Chapter 9: Battle to Protect Mewni
At the Boiling Isles, within the Castle of the Emperor, Belos was overseeing the Invasion of Mewni through a vision he had created.
"Our forces have successfully infiltrated Mewni," came the voice of Kikimora, who was right beside him. "It won't be long now."
"This is quite satisfying indeed, and this is just the start of my grand plan," Belos said. "Within time, the Mewman Empire will fall."
"And you will reign as the Emperor of the land, isn't that right, my liege?" Kikimora said.
"Yes, but that isn't quite the vision I had in mind, just a nice little bonus for me to enjoy," Belos said. "I have grander plans that extend beyond just conquering a realm. If anything, this is a side quest, a little appetizer before the main course. I still desire the Human Realm, but the tools to conquer that realm lay in here."
"You mean those Scissors?" Kikimora asked. "Since you have a pair, why not just make a portal to the Human Realm now?"
"One pair might be enough but having more would make the task a lot less complicated," Belos said. "Plus, just hearing the existence of the other realms has me curious, I want to learn all that I can about them."
"Eh, they're not so great," Came the voice of Ludo, the young Kappa making his way inside alongside Hunter.
"Watch your tongue, outsider," Kikimora warned. "Be grateful that Emperor Belos allows you to draw breath."
"You think you intimidate me?" Ludo said. "Honey, I've seen a lot of things in my time, including the damage Toffee can do, it'll take more than words to get me shaking."
"You are quite fearless," Belos said.
"Well, I don't have much to lose," Ludo said. "My Empire shattered, my henchmen are gone, one of them straight sided with my enemy, and my parents want nothing more to do with me, I'm not even welcome back home. The only thing of worth to me is my little brother, and he's probably better off without me around."
"Wow, that's actually rather deep for you," Belos said. "Here I thought you were just some scavenger hungering for power."
"I had power," Ludo said, looking to his right hand. "It was glorious, but like all good things in my life, it slipped away."
Hunter knelt beside Ludo, feeling a twinge of remorse for him, "Sorry you went through all that."
"Eh, I call it a learning experience," Ludo said. "I've still got plenty of years left in my miserable life, maybe things will turn around. It could happen today, or tomorrow, next week. It could happen in the last five minutes of my life and I'll be satisfied in knowing I truly was worth something."
"Perhaps you can be," Belos said. "My men do not know Mewni so well, if you could assist them in their charge, that would be quite helpful. It would be like you were in control again, doesn't that sound nice?"
"Well, becoming a conqueror again wasn't exactly on my list of goals but...it is the closest thing to a talent I have," Ludo said. "If I could make a suggestion, I'd rather protect my home."
"To keep your brother safe, is that right?" Belos asked.
"Exactly, though if anyone sees my parents they're free to go to town on them," Ludo said. "But my brother is off limits."
"Sounds like you have parent issues," Kikimora said. "Eh, I can almost relate."
"Also, is it possible to keep the Princess alive?" Ludo asked. "She's a very nice girl actually, she'd be much more valuable as an ally than an enemy. Worse comes to worse, we send her and her family to another realm."
"If you want Star Butterfly to live, well that will come down to you, and her," Belos said. "I cannot make any promises on my end, you'll just have to work for it."
"Very well," Ludo said, then gestured to Hunter. "Also, can I bring the kid here with me?"
"Hunter?" Belos asked.
"Wait, me?" Hunter asked.
"Well yeah, you are the Golden Guard, you must have some talent as a warrior," Ludo said.
"I...really don't," Hunter admitted.
"Oh come now, Hunter," Belos said. "You can do anything you put your mind to. This will be a great experience, go off with Ludo. In fact, Kikimora, why don't you accompany them?"
"Me? But why sir?" Kikimora asked.
"It will calm my worries if a friend of mine kept my nephew safe, along with our new friend," Belos said.
"Yeah, it'll be fun!" Ludo said.
Kikimora groaned in frustration, "Very well."
The three left, leaving Belos to observe on from his domain, "Hopefully Ludo can be a good gauge of how to overcome the Butterfly Family. I hate to admit it, but they might be trouble, I cannot allow them to ruin my plans."
Back in her castle, Queen Moon took note of the impending invasion from the distance, hoping her forces would be enough to push it back.
"What a fine time for an invasion," Moon lamented. "Like we didn't have enough to worry about."
"Just another day in our lives, I'm sure everything will be fine dear," King River said.
"I certainly hope so," Moon said.
Eclipsa noticed her worries from nearby, truthfully she was a bit irritated that this would lead to a delay in finding her daughter, but she had to endure it for now, if nothing about this invasion was done, then it would be harder to find her daughter.
It was then that Star had come back through the portal, joined by Marco, Hekapoo, Tom and Kelly, with Moon having taken note of their arrival, "Oh good, you came back quickly."
"Yeah, it didn't take too long to find Amity, or some allies," Star said, gesturing to the portal. Amity arrived first, joined by Luz, King and Eda.
"So, this is Mewni," Eda said. "Fancier than I thought it'd be."
"Edalyn?" Lilith said, getting the woman's attention.
"Lil! Damn it's good to see you," Eda said, bringing her sister in for a small hug.
"I'm so glad you're safe! I really got worried when I came back home and you weren't there!" Lilith said. "I can't believe you got stuck in another realm! I was only gone for a couple of hours!"
"You know me sis, I can get into weird stuff in the span of fine minutes," Eda teased.
"Yeah, you certainly can," Lilith said, then turned to Luz. "And how are you doing dear?"
"I'm fine, the world wasn't too bad, plus I made some new friends," Luz said, gesturing back to the portal.
This time Anne, Sasha, Marcy, Grime, Maddie, Sprig, Hop Pop and Polly came through, each of them admiring the castle.
"Fancy..." Grime said.
"Hey Anne, come meet Eda's sister," Luz said. "Lilith, this is Anne, she's the girl who helped me out when I first came here."
Anne made her way to Lilith, waving to the older witch, "Hi, name's Anne. So you're Eda's sister, I can see a slight resemblance."
"Oh, hello Anne," Lilith said. "You look...human."
"Well yeah, I am human," Anne said.
"Anne, Marcy, Sasha and Luz all come from Earth just like Marco," Star explained.
"Though it's still surprising to find so many human girls in a realm outside of their own," Kelly said.
"They got there through some magical music box," Marco said.
"A magical music box?" Moon asked. "Curious, I thought that was just a myth."
"Wait, you've heard of it?" Anne asked.
"I think so, I heard of something referred to as the Calamity Box. I do not know much about it, only that it was an ancient way of traveling through the many dimensions," Moon said. "It belonged to an old King, who used its powers to conquer dimensions, until eventually that power was sealed away."
"An old King?" Marcy asked. "Do you know where this King was from?"
"I'm afraid I cannot answer that, like I said, I believed it to by a myth, an old fairy tale passed through the generations," Moon said.
"King Andrias might know, we can ask him later," Anne said. "Right now, we gotta protect this Kingdom from an evil Emperor."
"Yeah, about that..." Hekapoo said. "I really don't think it's a good idea sending some scrawny kids to fight witches."
"Hey, scrawny kid here," Luz said, waving her hand to get attention. "I've fought against Belos's forces before, and Anne here is pretty tough, I think we can handle it."
"Marcy and Sasha are tough too, in fact out of the three of us, I'd say Sasha is the strongest," Anne said.
"Got that right, I am First Lieutenant of the Toad Army," Sasha said. "Tell her Grimsey."
"She's the First Lieutenant of my army," Grimes said. He turned to Sasha, earning a minor glare from the girl. "What? I told her what you wanted me too."
"I was hoping you'd, you know, go into grander detail," Sasha said. "Like, tell everyone what makes me a great fighter."
"Instead of asking someone to stroke your ego, let's focus on the task at hand," Amity said, the comment irritating Sasha.
"So just to be clear, all of you have battle training, correct?" Kelly asked.
"Yes, I have plenty of battle training," Sasha said, showing off her sword. "There isn't much I can't handle."
"I'm a witch, and I've trained in combat for years," Amity said, summoning part of her Abomination.
"Same here," Luz said, demonstrating her abilities with a fire glyph. "I've been in combat before."
"I practiced with King Andrias's knights," Marcy said, showing off her bow.
"I've fought off giant bugs for months, with just a Tennis Racket," Anne said, whipping out the item. "I'm also pretty dang good with a sword."
"I know magic," Maddie said. "Not the same type as a Boiling Isles witch, but good enough to fight them off."
"I got weird martial arts training from my mom," Ivy said, taking a stance. "It somehow worked."
"I have a slingshot," Sprig said. "And a violent little sister."
"I'm not that violent," Polly said. "But I can definitely hold my own in a fight."
"She's certainly got the bravery," King said.
Star turned her attention to Hekapoo, "So, are you convinced?"
"Barely," Hekapoo said. "Of course, we let Marco fight, and he's somehow useful, much to my surprise."
"I resent that!" Marco said.
"I'm just messing with you, I think I of all your friends in this dimension know what you're capable of," Hekapoo said. "If anything, I know you have a stubborn persistence."
"Darn right I do," Marco said.
"Well as long as everyone here has some form of training, then I guess we can all handle the army of that Belos guy," Kelly said. "How do we go about this though?"
"First thing's first, we have to keep this castle protected," Anne said. "How good are the guards here?"
"Oh they're great, some of the viscous guards in Mewni," Star said. "Great babysitters too, they taught me several ways to kill an enemy when I was just a toddler."
Anne had no immediate reaction, similar to her friends, though in time she grew mildly concerned by that statement, "Alright, well that's great to know, probably."
"If you're worried about defense, then leave it to me," Ivy said, taking a karate position. "I'll diligently patrol the castle, bringing all invaders to their knees!"
"I'll stick by her side, give a bit of magical assistance," Maddie said, holding a potion bomb.
"You two do that," Polly said. "Meanwhile I'll ride off into glory! Bringing down all foes in my way! Everyone will tremble in fear before the power that is Polly Plantar!"
"That is one excitable child," River said. "Warriors are becoming younger and younger these days."
"How old is she exactly?" Hekapoo asked.
"She's five," Anne said.
"Yeah, new rule, no one under the age of twelve is permitted to do battle," Hekapoo said.
"Aw what?" Sprig asked.
"Hey come on now," King said.
"I don't need a bunch of little kids going out there and becoming a liability, kids your age do not belong on the battlefield," Hekapoo said.
"Oh come now, my mother, Queen Solaria, used to bring me out to the battlefield when I was a baby and I turned out just fine," Eclipsa said.
"Yes, I remember, and I remember that we told her that was a bad idea, but Solaria did pretty much whatever she wanted, because she was borderline insane," Hekapoo said.
"We Butterflies definitely think outside the box for sure," Eclipsa said.
"My point is, the kids should stay here, in fact, they should go back to that Amphibia place." Hekapoo said. "Much safer there than here."
"Hey, we appreciate you looking out for us, but my sister and I have been in dangerous peril before, and we turned out alright," Sprig said.
"It's true, Sprig and Polly are very brave," Anne said.
"And so is King," Luz said.
"At least let us patrol with Ivy and Maddie," Polly said.
"Yeah, we can even have a chaperone," Sprig said.
"A chaperone? Eh, fine I guess," She turned to Rhombulus. "You're on kid duty big guy."
"Huh? Why me?" Rhombulus asked.
"Because your powers are useful, if things get bad you can shield the kids with your crystals, maybe even trap a few enemies," Hekapoo said.
"Oh...for a second I thought it was because you thought I was useless," Rhombulus said.
"You are sometimes, not gonna lie," Hekapoo said, much to her teammate's disappointment. "But you're at least reliable, I'm trusting you with this."
"Well, alright, I won't let you down," Rhombulus said.
"I can assist in protecting the castle if you wish," Lilith said. "It'd be the least I can do for the hospitality you've shown me."
"My sister's a strong witch, she could probably protect this place herself," Eda said.
"Oh come now Edalyn, you overestimate me," Lilith said.
"She is strong, I can vouch for that as well," Amity said.
"Maybe Grime here can also be of assistance in protecting the castle," Sasha said.
"Huh? Why me? I'm better suited out there," Grime said.
"They need all the muscle they can get, plus having an experience General could be beneficial," Sasha said. "You'd be able to pass down your wisdom."
"Oh, good point," Grime said. "You have my word that no foul, hideous, ugly witches will taint this castle with their diabolicalness."
"Um, witches right here," Eda said, Lilith and Amity looking just as annoyed.
"I mean that in the nicest way," Grime said, nervously laughing off the awkwardness.
"Alright, we got most of the defense covered, what about offense?" Luz asked.
"I'm leading a charge alongside Omnitrax," Hekapoo said. "Anyone who wants to join me is more than welcome to, as long as you follow my orders."
"Why should you make all the orders?" Amity asked.
"Yeah, I am a Lieutenant, I should lead the charge," Sasha said.
"I have more experience, that's why," Hekapoo said. "If you want to head into battle, you follow my lead."
"Ugh, why do I get the feeling you're going to be super bossy?" Sasha said. "That's a very annoying trait you know."
Luz frustratingly turned her attention to Anne, "Is she serious!?"
"Yes, but...just, don't let it frustrate you," Anne said.
"Be happy I'm even here, I could have stayed in Amphibia," Sasha said. "I came because I care."
"You sure it's not as an excuse to hurt others very violently?" Amity asked, much to Sasha's annoyance.
"Don't make my practice my skills on you," Sasha warned, pulling out her sword and taking a stance. "You haven't even seen what I'm capable of."
Amity showed off a bit of her magic, "Neither have you."
"Um, please do not fight in my castle," Moon urged.
"Gotta say, I like the energy here, especially from the blonde one," Hekapoo said. "You sure talk a big game girl, hope you can back it up."
"I can do more than back it up," Sasha said, aiming her sword. "I bet I can lead all of Mewni to victory against that Emperor Witch."
"I respect your confidence at least, but you're gonna need more than words to fully win me over," Hekapoo said.
"Send me out there, let me show you what I can do," Sasha said.
"Easy Sasha, you've never gone against magic before," Anne said. "If you're not careful, you might get yourself killed."
"Well we're no strangers to magic, Anne," Sasha said. "After all, that Music Box is what brought us to Amphibia."
"Well yeah..." Anne admitted. "But still..."
"Also, I'm pretty sure that golem we fought at the temple counts as magic," Sasha said.
"Probably not the same type of magic though," Anne said.
"It's all relative," Sasha said.
"No, it really isn't, some magic is different than others," Luz said. "You gotta take this seriously, Sasha."
"I am taking this seriously," Sasha reassured. "I seriously believe I am going to crush this army."
"Sasha, is it?" Star said, getting her attention. "We appreciate your passion, and we understand that you feel that you're strong. I can't say otherwise since I've never seen you fight, but be warned, this has to be a team effort. Don't go throwing your life away out there."
"I got this, Princess," Sasha said.
"Also, cool it with the arrogance, at one point I would have found that cool, but my run-in with a girl named Mina Loveberry proved otherwise," Star said.
"That name again, who is this girl exactly?" Sasha asked.
"One of Mewni's strongest knights, and one of few mewmans to have lived for hundreds of years, going back to the days of Queen Solaria," Hekapoo said.
"My mother was quite fond of her," Eclipsa said.
"She gets the job done, but I do agree with Star on one thing, don't get too crazy out there, Mina had a tendency to go out of control," Hekapoo said.
"You know, if things get bad, we might need to find Mina and see if she can help us," Kelly said.
"No one's seen Mina in quite some time," Moon said. "That does have me quite worried, I do hope she's alright."
"Let her stay lost, she's living proof that you should never meet your heroes," Star said.
"Star, we gotta keep our options open," Marco said.
"Figure it out later," Hekapoo said. "Now, who's with me?"
"I am," Luz said. "I've came into contact with Belos before, you'll need my help."
"I'm familiar with his castle, if we make it that far, you'll need my guidance," Amity said.
"That guy tried invading my Kingdom, I'm bringing the fight to him," Star said, gripping her wand.
"I'm with Star on this," Marco said.
"My sword is at your calling, Hekapoo," Kelly said, pointing her weapon.
"I'm so down for a showdown," Tom said.
"I'm with you too," Anne said, holding her racket. "Gonna bust some heads."
"I'm ready and willing," Marcy said, loading her crossbow.
"I'm ready for a fight too," Sasha said. "But...I'd like some say in our battle plan."
"She is quite intelligent in the field," Grime said. "She would make a valuable asset."
"Sounds tempting, but I can't trust just anyone," Hekapoo said. "I need to see your skills for myself."
"We don't have time for that," Star said. "Sasha, you can stick to following orders for now, can't you?"
Sasha looked a bit annoyed, but shrugged it off, "Fine, I'll go along with it for now."
"Great, let's hurry," Hekapoo said, leading the charge.
Everyone about to leave, though Marco suddenly remembered something, stopping in his tracks, noticed only by Anne and Luz.
"Marco, what's wrong?" Anne asked.
"Hekapoo's from a dimension where time moves differently, she can train Sasha for days, months or years and only a few minutes at most would pass in this world," Marco said. "Actually, she could take all of us into that world, might give us a bit of extra practice."
"So, there's a chance we can all go to a Dimension where we'd just have to see more of Sasha while she's training to potentially be a co-leader alongside Hekapoo?" Luz asked. "The same Sasha, whom we might have to spend an extra several months with."
"Yeah, pretty much," Marco said.
"Good to know, because this means that you will be keeping your mouth shut because I am not going through that headache," Luz warned.
"Huh? But it's a good opportunity for all of us, to be able to train for years within a few seconds," Marco said. "If it's aging you're worried about then don't. Even if you age like twenty years in that dimension, when you come back here, you'll be the age you are now again. You'll still be teenagers, just with an adult mentality."
"That sounds like a good idea on paper, but I don't think I can handle being away from home that much longer, even if it's only a couple extra minutes in our time," Anne said.
"That too, I'm gonna go crazy in a place like that," Luz said. "Even if it does mean spending more time with Anne and Amity."
"Aw, you really want to hang out more don't you? Well if we get our own pairs of scissors, we can make that work," Anne said.
"Good luck getting a pair from Hekapoo, I had to chase her through that dimension," Marco said.
"Yeah, she totally played cat and mouse with you," Rhombulus said.
"Hey slowpokes! Hurry up!" Hekapoo called.
"Coming," Marco said.
"Try not to bite the dust out there, Marco," Janna said.
Marco groaned in annoyance, "Thanks Janna..."
"Hey I mean it, take care of yourself, gonna be pretty bummed if you die," Janna said, to the surprise of Marco.
"Wait, really?" Marco asked. "Do you mean that?"
"Yeah, you're fun to mess with, if you die, who am I gonna screw around with?" Janna asked, Marco immediately feeling disappointed.
"Wow, the care and concern," Marco said, both Anne and Luz looking equally as confused and annoyed.
"Hey losers! Hurry up!" Hekapoo shouted.
"Jeez Louise! We're coming!" Marco called.
"Also, don't call us 'losers'!" Anne said. "So not cool!"
"Esa chica es muy mandona," Luz said.
"Yeah, what you said..." Anne said. "Even if I don't know what that means."
"Well chica means 'girl', that's all I know," Marco said, leading his two female friends away.
Moon still looked very concerned, now her daughter was going against an unknown enemy alongside her friends. River took her hand to comfort her.
"Our daughter will be fine, she's got friends that will help keep her safe, dear," River said.
"Yes, I know they will," Moon said. "I just hope none of them perish to do so, I don't think Star could handle that on her conscious, I don't think anyone can."
"If they fight together, they'll win," River said.
"I'd listen to your husband, Your Highness," Eda said. "Luz and Amity are strong girls, they'll be able to keep your daughter safe, and each other."
"Anne, Marcy and Sasha are strong girls too, they have this," Hop Pop said.
"And most of all, she has Marco with her, and when has he ever let her down?" River said.
"I wish I could bottle and sell your optimism dear," Moon said. "Seems like the rest of you have that same faith."
"It's easy to worry, I mean I don't want anything happening to Luz, but I still gotta trust that she's got this," Eda said.
"Dang near impossible not to worry," Hop Pop said.
"The burden of parenting," River said.
Nearby Sprig noticed that the hallway was nearby, "Who wants to explore this place?"
"Me! I do!" Polly said. "I wanna find some armor my size."
"I don't think one exists," King said.
"It can if you believe hard enough," Polly said, joining Sprig in heading to the hallway.
"How does that even...ah never mind," King said, following the siblings.
"Race you Maddie," Ivy said, taking a head start.
"Hey! No fair!" Maddie said, following after Ivy.
"Ah, the youth, such young innocence," Grime said.
"Uh, probably should go after them," Rhombulus said.
"Oh yes, of course," Grime said. "Lead the way my good man...or diamond, whatever you are."
"Be careful you two," Lilith called to the two men as they left.
"Something tells me things are about to get exiting," Eda said.
"They usually do around here," Eclipsa confirmed.
Out in the fields, Hekapoo had led her squad of fighters toward the invading witches alongside Omnitrax Prime while many Mewman soldiers waited in the back. She looked back to see how composed everyone was, especially the newcomers.
Star, Marco, Kelly and Tom looked ready, not that she was surprised, she knows they've been in battle before.
She looked over to Luz and Amity, the former looking a bit concerned while the latter just had an apathetic look in her eyes, something she's come to notice about her. Though the only time she showed much emotion was anytime she glanced towards Luz, beyond that she just seemed very disinterested.
She checked on the three newcomers from Amphibia. Anne looked confident but Hekapoo could tell she was putting on a brave face to hide how nervous she was. Marcy was just looking around in awe, Hekapoo wondering if she was more curious about this world than frightened by the situation. Sasha had a look of determination in her eyes, she was ready for battle.
"Perhaps that Sasha girl really is talented, she definitely speaks with confidence when she talks about battles, unlike everyone else she seems more than ready. Plus when she pulled her sword out earlier, she took a rather professional stance. She's definitely no amateur."
"The witches are getting closer," Omnitrax Prime said. "All of you, be ready."
"We got this," Marcy said, aiming her crossbow. "Who's with me?"
"Let's come up with a plan first," Sasha said. "We're going to need a good combination of offense and defense, close combat and range."
"Smart thinking," Hekapoo said. "I'm going to need a few of you to lead a charge alongside our forces. Sasha, that's where you come in. Show me you're as talented as you say you are."
"You got it," Sasha said. "I'm gonna blow you away with my skills."
"Kelly's good with a sword too, now are any of your friends good in close combat?" Hekapoo asked.
"Anne's pretty good with a sword, Marcy's better for defense or sneak attacks," Sasha said.
"Alright, bring Anne as well, I'm going to take Marco, Marcy and Amity with me along with a few soldiers to flank the enemy," Hekapoo said.
"What about me?" Star asked.
"You stay behind and use your magic, bring Luz and Tom with you," Hekapoo said. "Omnitrax, stay close to our soldiers."
"Affirmative," Omnitrax Prime said. "Everyone, good luck out there!"
"Marco, Amity, with me, everyone else, charge!" Hekapoo said, leading her two allies away while Sasha aimed her sword toward the invading Coven Guards.
"Let's go Mewni!" Sasha ran in along with Kelly and Anne while Luz, Star and Tom stayed back, readying their magic.
"By the way Luz, do any of these witches have notable weaknesses?" Tom asked.
"I think they hate water," Luz said.
"Bummer, I'm more of a fire guy," Tom said.
"Don't worry, I might have something for them," Star said, aiming her wand.
"By the way, that wand is so cool! Is it uniquely yours?" Luz asked.
"No it's a family heirloom, but I can make it look uniquely mine," Star said. "It's kind of our thing."
"Focus ladies, we got a fight to win," Tom said.
The witches came in close while Sasha and her team rushed in to attack, disarming the first enemy she came across and kicking it into a bunch of others, knocking them over like bowling pins.
"Piece of cake!" Sasha used her sword to fend off against all types of attackers.
Similarly Kelly had also used her sword for defense purposes, knocking back waves of enemies while Anne appeared beside her, using both her sword and racket to fight, knocking some enemies back.
"Wow, can't believe you actually fight with a tennis racket," Kelly said, ducking an attack and kicking the guard. "So cool!"
"I can't believe you can swing around that big sword," Anne said, dodging and kicking an enemy. "Even cooler!"
"TAKE THIS!" Sasha aggressively broke the staff an enemy with a sword, scaring him off. "Wimp!"
"Wow she's aggressive, I respect that about her," Kelly said.
"Anne, Kelly, get your butts in gear, we still got a lot of enemies to take down!" Sasha shouted.
"And a bit bossy, something we're working on fixing," Anne said.
"Hey it works in battle at least," Kelly said. "Come on!"
From the distance, Luz, Tom and Star are blasting at the Coven Guards, while Luz stuck with ice to compliment Tom's fire, star had readied a charge from her want.
"Narwhal Blast!" Using one of her signature attacks, she sent a flurry of narwhals at the enemies, gushing in a blast of water.
"That's so cool!" Luz shouted. "You even shout your attack names! Just like in anime!"
"Oh yeah, Marco showed me this show with magical girls," Star said. "They take forever to transform but it looks to pretty."
"That reminds me, I should find time to show my friends, I think Willow would like it," Luz said.
"Girls! Remember! Invaders! Fight!" Tom said.
"Oh we can multitask," Star said, sending out more magic. "Also it's funny too, Marco watches other shows where the transformations take forever."
"Yeah but it looks so epic!" Luz said. "Really gets you excited for what's coming next."
"Blimps!" Tom said, gesturing to some vehicles in the sky.
"Take them town!" Star ordered, many Mewman soldiers aiming bows and arrows in the air.
Near the edge of a field, Hekapoo hid behind a rock with her three allies. "Amity, you can summon that weird monster, right?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Amity asked.
"Use it to distract the guards, we'll sneak around and take a bunch out," Hekapoo said.
"Yeah, sure," Amity said, summoning her Abomination, surprising the Coven guards.
"What in the world!?"
"Destroy it!"
As the guards were distracted, Hekapoo ordered her attack, "Hurry, the Element of surprise can only last for so long!"
She leapt out from behind the rock, kicking some guards down and using her dual scissors to fight. Marco rushed in, using his karate skills to kick one guard, flip another and rolled into a jump kick. Two guards tried to attack him from different sides, but he immediately back flipped away.
One guard rushed at Marco, but his weapon was latched onto by Marcy, the girl reeling in from her crossbow and kicking the guard.
"Whoo! Teamwork!" Marcy said.
A few more guards tried to attack, but Amity's used part of her magic to disorient them, allowing Marco and Marcy to use hand to hand abilities to bring the guards down, Amity ending their beatdown by rushing in for an elbow to their gut, allowing Marco and Marcy to hit an uppercut.
"Not bad you three," Hekapoo complimented, then saw more guards coming. "Quick, stand behind me!"
"Can you stop them alone?" Amity asked.
"Who said anything about being alone?" Hekapoo said, creating a few clones of herself and rushing in to attack the invading guards.
"She can duplicate herself!?" Amity asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, that's one of her abilities," Marco said. "Truthfully I don't even know why she brought us along, she could have done this alone."
"Guess she just wanted to see if we can really fight, and it sounds like we managed to impress her," Marcy said.
"How big is Belos's army?" Marco asked.
"Pretty big since he controls the Boiling Isles," Amity said. "Though I don't think he's quite sent in the heavy hitters yet."
"Hopefully things won't get too bad, though if worse comes to worse, we could go to Amphibia and see if King Andrias can assist," Marcy said. "Two Kingdoms are stronger than one."
"Eh, doesn't seem fair to involve Amphibia's army," Marco said.
"Let's just keep fighting under our own power for now," Amity said.
"Take this!" a guard rushed over to attack, but Amity immediately disarmed him, leaving him powerless "Fear my magic!"
Marcy used her crossbow to latch onto his army and pulled him in for Marco to land a jumping kick to his head.
"Teamwork!" Marcy said, holding her fist out, Marco and Amity going along with and doing a triple fist bump.
From the distance, Hunter, Ludo and Kikimora were walking through the army, all three looking ahead to the enemies they were to face.
"It's been so long since I was part of an army," Ludo said. "I wonder if Star Butterfly is around? Or that boyfriend of hers?"
"How strong is this princess?" Hunter asked.
"Fairly strong, enough to oppose even me," Ludo said.
"That bar isn't exactly high," Kikimora said.
One guard got sent flying, much to Hunter's confusion. "What in the world?"
"Look ahead," Ludo said, gesturing to Sasha fighting off against the guards.
"Is that the Princess?" Kikimora asked.
"No that's..." Ludo scratched his head in confusion, "I actually have no idea who that is."
"Sasha! Behind you!" Kelly shouted, running in and knocking a guard away.
"Ok that one I know, she's one of Star's friends, a Woolett girl," Ludo said. "She's not from this realm."
Hunter readied his Palisman, "Alright, I'm ready to fight."
"Good, go on boy, I'll support you from the distance," Ludo said.
"Wow, how reassuring," Kikimora taunted.
"Oh you're one to talk, I've seen how you look down at that boy, such a shame too, he was really worried about you when you fainted the other night," Ludo said.
"Pfft, worried, the only reason he wouldn't leave me behind is to not face the wrath of Belos," Kikimora said.
"That's not the vibe I got," Ludo said. "You know, times like these I miss my henchmen, wish I could find them."
"They're probably as useless as you are," Kikimora said.
"Says the girl who's sitting back next to me," Ludo taunted. "Bet you can't put up a fight either."
"Oh, confident one aren't you?" Kikimora said, readying her magic. "I'll show you what the assistant of The Emperor is capable of!"
As Sasha continued to fight, she came face to face with Hunter, the girl immediately raising her eyebrow, "Who are you?"
"I am Hunter, The Golden Guard for Emperor Belos, and I have come to do battle against you," Hunter said, aiming his Palisman. "Do you accept?"
"Ok, first off, nice theatrics there, Mr. Drama Club," Sasha taunted. "Second, you look kind of young to be a guard."
"You're one to talk, you're probably around my age!" Hunter said.
"Yeah that's true, I'm kind of a warrior prodigy," Sasha said.
"And I'm...closely associated with the Emperor!" Hunter said. "And I will fight on behalf of his honor!"
"You are such a dork," Sasha teased. "Kind of cute actually."
"Excuse me!?" Hunter shouted in embarrassment, his face turning shades of red. "I don't think you understand just who you're talking to!"
"Oh I get it," Sasha began. "You're close with the Emperor, probably a relative, and he felt pity on you and sent you out to fight to make you feel better about yourself and any shame you might have, so you're putting on this tough act trying to intimidate me, probably thought you'd have success because I'm a girl, and hoping to justify any relevance you think you have, did I get everything?"
The look in amazement on Hunter's face could not be paralleled, this girl basically verbally decimated him, and they had just met. Hunter immediately shook it off to the best of his ability, trying to maintain his composure. "I'll have you know I am a trained user in witchcraft!"
"That's cute, can you actually use it though?" Sasha taunted.
"Why you!" Hunter tried to attack with his Palisman but Sasha dodged and whacked him in the back with the helm of her sword.
"Nice try," Sasha taunted. She dodged another attack from Hunter, then jumped to kick him in the back, knocking him over. "You kind of suck at this."
"Why you!" Hunter lost his temper and sent out a magic blast that nearly got Sasha in the head, the girl fortunate enough to dodge. He then rushed in and tackled her back, Sasha rolling over back onto her feet.
"Alright, better, you got me there," Sasha said, aiming her sword again. "Do you want to try again? Or are you tuckered out?"
Hunter ran in and clashed his Palisman against Sasha's sword, the two engaged in close combat, Hunter using any magic he could to try and disorient Sasha while the girl used her quick reflexes to dodge and kick Hunter in the head.
"I'm not losing to you!" Hunter sent another magical attack that Sasha leapt over and rolled into a knee to Hunter's face and a sweep kick that knocked him over.
"If you're the 'Golden' Guard, then this army doesn't have a hope in hell of winning," Sasha said.
"Don't underestimate me, Mewman," Hunter said. "You have no idea what we're capable of."
"Mewman?" Sasha asked. "Well I guess that's an easy mistake to make, but I'm not a Mewman. I'm a Human, from Earth."
Hunter's eyes widened in shock," A Human!? That's impossible! No human can defeat me! You haven't even used magic!"
"I don't know magic, and clearly I don't need to," Sasha said. "You're not good even with magic."
"And I thought Luz was annoying, but you...you're just full of yourself," Hunter said.
"Luz? Did you say Luz?" Sasha asked. "Huh, so you know her. Makes sense, she was in your world."
"You know Luz?" Hunter asked.
"Yeah, has a cat hoody, speaks a little Spanish, full of energy but also a pain in the butt," Sasha said. "She your friend?"
Hunter's eyes widened in shock, shamefully turning away, "No, she's my enemy." He turned back to Sasha, "Just like you are!"
The two once again clashed, similarly to Kelly and Kikimora, the little witch joining the battle.
"Hold still!" Kikimora said, trying to zap her opponent.
"You really expect me not to dodge?" Kelly said. "So weird when enemies say 'hold still', like I'm actually going to do so!"
"Such a chatterbox!" Kikimora said, sending another zap.
Anne continued taking enemies down, while taking note of both Sasha's fight with Hunter and Kelly's fight with Kikimora. "Must be two of the top dogs."
"Oh they are, young lady," Came Ludo's voice, the Kappa glancing at Anne. "Hello, nice to see you."
"Uh, who are you?" Anne asked.
"Call me Ludo, I'm an old friend of Star Butterfly," the mischievous creature said.
"You know Star?" Anne asked.
"I actually haven't seen you before, and based on your clothes, I'm going to guess that you aren't Mewman," Ludo said.
"No, I'm actually a human girl," Anne said.
"Ah, just like Marco," Ludo said. "Is he here too, might I ask?"
"He's around, wait, are you planning a sneak attack?" Anne asked, aiming her racket. "I will take you down right now if I feel like you're going to hurt Star or Marco."
"Easy child, I mean no harm...yet," Ludo said.
"Alright that's kind of suspicious, I'm taking you out," Anne went to attack but Ludo immediately tossed down a smoke bomb, distracting Anne long enough for Ludo to make his escape. "Where the..."
"Take this!" a guard tried to attack Anne but she leapt back, running in and doing a leaping strike, slamming her racket on the guard's head.
"This morning I was getting ready to play in a band with two of my best friends, now I'm fighting a bunch of witches," Anne commented. "Funny how much things have changed living in Amphibia, my life is totally unpredictable."
Suddenly Hunter got thrown near Anne, the boy looking dazed and frustrated, "That damn girl..."
"You know, I actually admire your persistence," Sasha said. "Even though you're clearly getting your ass kicked, you don't stop."
"Sasha, you don't have to be that mean, otherwise you're no better than he is," Anne said.
"It's his fault for invading," Sasha said.
"Yeah, but-" Suddenly Hunter grabbed Anne from behind, using his Palisman to bind her. "Hey!"
"Surrender now! Otherwise your friend here gets it!" Hunter warned.
"Gets what?" Sasha asked.
"Great, now I'm being dragged into your problems," Anne said, then felt the Palisman tighten. "Hey take it easy, blondie!"
"My name is Hunter!" the boy said.
"To think you're actually stooping that low as to taking a hostage, that's just sad," Sasha said.
"I'm not messing around, surrender!" Hunter said.
"Just so you know dude, I could totally get out of this, but I'm going to be nice and let you make the right choice," Anne said.
"Don't play your mind games with me you...you...you're a human right? Your clothes seem so human-life," Hunter said.
"Yes, I'm a human, don't let that fool you, I will knock the crap out of you," Anne warned.
From the distance, as Luz blasted the ships, she could see something strange. "Does anyone have binoculars?"
"Hey, someone get me a scope!" Star said, having one thrown to her. "Here you go Luz."
"Thanks," Luz used the scope to see that Hunter had Anne captive. "Oh no! Anne needs help!"
"Go save her, we'll handle things here!" Star said, blasting the enemies as Luz rushed through the crowd, using her fire and ice to blast away anyone who stood in her path.
"Hunter, I'm running low on patience, can you let me go?" Anne said.
"Not until that girl surrenders!" Hunter said.
"I have a name, it's Sasha," the blonde girl said. "Also, like my friend said, she's more than capable of whooping you. So I don't need to surrender."
"You're trying my patience!" Hunter shouted, annoying his captive.
"Don't shout next to my ear!" Anne scolded. "Sasha you know, you could help too."
"What? You said you could easily fight out of it, hope you weren't bluffing," Sasha said.
"Hey who's side are you on?" Anne asked.
"Are you two even friends?" Hunter asked. "She does not look concerned for you."
"We are, but it's really complicated," Anne said.
"Complicated how?" Sasha asked.
"Hunter!" Luz called, running into the middle of the showdown while readying a glyph.
"Luz?" Hunter asked, then found himself lifted off the ground by some vives that Luz planted, releasing Anne from his grip. "Hey!"
"Anne!" Luz went to check on her friend, "Are you hurt!?"
"I'm fine, I wasn't in any real danger," Anne said.
"Yes you were! You so were!" Hunter shouted, freeing himself from the vines and landing near the three.
"Luz, you know this guy right?" Sasha asked. "He said he knew you."
"He's Belos's Golden Guard," Luz said.
"Oh yeah, that checks out then," Sasha said.
"He's also my Uncle if you must know," Hunter said.
"Ha! I knew there was some form of nepotism," Sasha said.
"Hunter, what is Belos up to?" Luz asked.
"Pfft, I'm not gonna tell you, my enemy," Hunter said. "Just know that after this world is conquered, your world is next."
"Yeah, I'm not letting you conquer Earth dude," Anne said, readying her racket.
"Hunter, why won't you just realize that working with Belos isn't the right thing to do?" Luz asked. "You are so much better than this, I've seen for myself what a good person you could be! Don't throw that away for a tyrant like Belos!"
"I'm doing what I have to, I can't turn away from the man who raised me from childhood," Hunter said. "I will die for my Uncle if I need to, I will not disappoint him!"
"What kind of Uncle expects his nephew to die for him?" Anne asked. "That's kind of sad actually."
"Hunter please," Luz said. "Reconsider-"
"Watch out!" Sasha shouted, jumping out the way of some fireballs with Luz and Anne, with Hunter using this as an opportunity to retreat.
"Alright, who's the wise guy who did that!?" Sasha shouted, running in the fireball's direction with her sword.
"Crap...so much for helping out Hunter," Luz said.
"Sounds like you know him personally," Anne said.
"I never saw him as bad, he just seemed so misunderstood," Luz said. "I really wish he would come to realize he's better off using his abilities to help others, not hurt them. I think it's his lack of confidence in himself is why he seems so willing to do anything he can to please Belos."
"I got that vibe, getting beaten up by Sasha probably wasn't helping," Anne said. "Thanks for bailing me out, I mean I think I could have saved myself, but I wanted to give him a chance to do the right thing."
"Wish he'd taken it," Luz said. "Come on, we still have some villains to defeat."
"Actually, there's something we should tell Star," Anne said. "A guy named Ludo showed up, said he knew her."
"Someone from The Boiling Isles knows Star?" Luz asked, then found herself ducking a blast from Kikimora.
"Dammit, I missed!" Kikimora tried again but had to dodge a strike from Kelly.
"I'm not done with you!" Kelly pursued Kikimora, the little imp blasting the ground and making her escape.
"That was Kikimora, one of Belos's assistants," Luz said. "He is not messing around."
"You girls alright?" Kelly asked.
"We're fine, but we need to talk to Star," Anne said. "A guy named Ludo showed up, said he knew her."
"Ludo? What's he doing here?" Kelly wondered. "Wait, was he helping the Boiling Isles?"
"It looked like it," Anne said.
"Star should know this, come on!" Kelly said, leading the way.
Kikimora reunited with Hunter and Ludo away from the battle, the little imp taking note of some of Hunter's injuries, "What happened to you?"
"Some human girl got lucky, it won't happen again," Hunter said.
"Humans are surprisingly strong, aren't they?" Ludo said. "That Marco boy's fighting prowess is definitely nothing to scoff at."
"To make things worse, I saw Luz," Hunter said. "She probably came to help that Amity girl, and with Luz comes the Owl Lady."
"That is troubling," Kikimora said, then took note of her army. "Our numbers are dwindling to, if this keeps up, our forces will be completely overwhelmed.
"Might be a good time to call it a day, especially now that we know what we're dealing with," Ludo said.
"We can't retreat, it'll make us look bad," Hunter said.
"My dear boy, it's not how many battles you lose, it's about how many you win," Ludo said. "All it takes is one well planned attack, we can do that at any time. Sometimes you have to know when to stop fighting."
"Very well," Kikimora blew her whistle, signaling some nearby guards. "Fall back! Return to the Boiling Isles!"
The guards went on the defense as they tried their best to escape from their enemies, using magic to keep the mewmans at bay.
Meanwhile Hekapoo and her team continued to fight through enemy forces, but no matter what they did, it just wasn't enough.
"We need a new plan," Hekapoo said. "Anyone got any ideas?"
"At this point, the best way to stop an army is to go for whoever's in charge," Marcy said. "Like a game of chess."
"Good point, if we get the checkmate, then that guarantees our victory," Amity said.
"Question is, how do we go about it?" Marco asked.
Before he could get an answer, Marcy gestured to the soldiers, "Are they retreating?"
"Huh?" Hekapoo saw that everyone was making their leave. "Guess someone may have gotten that checkmate."
"So, did we win?" Marcy asked. "Is Mewni safe?"
"I don't think so, they're probably just calling it a day," Marco said.
"That's fine, let them run, it'll give us more time to prepare," Hekapoo said.
"Hekapoo, I wanted to suggest this earlier, and I know both Luz and Anne were against it but, maybe we should try planning in your realm," Hekapoo said. "I mean, with the time differences-"
"No, bad idea," Hekapoo said. "That should only be used as a last resort."
"But, it works, it helped me out," Marco said.
"That was dumb luck, mortals like you were never mean to exist in my realm," Hekapoo said. "I don't think your friends could handle it. Luz and Anne were smart to turn it down."
"Wait, what is this realm exactly?" Marcy asked.
"Don't worry about it," Hekapoo said. "Let's go, we gotta take down any stragglers and make sure that absolutely no one goes anywhere near Queen Moon and King River."
"Yes, of course," Marco said, Hekapoo taking a head start.
"So, what's this realm like exactly?" Marcy asked as they started following Hekapoo. "What's it called?"
"She calls it the 'Neverzone' and it's a maze for starters, you gotta know how to get around," Marco said. "And I had plenty of time to do so."
"And you said that this realm helps you get stronger?" Amity asked.
"Yes, but it's very time consuming," Marco said. "I only suggested it because that place basically turns weeks into seconds. But I guess Hekapoo is right about one thing, it's not meant for mortals. It's difficult for a human to survive, and I imagine it might be difficult for a witch too. Though that trial did allow me to earn Hekapoo's trust and gain my scissors."
"So, if we tried that, could we get our own scissors?" Marcy asked.
"Depends if you can handle how long it would take," Marco said. "You'd be surprised how long it took me."
"How long did it take you?" Amity asked.
"I want to say...about sixteen years," Marco said.
"Excuse me, but what!?" Amity shouted. "You were stuck there for sixteen years!?"
"Sure was, which equated to like a few Earth minutes," Marco said. "That's why I didn't age, and why I'm still fifteen outside of her dimension."
"So you're not a boy then, you're a man," Marcy said, almost flirty like.
"No, I'm a boy, here at least," Marco said. "Honestly that place feels like a blur sometimes, I really don't think it will be that bad for Anne and Luz, or any of you. I mean, I remembered years passing but it didn't feel like years, know what I mean?"
"Sort of," Amity said. "We'll talk it over with our friends, see if it's necessary."
"Luz won't be happy that I brought it up again, she distinctly told me to keep my mouth shut," Marco said.
"Oh Luz just talks tough sometimes, she's not going to hurt you," Amity said.
"Same with Anne, but I have to say, that idea of yours is really interesting," Marcy said.
"It also kind of feels like cheating though," Amity admitted.
"Yeah, it kind of does," Marcy agreed. "Let's try to win with our own strength at least."
"Fine by me, you girls proved your strength after all," Marco said. "Let's get a move on."
Later at Belos's castle, the Emperor was seen observing his retreating troops, slightly disappointed that they couldn't end this today, but was intrigued by some of the things he did see.
"Sir," Kikimora said, arriving and kneeling. "We've returned."
"Enjoy yourselves in the heat of battle?" Belos asked.
"To an extent," Ludo said. "It was quite refreshing."
"Also annoying, that human girl really got on my nerves," Hunter said.
"Now, now, dear nephew, it's not over yet, just sharpen your skills and everything should turn out alright for you," Belos said. "Our battle is not over yet after all."
"Far from it," Hunter said. "Next time, I'll be ready!"
Unbeknownst to him, even outside his castle, observing the returning troops were Willow and Gus.
"So, they've invaded another realm?" Willow asked.
"Seems like it, using magic I have not seen before," Gus said.
"Might be related to that weird creature that came back with Hunter and Kikimora," Willow said. "I really wish Luz, Amity or Eda were here."
"Lilith too, there's gotta be something we can do," Gus said.
"Hey! What are you two doing?" a guard said, making his way over alongside another. "You two shouldn't be here!"
"Sorry, we were just leaving," Gus said.
"Oh no you don't," the guard said. "You and I are gonna-"
Suddenly the guard took a whack to the head from his partner, surprising the kids. Looking around before talking, this imposter spoke with a whisper to the two kids, "Hey, you two. With me. I might know how to get to your friends."
"Huh? How?" Gus asked.
"They're in that other world, hurry," the guard said, leading the two away.
"Should we trust that guard?" Gus asked.
"Well, he did help knock out that other guard, let's try it," Willow said.
"Uh, still seems kind of suspicious," Gus said.
"We'll be fine, if anything you can help us get out of a tight spot, you're good with illusions after all," Willow said.
"Guess so, alright let's move," Gus said, following the other guard.
Back in Butterfly castle, with all the guards gone, everyone was free to take a breath of relief as they gathered in the throne room.
"Wow, that was sure something," Anne said. "When I woke up this morning, I didn't think I'd be fighting in a war."
"None of us thought that," Marco said. "But that's how our day went."
"I do appreciate all of your help, especially those outside our own realm," Moon said.
"Think nothing of it, we're happy to help," Luz said.
"It does my heart good to know that such kind hearted individuals can exist in any realm," Moon said.
"Well we're all connected in some way, I mean it's like having neighbors, when they need help, it's only proper to assist them," Anne said.
"What a clever young girl you are," River said. "Your parents raised a fine young woman."
"Yeah, my parents..." Anne said. "I'll be able to see them again soon."
"Same, I really miss my mom," Luz said.
"I almost miss my brother and sister," Amity said.
"I wonder how my mom's doing?" Marco said. "I haven't seen her in months."
"After this trouble ends, you should pay a visit," Star said.
"You and I back home? Just like the old days," Marco said.
"Speaking of which," Star turned to Anne. "I heard you had something to tell me."
"Yeah, some guy named Ludo's back, said he knew you," Anne said.
"Ludo huh? I haven't seen him since we defeated Toffee," Star said. "What's he doing with Belos?"
"Yeah, I thought he was going to change his ways?" Marco asked.
"We'll get the answers out of him soon," Sasha said. "For now, let's just kick back and relax, it's been a long day."
"Oh dang, we never got to do our Sasha and the Sharps reunion," Marcy said.
"The battle of the bands is probably over too," Sprig said.
"And I had such a grand performance in mind, what a waste," Grime lamented.
"I kind of hoped to show off myself, but what can you do?" Eda said.
"Hey today was still fun, I got to explore a castle, I nearly got lost too!" Polly said.
"Tell me about it, I nearly got lost with you," Rhombulus said. "Keeping up with you is a pain."
"You get used to it," Hop Pop said.
"Too bad we didn't get to fight, I had my sling shot ready and everything," Sprig said.
"I wanted to test my magic against actual witches," Maddie said.
"Another time, the war's not over," Star said. "Anyway it's late, we should settle down for the evening."
"Wait, how are gonna do sleeping arrangements?" Marco asked. "Is everyone staying here? Are we sending anyone back home?"
"We could stay in this Dimension," Anne said. "Just in case something happens, we'd be here to protect everyone."
"That sounds like a good idea, anyone opposed?" Luz asked.
"No opposition for me," Marcy said, garnering a round of agreement.
"Where are we gonna sleep though?" Sasha asked.
"Slumber Party in my room!" Star said.
"Ooh, Slumber Party!?" Sasha asked. "I got some neat games we could play."
"No getting carried away with them," Anne said.
"Oh have a little fun Anne," Sasha said.
"Hey if we're going to do that, mind if I get my stuff then?" Luz asked. "I might need the scissors."
"Oh same, our stuff is back in Amphibia," Anne said.
"Alright, anyone who needs something from another realm, come to me," Hekapoo said. "I'll take you where you need to go and back."
"Hey, would you also be able to take me to Andrias's castle, just to let him know what's up?" Marcy said.
"Sure, line up," Hekapoo said, helping each of the guests with their stuff.
First thing was for Hekapoo to take Luz to The Boiling Isles, the girl briefly looking around the Owl House, happy to be back, even if for a moment before noticing one thing, "Where's Hooty?" She looked to the door, seeing nothing there of the owl, concerning her a bit. "I hope he's alright."
"Hurry up!" Hekapoo called.
"Oye, no me apresures!" Luz called
"I have no idea what that means! Can you speak the language Mewmans share with Humans!?" Hekapoo shouted.
"What a pain," Luz said, making her way upstairs and grabbing her stuff, also grabbing some belongings for Eda, Lilith and King before going back to Mewni castle.
Next was Anne, the girl had gone into her home with Sprig, the two gathering some stuff. Anne got her belongings along with Marcy's and Sasha's, while Sprig got his stuff, along with Polly's and Hop Pop's.
Anne looked outside the Plantar home, and it seemed like some frogs were still partying and enjoying themselves, "Wonder if anyone noticed we were gone?"
"Hey, don't take forever!" Hekapoo said.
"Sorry, coming now!" Anne said. "Hurry up Sprig!"
"Coming!" Sprig said, leaping through the portal.
This continued on with Marcy making her way into Newtopia's castle, alongside Marco and Amity, the two choosing to accompany her.
"So, right now we're in a war against a Kingdom called 'The Boiling Isles'," Marcy said. "They exist in another realm."
"Sounds serious, would you like any assistance? I could lend you some soldiers," Andrias said.
"We can't ask you to do that," Marco said. "We don't want to endanger them."
"Oh it's no trouble, any friend of Marcy's is a friend of mine," Andrias said. "And if that friend has another friend that's a Princess who needs help, well who am I to turn it away?"
"Emperor Belos is no joke, Your Majesty," Amity said. "If you want to help, that would be appreciated, but I want you to be prepared for how tough that could be."
"Don't worry, we like a challenge," Andrias said. "Plus, my soldiers could use a warm...I mean, stretch their legs. They're kind of stiff."
"I'll bring Princess Star by later then, or tomorrow morning, we'll talk things out," Marco said.
"Oh, by the way, I think her mom is familiar with the music box, she said it belonged to an old King but he uses it to conquer realm," Marcy said. "She said it was an old myth but wasn't sure. Do you know anything about that?"
"Well, I may have heard a tale or two, I would need to really see the music box to verify," Andrias said. "But things do get exaggerated in the passage of time."
"Makes sense, well I'll see you later," Marcy said.
"Yes, I'll see you later as well Marcy. I bid you and your friends farewell," Andrias said.
"Let's go everyone, back to Mewni," Hekapoo said, gesturing everyone in. "See you tomorrow then, King Andrias."
"Sure," Andrias said, the portal closing before his eyes. "What an interesting turn of events. Emperor Belos, just what are you up to exactly? And to you Mewman Queen, what Fairy Tales have you been told?"
Everyone had their stuff, everyone had a meal, and everyone prepared for bed. While the battle for Mewni was at a halt, everyone would be prepared for anything, from sneak attacks to impromptu battles, the battle to protect the realms continued.
