For every one of them.
