Chapter 17: Chapter 17: A Flat-Chested Girl Nobody Wants to Draw
"Welcome!"
"Oh, it's Gabriel-chan."
The cafe owner's voice rang out warmly. Yoru Moonshadow, who was busy sketching, paused and glanced at the door. A petite, blonde-haired girl with a sluggish expression dragged herself inside, looking like she didn't want to be there at all.
She looked vaguely familiar.
But Yoru quickly pushed the thought aside and refocused on his drawing. He was a bit out of practice. By this point in the day, he should have already finished refining the line art and started coloring. Yet here he was, still fine-tuning the details.
On his tablet screen, a cute bunny-girl was slowly taking form.
Finally, the linework was finished. Time to start coloring.
While coloring, Yoru absentmindedly reached for his coffee… only to find it was already empty.
"Hey, Manager, can I get another cup of that house blend?"
"Sure, coming right up!"
The owner sounded genuinely excited. After all, his special blend was his pride and joy, but it was rare for anyone to order a refill.
As Yoru waited, he casually glanced around. At the table right in front of him sat two girls. One had short purple hair, the other had long, silver-white hair.
The purple-haired girl was facing his direction. Just one look at her soft, gentle face gave off a heartwarming vibe. She seemed to notice his gaze and smiled back at him sweetly.
The silver-haired girl had her back turned, so he couldn't see her face, but judging by her elegant silhouette, she was probably just as beautiful.
But no matter how beautiful they were, they couldn't compare to the perfect girls of the 2D world.
Oh? That blonde waitress must be the new "little angel" the manager hired. She was cute at first glance, but there was something about her… how to put it? She gave off a lazy, degenerate, hopeless aura. Because of that, she didn't feel cute at all.
What was she doing now? Why was she chatting so casually with those two girls? And why was the purple-haired girl massaging her shoulders? Weren't their roles reversed? Who was the customer here? Who was the server?
Forget it. Not his problem. Back to his drawing. Check for any awkward spots, fix the lines…
Missing Summer Comiket had cost him big time. He had lost a major source of income. He needed to grind like crazy or he'd be eating dirt soon.
"Wait, Gabriel-chan, you don't need to deliver that, I'll take it!"
The owner panicked when he saw Gabriel snatch the cup of coffee he had just brewed. He had intended to bring it over himself.
"It's fine, it's fine, don't be so formal."
Who exactly was the owner here?
"Here's your coffee."
Her tone was completely flat. She placed the cup in front of Yoru's table.
"Whoa!"
A startled, almost cute squeal slipped out. Yoru looked up to see the petite, blonde girl glaring at him with an expression like she was staring at a pervert. Her face turned bright red as she hurriedly took several steps back, clutching her tray in front of her body as if she were guarding herself against the possibility that he might draw something indecent of her.
Wait a second. She looked familiar. Yoru squinted, taking a closer look. The girl raised her hand like a pair of scissors and jabbed toward his face, but he blocked it easily.
"You pervert! If you dare draw me, you're dead!"
The petite, flat-chested girl glared at him furiously, her gaze sharp enough to kill.
"Oh, it's you, the little brat who almost kicked me into the next life yesterday, you short, useless, defective petite girl!"
"Hah? Tch, so it's you! I should've kicked harder yesterday and sent you straight to hell!"
They both recognized each other and immediately threw insults like daggers.
"Draw you? Tsk, tsk, tsk."
Yoru clicked his tongue, sweeping his gaze over her petite frame with a look of pity and disdain. His lips curled into a mocking smile.
"A flat-chested girl with nothing worth drawing? Who would bother sketching you? What a joke. Pfft."
He covered his mouth, snickering.
"Flat-chested girl… pfft."
The silver-haired girl, who had been facing away, couldn't hold back her laugh either. She finally turned around, and Yoru got a clear look at her face an angelic beauty through and through.
The purple-haired girl sitting next to her puffed out her cheeks, clearly struggling to hold in her laughter.
"Pfft."
In the end, she couldn't hold it anymore and laughed out loud.
The golden-haired, petite girl Gabriel was trembling all over, her tiny fists clenched tightly. The tray in her hands had already been crushed, and her eyes were now filled with a terrifying, shark-like ferocity.
"Die, you bastard!"
She charged at him, radiating pure killing intent.
"Afraid of you? As if!"
Yoru immediately moved to intercept her, grabbing her hand as she lunged at him.
"Kill you!"
The cute little mouth that should have been saying adorable things now spat words so cold they could freeze the air. In that moment, Gabriel no longer looked like a little angel she was a hellish demon, her eyes practically glowing red.
"You? Kill me? Oh, what are you going to do? Try to scrub me to death with your washboard chest?"
Their hands were locked together, veins bulging as both exerted full strength like they were trying to crush each other's hands.
The tension crackled.
Yoru broke into a cold sweat. He hadn't expected this tiny body to pack such monstrous strength. She was basically a violent petite girl.
"Go, Gabriel, go! You got this, Gabriel!" cheered the silver-haired girl, completely enjoying the show.
"Stop it, stop it! You two, please let go!" panicked the purple-haired girl, genuinely worried.
"Gabriel-chan, Yoru-kun, please calm down!" The store owner rushed over, desperately trying to break up the fight.
The next second, Gabriel delivered a fierce kick toward Yoru. He smirked, utterly unfazed. With those tiny legs, she wouldn't reach him.
Except Yoru was wrong.
Sure, her short legs couldn't reach him but the shoe flying off her foot did.
It struck him square on the chin with the force of an uppercut from a pro boxer, sending his head spinning.
Grinning savagely, Yoru counterattacked.
Bang!
He slammed his forehead against Gabriel's tiny noggin with a vicious headbutt.
"Your head's harder than I expected!"
"Speak for yourself!"
"Kill you!"
"Kill you!"
The two of them scrapped like street punks, eventually tumbling to the floor in a chaotic mess.
Ten minutes later, they had rolled all the way to the café's entrance.
Both of them were beaten to a pulp. Bruised faces, panda eyes, matching bloody noses. They were still viciously pinching each other's cheeks, unwilling to let go. Both their arms were covered in bite marks.
They locked eyes.
So, we're calling it quits now, right?
Fine, you let go first.
No, you let go first.
You first.
You first.
Fine. Let's count down and release at the same time.
Three... two... one... zero.
Both of them stayed frozen, neither letting go. They glared at each other, furious that the other didn't stick to the deal.
Their eyes locked again.
Three... two... one... zero.
This time, they let go simultaneously and sat up.
"Gabriel, I've been looking for you!"
Just as Yoru managed to sit up, a cheerful voice called out behind him. The door was pushed open with force, slamming right into his back.
In an instant, Yoru stumbled forward right into Gabriel, who had also just stood up.
"Mmph!"
"Mmph!"
That strange, soft, silky sensation.
Their faces were so close, their wide eyes locked.
Big eyes staring into small eyes.
What happens next?
To be continued.
